This Mariott in Wayne PA is screwed up and mis-managed

We made reservations weeks in advance and used an AMEX card to hold the reservation but when we showed up they said the room was not available and that they were full. As a business traveller for over 10-years I expected that this hotel would make some accomodation for us at perhaps another Mariott nearby. Only after about a half-hour at the front desk could they be convinced to find us another room somewhere nearby. They acted as if we were putting them out instead of vice-versa. After a few hours travel and with kids (this was a personal trip on a holiday weekend) we were in no mood for the awful treatment. Wayne PA is supposedly a nice area but you would not know it from the types who work at this hotel. We finally got another room but it was dingy and right on a busy highway. Next time we'll look for a Hilton or Sheraton. I have instructed my corporate travel dept to only book this Mariott if there are no other hotels available within 50-miles.

The Marriott Devon in Wayne suited our purposes fine. The room had an odor of cleaning solution, though. In fact, my clothes smelled like that the next day. Otherwise it was a good place to stay.

This is a very nice hotel. Staff was very friendly. Offered cookies at check in. Indoor pool was nice in October. We were the only guests using the pool every time we went down. The pool was on the cool side, but that didn't slow down the kids. The hot tub was very nice and actually on the very warm side. Relaxing music piped in which I thought was a nice feature. There was a control for the volume if for some reason you did not want it on. Rooms were nice, very clean. Given fresh towels each day. Second and third floor had balconies and first floor had terrace. We had a second floor room. One queen bed and a pull out sofabed, which I think was a double. Shower/tub combo with sink outside the bathroom which was a time saver for sure. Free internet was nice. Able to locate places to eat from our computer. Kmart in next plaza for anything that you might have forgotten. Food near by. Hotel itself set back behind some other buildings, so can be difficult to locate. Only thing I could think of that could Would stay here again.

Great Stay!

Nicest hotel in the area... great staff! Beds are very comfortable and new bedding looks really good. Definately recommend that you stay at this property if visiting the area.

This is a typical Courtyard by Marriott - we've stayed at them all over the country and this one is not much different than the others.
