This was simply a 10 out of 10. Location is perfect for those wanting to taste Amsterdam. Hotel is located on the Canal but not on the main drag. The red light district is up the street to the North but that need not worry families with children because the other direction is lovely. The Hotel Is gorgeous --it is a restored Convent and served as the old City hall until 1988. The Lobby and Garden are really five star. Service was the best I have ever seen. The Hotel Staff really shares the guests sense of urgency. Food is superb. We had a summer deal junior suite plus connnecting room they ended up upgrading us for a nominal fee. The staff from the Maids to the Concierge were simply fabulous. The Pool is modest in size but it is the only indoor hotel pool in Central Amsterdam. Thwe business csnter is nic with four computer internet terminals free of charge and free printing. The Work out room is too small though it has an eliptical , running machine and weights. The lobby bar is lovely and fun to have drinks each night. The hotel is pricey and the junior suites are actually decent sized double rooms. the bottom line 9.5 out of 10... you'll enjoy it more than other 5 star hotels in town.

Ilike it because it is clean and quite beutiful and green and I visited it before and I saw how it clean and beutiful and ritch with gardens and musiums from all histry sides

The Grand is one of Amsterdam most well-known hotels. I love the lobby bar however it can be quite pricey. The hotel is located in the heart of the Red Light District. Not the nicest part of town. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is quite nice.
