Windsor Motel, New Windsor

I stayed here while visiting family/friends in the area. It's not a 5 star hotel, but for the money, and location, it's fairly clean/safe and economical. I took advantage of their wireless internet which was fast. I took some of their breakfast (again, a nice little snack to start the day, nothing fancy). The rooms were old, but were well kept. The linens and bathroom were clean and newly renovated. I had to ask the desk for help logging on to the internet, but that problem was easily solved. I had a fairly cheap room, so I wasn't expecting much. It's a 1 star property, and knowing this, I know they wouldn't offer much extra services. However, I was satisified with this. I initially went to the neighboring motel, and was not happy with their safety situation. The parking lot at the other places was not bright, and it seemed like some 'shady business' was going on there. Windsor Motel was open/bright/etc. and very comfortable to stay in.

I came here for a night for a family reunion, I was glad it was only one night. The breakfast was doughnuts and coffee until 9am.. I was not up at that time so i think it was wrong to have it over so soon. The walls are very thin, I heard the television of the person next to me, I could hear them talking also. There was no heat available , it smelled funny also. Luckily my family came with air freshener otherwise i dont know what i would do. For the amount of money we spent.. so not worth you. For 10 more dollars you could go to Howard Johnsons. I was ready to walk out and pay for another hotel! the Beds were also so very uncomfortable, the fauscets leaked and the wallpaper was peeling.. so not the best choice.. avoid if at all possible, many more hotels minutes away to choose from.Did i mention when i tried to pay the guy didnt know how to charge my Credit card.. should have realized then that something was wrong!!run

No one on site to take care of problems in the evening/nite and phones are either "busy" or unanswered. Power went out 1st evening and there was no heat, lights etc. Power eventually came back on and since it was late and I was traveling with my young son and I had already paid we stayed and I reported the problem to the staff the next morning. I was told it was a circuit breaker and it would be fixed. The owner was still unavailable. Came back that evening (8:00 pm) to no power at all, not even outside lights. No one in the office, no answer on either phone line. This was a very unsafe and dangerous condition with no help available, so I had to leave and stay (&pay for) another motel. Owner finally called backed late the next day and was full of excuses but promised to refund my money. He was very quick to charge my card but as of today has still not refunded my money as promised. All I wanted was a clean safe place to stay with my son for his birthday weekend. What I gave him was a nightmare.....Never stay here!!!!!!

I stopped by while visiting the Hudson Valley. The front desk staff was really helpful in finding local attractions as well as guiding me in the right direction. The rooms had large TVs and wireless internet. Always a plus today. Free breakfast was included too. The room prices were very reasonably priced and the rooms were really clean and comfortable to stay in. I enjoyed having the breakfast in the morning - it saved me from having to find a coffee shop.
