Go Somewhere Else
By ,
We stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights. The best thing was the Breakfast Buffet. We left our room to spend the day at the falls, only to return at 5pm and our room was not even touched, as a matter of fact the whole second floor was not touched. People were serving themselves from the maids cart for towels and soap. When we went to the front desk to complain, they asked if we left the Do not disturb sign on the door. We told them, if that was the case, then the whole floor had them on their door, because everyone was complaining about the same thing. They were rude and acted as if nothing was happening. Then they tell us they had the maids cleaning the Days Inn next door and they were late. I guess they own both Hotels, so don't even stay at the Days Inn!!! For Dinner, we were refered to the Frontier restarant next door. Once again, it seems like they own that also!!! The dinner was awful, and very, very expensive. I would not have paid $10 for what I ate. The service if you got any, was awful and they were rude. We asked the waiter to bring plates and utensils, he stacked them on the table and left. We had to place them ourselves. Bottom line, there is Better!!!!!

worst experience ever
By ,
We booked a two day romantic getaway for our second anniversary with the Fireside. Upon arrival we walked into our room expecting to relax and enjoy our two days alone together. Well this did not happen. The room was the dirtiest I have ever seen. There were dead bugs in the jacuzzi, water stains all over the mirrors, the bathroom had hair on the floor, in the sink, on the counters, in the tub, wrapped around the suction cups of the bath mat, there were no wash clothes or hand towels in the room and the toilet was not flushed nor did it work. Needless to say we called the front desk immeditaly. It took 30 minutes for someone to come clean the room and fix the toilet. We booked a smoking room, but not the ashes of the people who were there before us. The table tops were stained and covered in ashes from the previous guests. It was very clear that the only thing that had been cleaned was the bed. So finally the room is clean and we think we can start our romantic week end. We fill up the jacuzzi, light our candles and sit to enjoy....only to have the tub start making a horible noise, stops and we loose the lights. We once again call the front desk and recieve another visit from the maintance man who we are spending more time with than eachother. He fixes the jacuzzi and we decide to take a walk. When we come back about an hour later we fire up the jacuzzi again, only to experience the same thing, once more. We have finally had enough of this room, so at 10:30 pm the desk clerk moves us to another jacuzzi room which was non smoking. Here he gives us an ashtray and tells us to smoke in it because everyone does anyway. At this time my boyfriend tries for the third time to get ice from the one and only ice machine in the building, only to be told if he wants ice to go to the motel next door to get it!!!! My boyfriend returns to the room and we decide to take a risk and fire up the jacuzzi again. This time we are able to relax and hope our problems are over for the day....Guess not!!! At 2:00 am we have gone to bed and hope for the best, when there is a knock at the door. It is yet another desk clerk telling us this room was not supposed to be occupied. Well this was the final straw. We made it very clear to this man that we want to speak with management in the morning. When we demanded to see the manager we were told he had already left for the day, and would we like to leave him a message. So we leave a written message for him to contact us first thing in the morning Well at about 10:00 am we call for him only to be told that he is in a meeting. When the desk clerk asked if there was a problem and realized who we were, she instantly became rude with us. We had enough so we packed our bags to leave. Upon check out the desk clerk was rude, rolling her eyes, cutting us off and tried to place blame on other people. Of course management was still in a meeting and could not see us, but she would be happy to take another message. Well he recieved a letter much like you are reading here today. We contacted head office and filled them in on the lack of professionalism, and incompantance of the staff as well as to how dirty the hallways, rooms, and pool areawas. Clearly, we did not enjoy our visit. Head office gives the manager seven days to address the situation. The manager left us a voice mail at our home once, telling us he would contact us the following day.....well this did not happen. I wish you the best on your holiday....if you want it to be problem free, book some where else.

Pleasant experience
By ,
We were 6 women in 4 rooms and found the experience of staying here quite pleasant. Beds comfy, quiet except for the sound of toilets flushing, jacuzzi lovely. Gas fireplaces were not working as the gas system was under construction. Pool was chilly as some construction prevented the heat from being on in the pool for a few days. Having said that, 3 of our group did swim. Lights were very dim in the rooms. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely go here again and can recommend this place to others.

WE HAD AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE IN THIS HOTEL. WE HAD 19 ROOMS ALL DOUBLE BEDS & NON SMOKING & THEY ARE ALL VERY CLEAN & SPACIOUS & BEDS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE. WE HAD FIREPLACE & REFRIGIRATOR IN EACH ROOM. PRICE IS VERY AFFORDABLE. STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY. BILL & SUSAN(HOTEL MANAGERS) ARE BOTH WONDERFUL. HOTEL IS CLOSE TO ALL ATTRACTIONS. NO PROBLEM WITH FREE PARKING. WE ENJOYED THE SWIMMING POOL, JACUZZI & SAUNA, THEY ARE ALL VERY CLEAN. WE WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN.

Calm, relaxing and close to lot of fun places too.
By ,
We stayed in this hotel for 3 days and these 3 days were the best part of our 2 week vacation. I read other people reviews and was scared to book but the old owners are gone and this hotel is under new ownership now. So I will suggest just give it try again, you will love it. This hotel has nice river view, yes the one that starts from Niagara Falls. From their dinning area the view is so nice and the dinning area was itself very excellent. We missed to pack toothpaste and hair brush. Within 2 minutes of call to front desk, we got all the stuff. Tha It is just few minutes away from Niagara Falls may be 3-4 minutes by car and the best thing is that gives you calm, relaxing, peaceful and pleasant area.

Nice, relaxing vacation
By ,
Nice place for what we spent. Location good - free shuttle to the falls (far walk), and there's not the commotion of the falls area. Hut tub was nice. A little disappointed b/c fireplaces were turned off for the summer. Could have been a bit cleaner. Rooms were nice and big. Would stay there again, or maybe head closer to the falls.

On a holiday .. they dont care about u'r reservation
By ,
I made a reservation for the July 4th weekend. and when we reached there in the midnight (3:00 AM) after driving from newyork city .. and passing all the hell at the international border, There were no rooms available at the hotel. And arranged at the adjacent Day's Inn which is under maintainance..A/c Leaking etc .. and is the only room available there. As per the norms .. they are supposed to provide equivalent or Better rated facility .. but they dont care. There was no choice so late in the night .. but to accept that accomodation.

Rude Manager and Clerks
By ,
We made a reservation for 2 night via the central hotel booking line. I was told by that the cost is $80.00 per night. After coming back from sighting, my kley could not open the door, so I went to the front desk and I was told that my booking was only for one night. And I shoudl removed my luggages from the room, my kids were all crying because they could not understand why we were told to leave. After enquiring with the front desk clerk, she told me that my booking was only for one night, I told her no I booking was for 2 night. The manager came and she was very rude and unprofessional, she would not listen to what I was saying, she just said take your bags from the room. After all this they charged me as walk in customer with a price of $145.00 a price. I was so upset and confuse that I did not even think to call the central hotel booking line to varified that the price and the reservation I was quoted at the beginning was $80.00. I am very disappointed with the way I was treated at this hotel, they couldnot find my information, so they charged me as a walk-in customer at the cost of $145.00. When I asked to check back in, I was told there was no room available, so here I was with 2 kids trying to find a hotel for the night. If you are using the central hotel booking line to book a reservation, please double check to make sure they send the information to hotel you are staying at, or better yet get them to fax or email you the information about your reservation, because somewhere along the line communication between these two party are getting missed, and we the consumers are getting a raw deal.
