We can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/08
It seems things have changed since the reviews of 2006. The sheets were new and clean, the suite we had was nicely decored with modernized furniture. The staff were very helpful. We were involved in a care accident on 101 Fwy in the middle of nowhereland, close to Goleta. Car needed towing. We needed a room for the night. The CHP officers warned us that the hotels in the area were full because for a festival. I don't know how, my 17year old found Pacifica with a vacant room. Thanks to cell phones I should say. The receptionist adjusted the price for us because we checked in after midnight. The chef at the breakfast counter treated our daughters for an extra serving of hash brown. The morning staff helped us get a rental car. The waiting area had local newspapers and a large bowl of fruits. We loved the scenery from our suite, everything looked clean and nicely kept. With all the greenery there were no insects. The only thing we didn't like was the glass tables in the dining area had an unpleasant smell. I think it was the wet cloth they had used for cleaning. Would like to go back for relaxation. Wish the CHP would have a website for reviews. The officers were examplary with their service!

Good hotel, but unfriendly service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/06
There's nothing much more to say.. I liked the room, it was comfortable. It was clean. But if there is anything you are gonna need service for, FORGET about it. They take your calls, but that's it. They refuse most things calling it company policy, for the rest, they just never do it !! I have no idea why.. I'd stay there again if I really have to, but would avoid calling the front desk for anything !!

Dressed Up Motel 6
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/06
I was very disapointed with Pacifica Suites. Looking at the website you might be seduced into thinking you will be staying at a luxury resort. The hotel had the ambience of a Motel 6. The rooms, while clean, were devoid of character and the bathrooms left much to be desired. Pay the extra $100. a night and stay at the Bacara. tt

Won't go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/06
We stayed at Pacifica Suites 4 times, usually in Feb. to attend an athletic event at the University. Our first visit, sheets on King bed had holes in them, and sheet on pullout was not clean, old stains! They replaced King sheets with another holey set. We overlooked this and tried several more visits since it was so convenient to UCSB. Our last visit was the final straw, large black bugs in bathroom, in sink and in bed!! When we complained the manager was rude and unpleasant, even after we showed him the bugs and encouraged us not to stay another night (concerned other guests would hear our complaint). Therefore we would never stay there again and have spread the word to other UCSB parents.

We will book again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/06
This is one of the hotels listed on UCSB information page for parents attending freshman orientation. We ended up here by chance, when our regular hotel didn't have room. However, after our two-day stay to pick up our son at the end of his freshman year, we hope to be able to book it for all our future visits to UCSB. The rooms are comfortable, you get a suite for the cost of a single room at other places and it includes a cook to order breakfast! The AAA discount made it an even better deal. If you have a lot to carry, try to reserve on the first floor. There is no elevator,

Service Very Poor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/06
We had a big group staying there (for business) and the service was very poor. The front desk people couldn't handle a few simple requests. The guy handling our reservations "forgot" about his promises to accomodate our group and said it slipped his mind because his boss was out of town. Rooms were nice and comfortable, but the staff was very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place for business.

Lovely, relaxed setting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/06
Though it's about 5-10 minutes north of downtown Santa Barbara, these are lovely accommodatons. Two story buildings set around the Sexton historic mansion. Architecture blends nicely with lovely lawns, mature trees. The rooms were spacious (we had a king bed with full sleeper in sitting area). Perfect for our family of 4. In addition, there is a complimentary hot breakfast and happy hour. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Goleta's best hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/24/06
Big rooms, heated pool, and spa, free (and good) breakfast. I travel a ton for business and I'd stay here again -- this is the best in Goleta by far.

not good hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/05
I read the review of nov 2004, dirty room. Well, I had a dirty room back in 2000, and never went back. First, original room given a key to appeared to be occupied. After complaining at the front desk, given a key to a different room. Upon entering, bed/sheets appeared to have been slept in. As no other hotel was available, called front desk, and had them change sheets. Again, never went back. Why are rooms so bad in Goleta/Santa Barbara? Because, those that can affort $400/night and up, get ok rooms, those that can't, get lousy rooms and treatment. For my $400 a night, I can visit Hawaii, with much better service.
