Days Inn Davenport North, Davenport

My wife and I pulled off here because we had a coupon and weren't getting as far as we planned on our trip out east. We called to make sure they had a non-smoking room and could accept the room saver coupon. The problems? 1. The non-smoking room we got was on the 2nd floor...about 2 rooms down from the smoking rooms. The hall was rancid with smoke. My wife has asthma and we had a 2 month-old with us...this was miserable for all of us. 2. The coupon said the hotel was newly renovated...it could not have been..at least not the rooms. The entire inside looked old...70s old. The carpet was gross, spotted and sticky in some spots. The bed was uncomfortable...with a permanent impression in it. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. 3. In the bathroom was a sign saying there were 3 towels, washcloths, etc. There were two of each. 4. The pool had a thick film on top of it... we didn't bother going in. 5. Breakfast was a bust. The juice (both of them) were empty 30 minutes before breakfast ended and they wouldn't refill them. The waffle batter was gone too. The cleaning crew came in before breakfast was over and took what was there...while my wife and I were toasting our bagels. Needless to say, we had to go buy breakfast elsewhere before driving. 6. There were dead bugs all over the window sill in the stairwell, as well as a couple that were still alive...one big one. Basically, I am saying not to bother staying here. There are MANY other hotels there with comparable rates (even in coupons) that I'm sure were MUCH better.

I can't believe I didn't read all of these comments first. Guess it is because they don't come up on the Days Inn website. But I agree with all of them. Stay here one night and it will be the last. Mildew and Mold in the tub and shower and no water pressure. Told the manager in the morning at checkout and he said he had no complaints and he rents that room out every night!! Ice machine not working, washing machine not working, security door to back lot not working (could not get in the motel). The Daybreak Breakfast featured warm milk, watered down juice (both juice dispensers said the bags should be replaced), jam and jelly so old you couldn't get it out of the packets, waffles undercooked, stale bread. This place should be reported to the health department. Stay away!

I reserved a Jacuzzi tub room and it was awful! First I had to call to get someone at the front desk and then he was RUDE! Went down to get in room and key card would not work - tried 7 times. I then went back to desk and had to call again to get help-same guy! He then proceeded to ask why card didn't work, like I should know! Then when I finally got in a room it was dirty and smelly and I didn't want to touch anything! I then called him and he said he was busy and didn't have time to keep messing with me! I then headed down to get my money back and had to call AGAIN to get him to the desk. He then proceeded to tell me that he had to check the room to make sure I hadn't touched or used anything, I said are you kidding....that is why I want my money back because I was afraid to touch anything! I believe this guy was the General Manager and if he was he really needs to learn some Customer Service Skills!! Would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone and would never stay in it. I went down the road where the service was great and the price was much much better! Save your money and your health and move on down the road!!

The following is a copy of my complaint to the Dept of Health. I tried to complain to the BBB also but they arent an accredite business My name is Robert Craig. I am requesting that you check out Days Inn 101 W 65th St Davenport, IA 528062059. We decided not to stay at this hotel after we found multiple health related issues. THe Sheets were covered with hair, The Pillow cases had urine stains, The toilet had dried feces smeared on its side and the lighting fixture had unsealed wires exposed above the shower. We tried to address these issues with hotel manager but he was rude and refused to accept any fault. This makes me believe this is a constant issue and needs to be looked at by the Dept of Health.

Worse hotel we have ever stayed in. Reserved a non smoking room for 2 nights, got a smoking room and upon check-in we had to fight for the second night and to get a non smoking room. Shower had mold all around it. Carpet was sticky. Room had a nasty odor. Room lighting was pitiful. Wish we had not stayed the second night. Service was non-exsistent, room was not cleaned when we got back from a day out. No towels, no wash clothes. Floors were sticky. Desk clerks were rude and unhelpful. Blamed it on us that the room had not been cleaned and tried to get me into an argument. There was nothing good about this hotel, inside or out.

Liked: Convenient to where we were going, on main hwy, Disliked: STINKS! Reserved a NON smoking room for 2 adults, 2 kids and an infant. Also reserved a crib. Upon check in were informed the pool was closed, they did not have cribs, and we ended up in a GOD AWFUL stinky smokey room. Bed Covers had tears in them.. wish I had brought my camera. I will not stay here again

My kids and I waited over an hour early morning (around 2am) on 07/07/08 and nobody ever came to the desk. I even tried to call on my cell phone and never got an answer, I eventually left and find another hotel that actually had employees.

This place provided a place to sleep but not much more. Second worse hotel I've stayed in. Pros: No wireless access hassle. Cons: Moldy shower/curtain. 20 min wait for the front desk to turn on power to my AC. Strong paint/smoke smell. Washer/dryer broke. Teens hanging around parking lot. Broken road sign. Didn't answer phone at front desk 3x. Pool smaller than appeared in picture.

I reserved 4 NS rooms for myself and a group of friends. Upon arrival, not all NS rooms were available as confirmed. Additionally, hotel carpets were filthy, the halls smelled really bad, the pool was out of order and they had NO working ice machines. The rooms were very dirty. Stay away from this one.

This place was nice and quiet and clean, and even had a microwave and refrigerator in the room for the price - I usually have to pay extra for that. I would stay here again for sure!
