would stay here again
By Anna, 4/1/11
Pros: great view, room was spacious, location is close to highway and providence place is five minutes away, bed was comfy, free coffee in room, big flat screen tv, nice bath and body works toilettries, jacuzzi tub in bathroom. Cons: a few hairs on comforter, couple hairs around jacuzzi tub, jacuzzi was loud, limited room service hours, non smoking rooms only.

Don't let yourself think "it can't be that bad".
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/10
My husband collects hotel points for Radisson hotels because he stays out of town for work so often. We collected enough points for a weeks stay at a Radisson hotel. My husbands family lives in Boston, so we found this hotel was one of the ones offered that we could use our points at that was close to them. When we got to the hotel, I thought the area was nice. There is a pretty park on the water located directly in front of it. As soon as we got into the hotel, I started having doubts, but kept reminding myself that it was free. That is the only reason we stayed there. The hotel elevators were very bumpy and had grafitti carved into the elevator doors. The front desk hotel manager was very rude and not very welcoming. We were tired from our long drive across the country, so we just wanted to get up to our room, order some food, and go to bed. We ordered a Turkey Club Sandwich from the restaurant. It came and all that was on it was turkey and a tiny piece of lettuce. It was missing bacon, mayo and tomato, and this was listed in the menu. I was so tired by that point, that I had just went to bed. The next day we had time to look around more. The wall paper was peeling off the walls, the room was not cleaned good because we found garbage behind the curtains and hair all over the bathroom. Worst of all, the bathroom ceiling was leaking water right above the toilet. My husband popped up the ceiling tile and found that it was leaking from the toilet in the room above us! Also, they must have noticed this before because in the ceiling tile there were towels up there that were meant to catch the drips. Well the towels were so soaked from the water that they were now dripping through into the bathroom. I found this very disgusting, especially since the bathroom was already not clean. I have attached pictures. My husband went to tell the front hotel desk manager and her response was, " I find that very unlikely sir." My husband told her that he took pictures of it and that it better be fixed or we'd need a new room by the time we got back(we were leaving for the day). She told him there were no rooms available and they were booked solid, but she'd send maintenance up. When we came back, there was a new girl working at the desk and she gave us keys to a new "upgraded" room, free of charge. The new room was the same thing, except it had a hot tub in it. The hot tub was so dirty and stained looking, I would never set foot in it. ( I also included a picture of this.) The room also smelled of smoke, even though it's a smoke free hotel. The waitress/hostess working in the restaurant was so rude everytime we went down there that we just stopped going. One time we asked if we could just order some dessert to take up to our room and she looked at us like she was mad and asked what we wanted. I told her I did not know what they offered and could I please see a menu. She said they didnt have one and just rattled off really fast what they offered and stared at me impatiently.(there was one customer in the entire place). When she packaged it up for us, she dumped it upside down on the table and just walked away. VERY RUDE!!! One more thing that stood out was that I bought some chocolates one day and had them on the night stand. The next day we left and when we came back they were gone. At that point, I just wanted to leave and go home. It was obvious no complaining would do anything, we'd just get treated worse. Even if this was free, I would not stay here again. The hallways stunk and were not air conditioned, the rooms were musty and dirty and outdated. This place needs to shut down and fix everything before they can even think about charging people to stay at a place like this.

Look elsewhere. Do not stay here.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/09
Checked into King Jacuzzi room for 1 night. The jacuzzi had hair (yes from the head and other areas) and the shower wall had hair all over it. We were afraid to walk around in bare feet. The hotel is also not ON the harbor, but across the highway from a lonely section of harbor with not much of a view.

OK place
By the weatherman, 10/20/08
Yea, there's a lot of construction around this place & on the nearby highway (and there will be for quite some time to come), but this place was clean and quiet for me (I faced the harbor though). They have a large parking area, but you basically can't walk anywhere from here as it's in a seedy portion of town on the bad end of the harborfront in Providence. You may have to finagle your way off the highway to get here as well. I had a good experience sleeping here, but that's all that I did here.

Mold-Construction- Noise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/21/08
6/19/2008 Pix misleading, right off I95, with construction out the front side starts @ 7am & interstate off the back side of hotel. View of chemical tanks on bay. Room was small. "Number" beds, didnt work put bed @ 50 & kept going up to 80 on its own. Bathroom had mold around tub & ceiling. Carpet had stains. TV remote didn't work to well. Tub drain plugged, came to fix it, & didn't. Phones in room don't work unless you push line 1 or line 2. A/C doesn't work for 6 minutes till after you turn it on & it smells as if somone dumped carpet fresh in it. As it blows out "odor" all nite. It only runs for a minute, shuts off, clanging metal, & starts up in 6 minutes & goes thru the whole cycle all nite long!!!!!!! On/off, on/off, etc Definitely find somewhere else to stay. Noisy & hard to breath in room, windows do not open.

Sleep Somewhere Else!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/07
The ads are totally misleading. You cannot walk anywhere because the hotel is right next to the freeway, in a dark industrial area with construction. Our room faced the freeway, and the noise was deafening all night long. You have to wait for the hotel shuttle to take you to downtown Providence, then you have to wait for the same shuttle to pick you up. We missed our train to Boston because the shuttle driver made us wait too long. I am a diabetic and reserved a refrigerator. When we checked in, I was told that all the fridges were spoken for, even though I had reconfirmed the fridge the day before we checked in. Don't stay at this Radisson unless you have your own car, and you have ear plugs, and make sure that your room does not face the freeway. We will never ever stay there again. I give this rating a Zero. Pay more and stay at the Westin in Downtown Providence. Also keep in mind that the Radisson will not take you to the airport. You have to pay for a $30 cab ride. All in all, the value was not there.

Some good, some not so good.
By Karyn, 1/5/07
I've seen lots of negative reviews but this hotel really isn't so bad (and I can be pretty picky). Here's a list of considerations: _Pros_ 1. Luxurious beds -- very nice luxurious bedding including a nicely warm down comforter. Sleep Number bed for programmable firmness. (This glorified air mattress could have used a cushiony top, but otherwise was pretty cool.) 2. Bathroom was very very nice -- showerhead gave a perfect, high pressure spray. Wonderful little free toiletries including an impressive natural oatmeal exfoliating body bar. 3. Free shuttle service all over city - quite necessary given the location of the Radisson (see below). 4. Courteous service - everyone I spoke with was quite nice. _Cons_ 1. Location, location, location! As others have noted, this is right next to the freeway in the midst of ongoing construction. (But, you'll note looking around Providence that it is so small and compact that I-95 always seems to be really nearby.) This became a problem for me when I realized I'd forgotten my toothpaste, the hotel had run out, and I needed to walk to the nearest pharmacy to get some. The first five minutes of walking through the underpass construction area at night were a little sketchy! The nearest pharmacy and supermarket are about a 15-20 minute walk, each way. 2. Radisson appears built from an old warehouse. And with an old warehouse comes... drafts. I could not control the temperature in my room because there was a constant cold draft coming into the room right underneath the window heating unit. The heating unit couldn't sense the temp of the room so just kept running and running until temp was up to 80 degrees or so! Finally I stuffed extra pillows under the heating unit, turned it off, and huddled under the covers, and that was fine. It didn't get too cool (in early January). (I could have complained and perhaps gotten a better room, but was already settled in, so just examine your room carefully and ask for a change if you need it.) 3. Very few TV channels, only about 12 or so. Includes HBO at least. 4. They have a spa but it was "closed for maintenance" when I was there in early January. For the price, comparatively speaking, you'd probably do pretty well here. Providence is not a city with a very good public transit service, so the free shuttle service is a big plus over smaller, boutique hotels that might be a bit more consistent in their delivery of service.

Reasonable price, but lower your expectations!
By Fortis, 11/15/05
This was our second visit to this Radisson this year. On our first visit, a few months ago, we were placed on a lower floor, and it wasn't great with peeling wallpaper, and a not too comfortable bed. We had to pay for bottled water in the room, and few extra amenities, beyond free parking. I was surprised to learn that this was a former Days's Inn. It is on a commercial waterfront, and not much of a view from any vantage point. In fact, when you drive to this location, you have to pass through a run down construction area that makes you feel a bit unsafe. It is no wonder they have shuttle van service, but it can be unreliable, especially when you want a pick-up back to the hotel. We waited an hour for a return trip back to the hotel from church services on a Sunday morning, and we had to make 3 calls to the front desk. The driving distance to the hotel from the church was less than 7 minutes away. The driver forgot where he left us off that morning, went back to the wrong church, and forgot about us. On our second visit, we did get a room on the 5th floor, and had to use a special elevator key for the "Executive Room area" on the 5th and 6th levels. The room was as small as our previous room, but it did have a jacuzzi, and this time the bottled water was free. The bed felt uncomfortable and sagged toward the center. They are supposed to put new beds in later. Once again,on this second visit, the shuttle van service was good getting us to our destination, but very slow for pick-up back to the hotel. I would not trust it at night. We were offered a free breakfast the next morning in compensation for the very late pick-up, but we were leaving that day. We were offered extra points on our Radisson card. The front desk is fairly attentive and understanding, and the house staff are kind. From what I have heard and read from other reviewers, the rooms could use a major face-lift. It is a fair place to stay if you can get a good discount through an agency, but it is not a three star hotel. It is just adequate to meet basic needs.

Very clean and new !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/05
We came to the hotel for a Convention in town and we had a very nice stay. The breakfast and dinners were fantastic !! The beds were very comfortable. Some road construction being done, so it was a bit of a detour to find, but we did not mind.
