Not bad at all

The Super 8 in Delavan was a nice place to stay at. Its well located in the heart of Delavan, near I-43. Right by the Mobil gas station.
Check In proceeded nicely. The front desk staff was friendly and quick.
I checked in early, but even with that they had a room ready for me. The cleaning staff was extremely friendly. I met several of them in the hallways and they all had smiles and said "hello" to me.
I had was a double queen bed room. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the beds were well cared for. The cable TV had more channels than most hotels I've been in. The lights all had energy effecient flourescent bulbs in them. Good idea to help keep costs in line, but they tend to take an extra moment or two to light up. A minor downside.
I had a non-smoking room, but there are rooms there that do allow smoking. In the hallway, I could easily smell old cigarette smoke but it wasn't overpowering at all.
The air conditioner in the room was nice but only had one setting. No high or low setting at all. In fact, you just turn it on and it runs. No speed setting whatever.
The ice machine is located on the first floor. Would have been nice if they had one upstairs. Again, a minor thing.
The glasses in the room were styrofoam. Not too thrilled with that one. For the price I paid for the room...over $140+.....glass glasses would have been nice.
They do have a special security door near the side front to let you in to the building. Its activated by swiping your room door card. But it didn't always work and sometimes it had to be re-set by the manager in order for it to work. When it didn't work, it just simply would not let you in. That to me was not a minor problem. That is one that needs to be addressed.
They do not have a pool at this Super 8. In fact an older couple was leaving to go into town and made a somewhat snide remark to the manager that if they had known there wasn't a pool there, they would never have checked in.
They do have a washer and dryer on the first floor. I think its $1.75 per load.
This Super 8 offers free coffee and continental breakfast. I did not take advantage of that since its not my thing. Perkins restaurant is less than a 2 minute walk from the front door.
Not a bad place at all. I felt it was a little pricey for the $140+ they charged me for the room. I think $110 would have been a more fair price for this hotel.
I will give it a B- It would have been an A+ had the price been lower and they take care of the things I already mentioned.
