This Hotel Needs Better Maintenance
By ,
The CP Hotel is falling into disrepair. It has tiles coming off the roof, balconies that are not safe to lean on, an outside jacuzzi that was broken during my stay, an ice cold swimming pool, outdated and tacky room furniture, and is much in need of new paint. On the plus side, the staff is exceptional and friendly. Food is good, location is wonderful, it is a safe place to stay. If the maintenance does not improve, this hotel will not make it.

Our Home Away From Home
By ,
My husband and I have been to Cozumel approximately 20 times in the last 5 or 6 years. We always stay at Coral Princess. The staff is great and the resort is, too. We are treated as if we are family and feel very welcome and comfortable. We will continue to return to Coral Princess. The dive shop on site,,Pepe's is awesome.

Love the Coral Princess
By ,
For relaxed vacationing with wonderful service and simple elegance, this is the place. Been there over a dozen times and cannot wait to return. After a few days they will call you by name and remember your favorite drink. Inexpensive, unpretentious food and good drinks. The sea and snorkeling are just a few feet away and the pool is for those who just like to soak. Get a room facing the ocean, rent a car for island trips and you will feel like you are in another world.

Good Experience
By ,
Overall, the Coral Princess was a good experience. We stayed there in June of 07. It was very, very clean and everything worked! That's amazing for Mexico. The A/C was new and the room was adequate. I was impressed at how detail-oriented the cleaning staff was, they were busy working at every turn. The hotel is probably a three star by US standards. The food was great by Mexican standards. The drink prices were pretty high - $7 for a pina colada. The diving is nice right off the front of the hotel with about a 10' drop-off with lot's of little fish to see - but that gets old fast... Note: This is NOT a great location if you are going to Cozumel for the diving!!! They are far away from the really good dive spots on the island so virtually every dive trip from the hotel included a 20-30 minute boat ride. If you are into diving, I would reccommend you look for a hotel closer to the center of town such as the Barracuda or the Dive Club Hotel. If you stay here, you really don't need to rent a car as cars will cost you $40+ a day plus insurance. Taxi's only cost $4 per car load fixed-rate, to take you to the center of town. Again, it was a very nice place to stay, but look around for a better location if you are into scuba diving. Also: Beware of the timeshare pimps - they are eveywhere!!! And they are disguised as 'tourist information' assistants as soon as you get off the plane and even hotel concierge's - but they all want to dupe you into timeshare presentations.

What we needed
By ,
We were greeted very warmly at the Coral Princess with smiles and a welcome drink. Check In went very smoothly. Our first impression of our room was very pleasant. There was a faint smell of fresh paint. The bed was very comfortable and not hard like we were expecting. Our view from our 8th floor balcony was breath taking! We went straight for our snorkel gear. The snorkeling from the hotel is the best!!!!!! We saw eels, sting rays, lobsters, baby otupus and gazillions of colorful fish that would nibble at your fingers. One day there were a few dolphins that showed up near the hotel. We had the meal plan from Orbitz and had to order from the "room service" menu which wasn't too bad. I recommend their steak, American breakfast, any of their pastries!, and the coconut ice cream. The drinks were pricely and the best was from Isodor the bartender ( he was the BEST) Ask for a green grasshopper and Christmas tree. Ask him about Happy hour and the" baby glass". Look for the iguanas near the restaurant terrace. This hotel was Clean Clean Clean ..very clean. You will notice even the small details. Check Out was smooth. OK now for the negatives..... they pay change in pesos. Watch the restaurant doors they will get you. The time share people are not too bad, but persistant ,but will leave you alone with a firm no ..but then they are not as friendly. If you have a hour to waste of your vacation try it, you may get something free. We had to put down a $100 deposit for a key and lock to the room safe, and a $20 deposit for a beach towel ( We used cash and did not give them a credit card) The hall ways are very loud esp. near the elevators. I would recommed this hotel for families, honeymooners, vacationers and just get aways.

Some good points
By ,
We were surprised at the size of the room which was very spacious with plenty of closet and drawer space. The room was spartan but clean and had a gorgeous view. Initially we thought the service was great, but then started to notice some issues at the restaurant. At times service was very inattentive, even though we always tipped well. The food was, at best, average. The entire week we were there, they offered only one type of fish, grouper. Some of the menu items were extremely overpriced ($7.50 for a small salad?) and basically the prices were similar to any major urban area in the U.S. The pools was very nice and the setup of the hotel was comfortable, plenty of lounge chairs, never felt overcrowded even though it was the height of the season. Overall the experience was fine, but I would probably try something else on the next trip.

four times family stayed
By ,
The Coral Princess is on a perfect aquarium-style beach. Just step off the concrete boat landing into a perfect place to snorkel and scuba - with excellent scuba staff and equipment. My boys got their certifications there. The beach-bar palapa serves excellent local food - delicious - and not a colder beer on the island. The rooms are "roomy" with the master bdrms looking directly out to the Caribbean - nothing to obstruct the glorious view.

Great!!! and we will return!!!
By ,
William Collier From Jeannie and Bud from Texas We spent another two great weeks at the Coral Princess. We arrived on 28 Jul and departed on 11 Aug 07. The staff is excellent, the food is great, prices are reasonable, and the view is marvelous. This is the most honest and caring staff I have ever met. Pedro, Jamie and the other gentleman that I forgot his name are always great. This is like our second home. We have been staying at the Coral Princess since 1999 and plan many other visits. Pedro did something that you will very seldom see from many establishments. In our haste leaving for the airport, we left a bag. It was our fault, but Pedro showed up at the airport and delivered the bag just in time before we checked in for the flight. I have always really liked this young man for all the years we have had the privilege knowing him. This again proves what a great employee this fine young man really is!!!! If I was to recommend a place to stay in the world and could recommend a staff, Coral Princess would be the place and every employee would be on the list. P.S. Pedro expect something very nice the next time you see Jeannie and Bud at your front door

nice surprise
By ,
I went over new years eve week.At the airport after they check the luggage, just go to the taxi voucher office. Then with the voucher in hand just go to the curb and some one will tell you where to go.The rooms are very nice.Service very good and freindly.I went for the SCUBA diving and they have a small but very professional SCUBA shop on site. After diving(great wall, night and drift dives)I would go downtown. The cruse ships were loading or already gone so it was't crowed at all.No crime, plenty of night life. I'm going back.Very resonably price.
