La Quinta Inn & Suites Indianapolis Downtown, Indianapolis

The hotel was horribly dirty, our room smelled like a dead rat, our electricity went out for a while (we were told b/c a maid shoved her cart into the closet and hit the circuit breaker), our toilet didn't flush (and as a runner with my own set of GI problems, that is not acceptable), and we don't think we had clean linen on our bed (there was hair on our sheets and the bedding smelled like the dead rat). There were also stains a and paint coming off the bathtub and sink, and everytime someone let their room door slam, paint fell from our ceiling onto our bed. When we told the front desk about our toilet, they said they were full and couldn't move us to another room...heck, I would have settled for a working toilet. We did finally figure out how to make it work but it took over an hour for the tank to fill so we had to wait an hour to flush it! We were in town for the Indy Mini Marathon. When we made reservations 5 or 6 months ago, we were told we could have late check out. However, when we checked in, I was told no late check out because of a group coming in the next day. Please don't take a chance at this hotel. Pay a little more to get a clean room and a good night's sleep. Just because they serve a free complimentary breakfast doesn't mean they should omit quality, good service, and cleanliness.
