Hilton Garden Inn Mystic Groton, Groton

As with my prior experiences at a Hilton Garden Inn, this hotel was very clean and professionally run. The room was very spacious and very clean. the lobby decor is tasteful and a notch above most hotel chains. I have started looking for Hilton garden Inns when I need a hotel room, as they always are my best stay of the trips I take.

From start to finish we had a wonderful experiance here! At check in the staff was very friendly and helpful. As soon as we got into our room the head of housekeeping stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. The pool and hot tub were very clean. When we were hungry and the restaurant wasn't open yet a member of the staff tracked down the chef and had him prepare us lunch anyway. This was by far the best experiance I have ever had at a hotel and I do a lot of traveling!!!

The whole place is so comfortable. The staff was delightful. The lobby is awesome. The restaurant in the hotel (The Great American Grill) serves great meals for breakfast and dinner. We have never gotten a better night's sleep! The beds are awesome, so we were well-rested for a morning workout,which takes me to the fitness center. It's basically brand new since the hotel just opened this past February. There are more than enough machines to go around and all of them have screens so you can watch TV while you run. They supply headphones that you can plug right into your machine and choose your own station. The pool/jacuzzi area is very clean and spacious. It was really nice to walk one door down after our workout and go for a dip before we started our day. Once we were showered and everything, I realized I had forgotten the copy of my presentation, so I was able to use my own computer to access the files on a secure wireless network and print them right to the on-site business center! What a save! After a long day, it was so great to return to our gorgeous room, order something from the Great American Grill and watch HBO on a 32-inch flat screen HDTV. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for a week, and it quickly became my choice hotel when I travel to Southeastern Connecticut!

We slept so poorly at this hotel that we actually checked out early, staying only 1 of the 2 booked nights. The bed was so incredibly old. One side was completely worn and the other side was rock hard. It made the most awful creaking noise with the slightest movement... that alone kept me awake. Also, the A/C unit was poorly placed, about 2 feet away from one of the beds, so the on-off noise of the A/C also kept me awake. The hotel is extremely outdated with respect to decor. The room was decently clean. Cottonballs and q-tips were provided (a nice surprise). I agree with the other reviewers in that the bathroom was ridiculously small. I would not recommend this hotel. I got stuck with it because I booked through Priceline ($70 per night), but after one night, I shelled out an additional $60 to get a better room at a better hotel.

As a frequent Government traveler, I stay here often. The location is great. Very centralized. I've stayed in all but the honeymoon rooms. All the rooms were clean and all the beds comfortable. The suite king beds are like sleeping on a cloud. The bathrooms are small only if your use to a live-in bathroom. The food is very good especially the breakfast. The wait staff is friendly and try hard, but there are to few of them. An indoor pool would make this place perfect. An outdoor pool would be a waste since it could only be used 2-3 months of the year.

We thought the room was very spacious but the bathroom was rather small. We had the free breakfast and it was great. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

We requested a cot and were charged for it. 11PM rolled around and still no cot delivered to our room. We called the main desk and were told no cots are available! We received no notification from them about that. We then requested extra pillows and blankets in place of the cot, none ever showed up. Couldn't check out, computers didn't work. ATM in lobby didn't work. Don't waste your $150 dollars here. I've had better service at a $50/night Motel 6. Poor Poor Poor

First and foremost the place was clean. the location right off 95 is great for going to the casino's and mystic and very good shopping. One thing it lacks is a pool

My husband and I wanted a quick, last minute and inexpensive getaway. We found the Groton Inn-booked a room, packed up and were on our way and we relieved when saw our room. The room and bathroom were spotless. The room was spacious. Because we booked online (of if you have AAA), we got a free breakfast-not a continental breakfast,a real breakfast. Mystic Seaport and Foxwoods were minutes away. The only trivial thing we thought could improve was the desk receptionist who lacked friendliness. A smile would've been nice, but she was efficient and accomodating. So, all in all-we would return in a heartbeat..a great place for the cost.

Here's the good part. It is conveniently located and easy to find. While the hotel room was large and adequately clean, the mattress and pillows were like slabs of concrete. The bathroom area was tiny and it wouldn't hurt to have a lid over the commode seat. The dining room food was only fair and the service was spotty, probably because there was only one waitress serving the whole dining room. It appears that they used a lot of cosmetic improvements on an old building and are trying to pass it off as a five-star.
