By Over charged, 01/09/10
I made arrangement for a family dinner, just find out the tip was as much as the meal, for 80 people and 3 server who served no one. Our Hospitality room was on the 8th floor and the elevator broke down the staff are not hospitable at all

The worst hotel in my life, stay away!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/09
We stayed 3 nights and would like to share our horrible experience with you. The facility and equipment was very old so that there was a very cold air draft from outside, making my family sick in the first night. We complained, requested to repair it immediately, but a maintanance guy dismissed it by saying "That is the way it is. It does not make any difference if you change the room." We need to put a makeshift insulation by ourselves in the second night. Housekeeping failed to show up in the second day, thus we got new towels and glasses from the housekeeping cart on the hall. Even they showed up in the third day, their job was very poor. That night, we noticed that the toilet is having a leaking, soiling our belongings. Our repetitive request of changing the room was finally granted, but door lock was not working well (easily frozen) so that we had to call maintanance again!! Our request of late check-out was also ignored; housekeeping kept bothering us, and they denied our card key access even before our check-out. Room service stops at 9PM and it is too early and NOT practical. Breakfast room service did not come on time; I saw that a delivery person opened the lid and did something through peep hole. I made those complains twice through the internet, requesting a contact from Holiday Inn staff. But these have been ignored for a month, suggesting that these sloppy service is system-wide across Holiday Inn. We stayed Holiday Inn across the country and did not encounter such a bad experience until this time.

Not worth it
By lauren, 07/15/09
The good thing: The beds are comfortable. The rest is a nightmare. In addition to your room charges you have to pay $18/day for parking...they forget to mention that when you make reservations. Customer service is horrible. It is a shame that so many people that stay there, like myself, are very sick and we don't have any other options that are close to the hospitals.

Would not stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/04/09
I checked into this hotel Memorial Day weekend of 2009 - My stay was from Saturday to Monday. First of all I was told that check in was 3:00 pm only to find out it was 4Pm and also was told that check out was 12 noon and it was 11AM. Parking was supposed to be $17 a night, it was $18.00 If the above was not bad enough, the room was not clean. The BATHROOM TUB and commode had HAIR from the previous tenant. I called down to the front desk to complain and no one from housekeeping ever showed up to clean the bathtub. I had to do it myself. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANY HOLIDAY INN NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS

Pittsburgh on the cheap
By Christopher, 06/01/08
You can stay here at a reasonably priced hotel with ok service. It's in the heart of the University district, Oakland. It's great location is close to all things Pittsburgh; Downtown, North Side, South Side, East End, and it's all accessable via public transportation should you choose to use it.

Good Location!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/07
Loved the hotel-since I am familiar with Pittsburgh this was the perfect location for my trip. Room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Room had a small refrig, but no microwave. One night we had a roll away bed, this was a roll away like no other. It is a twin bed on end- which is then lowered. It was very hard to place in the room. It is in a great location to visit Pitt and the museums. Did not use pool. However-the resturant is expensive and food is just average. The breakfast buffet was not offered during our stay. Hard boiled egg are $2.00 each. Coffee $2.50 per cup and a small OJ is $3.25 ( 8 oz). Oh yes-you do not know this unless you check the menu first, because the server will ask you before you can open the menu. Parking is a limited if you drive a tall truck-however we had no problems parking. Handicap parking is limited.

Nice rooms, good location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/07
The rooms was really nice and clean. And being located in downtown pittsburgh, it's close to restaurants and coffie places. With some 30 tv-channels, and good internet connection, there was no issue of being bored during the evenings.
