10 reviews for Travel Inn Chula Vista, Chula Vista
Absolutely Disgusting..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
I booked this room through Expedia for its discounted price, but I should've known better. We walked into a room that smelled of must and some rotten stink. Then I turned on the lights to find a room that looked like its gone through centuries of wear and tear and no up keep. The wallpaper was peeling all over and there was an old Zeneth TV that looked like it came from the 80s. Then I pull off the bed cover and there wasn't even a fitted sheet, just a piece of white blanket. The mattress looked like a million years old and had brownish spots all over it...the most disgusting thing ever. A refund was out of the question as there is a HUGE sign posted all across the check-in room stating "NO REFUND." I itched all night, surely of bed bugs. Please please please save yourself and do not stay here....i'm freaked out that i'm going to take bed bugs home with me and now forced to wash everything. The good reviews must be employees trying to redeem their reputation but I hope no one else get's fooled.

Save your money and time.
By nitabugg, 10/22/08
For the amount of time spent there, it was a rip off. The room smelled musty. No remote for the TV that was about as old as my grandma. The mattress box springs had rips in it(oh yes I looked before laying down). The sink area, when we ran the sink, the floor became wet from who knows where, as well as the counter. The shower had mold around it and had a smell. I am glad the carpet had a lot of color and pattern, because who knows what kind of stains were hiding there. Please save your money and try someplace else. I am not positive there were bed bugs, but it wasn't a pleasant experience at all. Will not go back if paid to do so.

Do Not Get Scammed.
By MackeyA, 07/13/08
A word of advise: Ask to see the room first, then decide if it's worth your money or your health. This place is a total scam! They have somone at the front to lie to potential guests (or should I say victims) and say that this is a great place to just lie your head and get some rest for the night. I highly doubt that the most recent good reviews on this establishment are accurate reviews from guests and not employee(s). The nasty conditions are pretty much the same as they were in 2005 with bed-bugs and much worse elements (such as urine and poop stains) that can damage health to any living creature. All the furniture in the room looked like it had come from the dump. I was in the room for no more than 5 minutes but the manager/ owner, rude as she could be, would not give me a refund. I should have known somthing was not right when I saw the no refund sign in the window when I first checked in. I demanded another clean room and she abruptly inclined. That room was worse than the first so I ended up sleeping in my car. I still did not get a refund. I should have called the police.

Would stay again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/07
Was a little concerned because the price was sooooo reasonable, but what a great surprise. So clean! there was a man cleaning outside, it seemed the whole time we were there. The staff was very nice upon checkin and gave us a $5.00 off cupon. It was close to restaurants and stores. Would stay again if I was in the area.

Good if you're on a budget
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/07
My friends and I were traveling to Tijuana, Mexico for a wedding on a Saturday and we needed a place to stay for the weekend. The hotel was nice enough. Our first room did have ants in the AC however. A quick call to the front desk and we were given another room that was very clean. The staff we encountered was very friendly and willing to meet our needs. Will stay again when in the area.

Great Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/07
I was visiting some friends in the area and didn't want to spend and a ton of money on a few nights in town. The front desk was friendly and helpful. I'm not sure where the previous posters stayed because my room was spotless! I had a brand NEW bed, (free of mites and blood sucking bugs), clean sheets and towels. The bathroom was clean and free of mold. I will stay at the travel inn again the next time I visit Chula Vista!

infestation of bugs in room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/05
I'm a out of town visitor and decided to stay at this motel for the night. I couldn’t believe I woke up with itchy red spots all over my body. I ran to the shower to find these somewhat bugs clinging to my skin and hair. I got changed and left that place. I complained to the front desk and they looked at me like I was crazy.

Disgusting Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/05
My night at the Travel Inn turned out to be a terrible unexpected experience. Everything seemed to be in order and clean, until I went to bed. I was uncomfortable sleeping, tossing and turning throughout the night. At about 2 in the morning, I got up to go to the bathroom. Once I turned on the light, I noticed blood spots on my pajama's. Frightened, I checked myself, and realized I had mites of all sizes all over me. I took a shower, and returned to the bed, tore off the sheets, and saw to my disgust that on the bed, chair ,,the room, was infested with bugs or mites. The receptionist did nothing, not even did she give me a refund. A waste of $60. It was 3 in the morning, and I had to go off and search for another place to sleep. I called the manager the next day and she simply called me a liar, ignored my complaint and denied me a refund.
