Could have been better!
By Suwanda, 05/10/07
Overall, my trip was great! It was a quick trip to the city. The rooms were nice and clean. The two problems that I had were that I called ahead to request an extention on the room and was told that I could check out at 2 pm. I scheduled a late flight out the day I was to leave. The extension time was 1 pm. The other problem was that we requested a refrigerator for our room 3 times and never received one. We were surprised that you have to pay extra for a refrigerator when the rates were at the least $130 per night! Cheaper hotels even have microwaves and refrigerators!

Great People, Some facility issues
By Catherine Clowes, 02/12/07
Be careful about getting rooms on the "inside" portion of the building. The construction is such that many rooms overlook a ballroom - inner area or the pool. The night we were there a huge party was going on. We could hardly hear our TV and then of course the noise was terrible when trying to sleep. Also it was disconcerting to wander to the window and have people look up and see you. We had to keep the light blocking curtains closed which makes the place dark and depressing in the morning. Also the hot tub was drained the entire weekend we were there. This was a huge dissapointment. The people however, were wonderful. We did get some compensation for the above complaints in the form of a free breakfast which helped ease the pain.

Great stop over!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/06
The service was great and the hotel was clean and quiet. The food at the hotel restaurant was very nice. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Friendly Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/05
I especially liked the Atrium style of the hotel. It felt very open and airy. The staff was very friendly and competent and the rooms were clean. Could have been a better value. I paid $159 a night and the average price per night is shown to be $99.

Rough start smoothed by staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/05
First let me say that the hotel was lovely and the service was top-notch. The front desk staff was very helpful, and addressed our concerns immediately. Unfortunately, we had concerns that needed to be addressed as soon as we checked. Now I understand that the hotel is not responsible for guests who do not follow the rules, but our "non-smoking" room was so smokey that my eyes burned. Also, there were cigarette ashed in the nighttable drawer. Also, someone had spilled something red & sticky in the drawer as well. The other drawers were dirty, too. And the sheets looked like they had been slept in. Finally, I am allergic to feather pillows, so I had requested foam pillows when I made my reservation online. I called the front desk, they immediately responded. We were moved into another room and given the extra pillows. The new room was much cleaner (and it was right next door!) Once our room changed, our whole attitude changed. It ended up being a great trip. The pool was great, in a beautiful room. The breakfast was delicious. And most of all, the staff was so helpful & courteous. Despite the rough start, I would recommend this hotel & would stay here again.

Late Arrival Surprises
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/05
Because of the busy day that I had, I knew that I would be arrivng at the Renaissance Hotel late, c. 11 PM. I had an early flight the next morning, so I had a few hours of rest before getting up at 4 AM. My surprises were positive. The service at the desk was cordial, fast and helpful. I learned that transportation to the airport was 20 hour service every 20 minutes. This put to rest my fears about having to leave the hotel at 5 AM for a 7 AM flight. The second surprise was the beautiful room that I stayed in. I wish that I had more time to enjoy the comfort of the room. My third surprise was that at 5 AM the lobby was filled with people waiting for transportation just like me. The first bus was filled quickly and the hotel said that a second bus would be there shortly...and it was. All in all my brief stay at the Renaissance Hotel at the Philly Airport was very positive.
