Motel 6, Des Moines

Room smelled musty and was really small but appeared clean. The beds were hard and pillows flat. I did find a colony of water bugs that came to great me in the bathroom during the night! TV was tiny. No alarm clock. No coffee maker. No fridge. No microwave. No iron. No blow dryer. No tissues. No bath mat. 1 soap to trade back and forth from the sink to the shower. The next morning housekeeping wheeled a cart by to collect all of the towels at 9:30 am. They did not ask to make up the room nor did they have fresh towels yet. I was told they needed to be washed. By 11:30, I had used up my paper towels from the car to dry our hands and I went in search of towels. Housekeeper 1 said she would bring them soon. Housekeeper 2 said just a minute. Housekeeper 1 the second time said she would be right there. The maintenance man said he would get me a housekeeper that would get me towels. Finally, at 3pm I went to the desk and they gave me 2 towels although we have 3 in the room. The place was noisy with boys wandering about in their underwear because others were throwing the pants off the 2nd floor. I would NOT stay here again, not even if they comped the room. I'd be willing to bet that Jails have more amenities and better service than this place.
