A choice for the desperate
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/07
I attended a planning meeting for a city convention at the Executive meeting center and stayed for two nights at the accompanying Hilton. The meeting center was beautiful, comfortable, well equipped, and the service staff was fantastic. The hotel was the opposite. I was told the hotel completed a renovation last year, but there was no style or class. The carpet looked like hand-me-downs from the Vegas Stardust in the early '70's. Nicely matched to the Oriental, African, and Modern art. My room was delayed being ready when I checked in at 5pm. When I got into the room, there was just one towel and no toilet paper. It took housekeeping almost 30 minutes to get some to me. Walls are thin enough to hear the next room's wake up call. There was wireless for an outragous charge. It's located on the outskirts of the harbor with no food or entertainment within walking distance. No concierge to help you find some. According to the valet, it's not wise to walk around Long Beach after dark. Hilton needs to take another look at this hotel. It doesn't live up to the standards I'm used to from the name Hilton.

Nice
By Steve, 01/13/07
Stayed here recently, and this hotel was located right off the highway, and walking distance to all the major attractions. The price wasn't bad (for a Hilton), and the employees always had a smile on their face. Rooms were immaculate.

A lot of Pomp and Stance
By Braeden, 10/01/06
I can't necessarily that I did not like my stay at the Hilton Downtown Long Beach, but there wasn't anything overall that I enjoyed either. There was a lot of attention to the fancier details. Fancy pillows and smooth marble tiles in the lobby, as well as fancy pillows and the sort in the room. However there was little information given ahead of time that there is only wireless internet access below the tenth floor and hard line access on the tenth floor and above. An important fact I would have found valuable since I have to stay in touch with my work email while on business. Otherwise, the stay was pretty basic.

Absolutely love this hotel; everyone from valet, to bell desk, to front desk to rest. are extremely customer oriented.

Way to go Hilton
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/05
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Hilton. The room was wonderful and the price was right, I highly recommend the Long Beach Hilton for short weekend getaways. It's close by to the Pine St where you will find an excellent choice of restaurants and then there is the Aquarium of the Pacific, Queen Mary, Museum of Latin American Art etc etc... you can't go wrong We will definitely be staying here again, as long as the price remains affordable.
