Beautiful City of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
By Floridian, 2/24/12
The City was beautiful; we went to the Cascade Water Park, one of the largest in the entire Puert Rico. The city also has around 5 beaches; we went to the Parque Colon Beach and Crash Boat Beach in Aguadilla, and the water was as crystal clear, with a clear view of the ocean floor to more than 5 feet high. We also went to the Ice Skating Ring, under close roof; it was amazing. There were several malls-we went to Aguadilla Mall, with a Cinema Theatre, Baskin Robert Ice Cream Shop and Huge K-Mart. We also went to Plaza near the largest Postal Office, I think it was called Plaza Ferran, you'll see Pizza Hut, Sears, Amigos Supermarket, McDonalds, and several other American fast food restaurants right in this same plaza. I also played Golf, as Aguadilla City has a Golf Park near the Rafael Hernandez International Airport. I also went to the Caimital Bajo, which is the City Center, and saw the City Hall Building; I also visited el Parterre Park, which was completely restored and very beautiful. I had a great time in this beautiful city. I had no ideas Puerto Rico has 78 beautiful cities, great beaches, people were very friendly and pleasant.

wow
By Michelle, 4/27/08
This place is very cute and it suits and meets your needs for the price. It has a western touch to it that really is appealing. We wouldn't have minded spendidn the rest of the vacation here. The restaurant is a little pricey but there are local eateries near by that are very reasonable in prices and tasty! Very simple but straight to the point!

Not Happy. No Hot water
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/9/08
The rooms were very small, we got no hot water, the pools were absolutely freezing. The pillows were very worn out, and my air mattress was more comfortable than the bed. Also, the WiFi at the hotel was very weak, and went down often. The food quality at this hotel was not the greatest, but it was edible. The area around the hotel, as in Aguadilla, was not the nicest. More so, there is absolutely nothing to do in Agudilla, theres a donut shop but thats about it. San Juan and Ponce are both about 2 hour drives. The hotels grounds were very nice though, many flowers, and grassy space.

An old military base
By Emelina, 2/25/08
We stayed with a tour group from January 19 until January 22, 2008. Not one room have an electric outlet in the bathroom. The only outlet in the room was on top of a picture above the night stand too high for my reach. The towels were thinner than a sheet and some had holes on them. They have no wash cloths either. We needed to play with the faucet to get hot or warm water. The first night the restaurant was closed due to a politician rally and a Tito Trinidad fight. The next morning the restaurant employess waitd ouside because the cook who was the only one with a key was not there. They finally open after 10:30 when someone when to get a key or something to that fact. The following day the restaurant was open, but a rude waitress informed us that the cook was not there so we only have a choice of coffee or juice and toast or can peaches for our pre paid breakfasts. The coffee was cold and we were not offer a second cup either. In the evening they ran out of food also. The roms look like the old barracks from the military base that were just given a cheap coat of paint. I do not recomend this hotel at all.

Great accomodations, amazing location. Tourist friendly place. Great food and the price is below then what it deserves. We had a great honeymoon but highly recommend for other occasions as well.

Make sure you fet one of the upper floors
By Roberto, 8/21/07
I stayed there from July 18, through the 20th. I think the place use to be some of the old barracks from the base that they tried to fix up. Well, it still looks like the baracks. The rooms weren't bad, But I could have used a remote for the t.v., and I could have used a working phone, and some extra towels, and a floor mat for the shower...all things that are pretty much standard in any other regular hotel. If you stay in one of the ground floor rooms, make sure you put a towel under the door, or you could wake up with crabs crawling around your floor...and forget about asking the people who work there to do something about it, or forget asking them to get you some extra towels too. All they said sbout the crabs was "well, this is a tropical island" yeah, thats great. I live in D.C., and we have things running around on the streets to, but I've never woke up, and found any thing running around when I got out of bed. Bottom line...it's cheap to stay, and it's pretty clean, but don't expect any frills. Bring extra towels.

The Marcano Report: El Faro
By Beachcomber, 6/11/07
Stayed the night of June 9, 07. Well, I'll try to judge this place as fairly as I can... I stayed at the Lazy Parrot in Rincon the night before! Reservations went smooth. Person who I spoke to was very polite & knew what she was talking about. I called once I took the road to the Aguadilla airport, to ask how to get there. By mistake I called the Faro Parador. I politely asked if this was the Faro, that she spoke so fast I couldn't understand a word she said. She got very upset (Language wasn't an issue). Bottom line she shot down the first impression I had of the company. Anyway I got to the hotel. The grounds were real nice, check in went smooth. (Probably would have gone faster if the 3 or 4 employees weren't busy checking out their Avon catalog.) The Room could in general was clean, although the batrhroom needed some attention. The bar / restaurant area looked real, real nice, & the staff was quite courteous even as you walked by. I didn't eat there though. If you want free continental breakfast, you're outta luck. Pool was nice. Crowded though. I'd close this by saying the place is like a Travelodge. Just a place to stay the night, if everything else is booked. I'd probably only stay there again if this was the case. You can get a real cool place for about $30.00 more.

This hotel is affordable ,clean with spacious rooms. It's minutes away from the Auguadilla airport,so coming from the south of the U.S.by Spirit airlines will be a breeze! Crashboat beach is also nearby, an experience you don't want to miss. The service ,appropiate and helpful. The view oustanding. Our experience ,even though we are locals was very good.In fact we are planning for late july getaway this year at el Faro!
