Decent motel, but with one significant problem

The motel is in a very convenient location for driving and public transportation, and is next door to a restaurant with the best pancakes I've ever had. Also, it's a fairly decent place to stay. HOWEVER, management policy infringes upon customer security by making photo-copies of both the driver's license and credit card, and keeping them until checkout. During this interval, the customer's personal identity, including everything on the face of the driver's license, is at risk. Management can certainly assure its own security with much less invasiveness.

Stay Away!

Upon check-in, the clerk behind the desk took my credit card and walked away. I didn't think twice about it until a few days later when my credit card company called me to let me know that the card had been used without my authorization. The clerk behind the counter evidently photocopied the card (including the security code) and went on a $2610.00 shopping spree! This hotel is truly a rip-off!!!! Buyer beware!!!!!

The Worst Hotel Ever!

This hotel was trouble from the moment we checked in. We were sent to a room that was still being cleaned. The hotel was under construction and the elevator did not work so we had to pack our luggage up some dingy steps. After about 45 minutes we were transfered to another room. We requested a rollaway bed which took about 5 hours to get to us. The pool and hot tub were under construction as was the whole hotel. This caused us power outages and very very noisy conditions. The mattress had springs poking out of it. The breakfast was a disaster! I do not recommened staying at this hotel. I have stayed at many Best Westerns and this one is the absolute worst!

What a headache

We had nothing but problems when we stayed here. The staff did a poor job and bothered us daily with construction. I would never stay here again. We were disappointed because other Best Westerns have been lovely, but this experience has changed our opinion.

i wouldn't go there!

the hotel was dirty. the front desk was very rude. theshower curtain was moldy. the carpet was damp. the elevator smelled bad. the spa water had green stuff in it. toliet ran and loud too. the tv didn't have a remote control. the towels where thin. bathtubs had paint chipping everywhere! we checked out right away and never coming back!

Excellent Value

This place is a very good freindly clean place to stay,I was at another motel just down the road that was absolutly Filthy, when I went to get Mcdonalds for lunch I called in to this place and asked the prices, they where cheaper than the hovel down the road, and had a microwave cable tv! I highly recomend This place and if Im ever back in the area I will stop here, Thank you Kelli Green you where the most helpful freindly person I came accross on my trip to the USA, Definantly worth stopping in here. Lots of amenities for a budget price

This motel featured a lot of amenities one would expect from more expensive accommodations. Each room has a good-sized refrigerator and a microwave, and there is a well-maintained pool and spa. The beds are comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast is better than most. The rates are quite reasonable, mostly because the location is hardly scenic. The motel is located in a working community, and the surrounding area is gritty and ordinary. However, the motel really is not far from any number of San Diego area attractions, and it's close to the Mexican border, as well. The staff seemed friendly enough and I could see maintenance staff hard at work keeping the motel in top shape. All in all, this is not "The Ritz," but guests are not paying those kinds of prices, either.

gone down hill since Mike left

When I stayed there a few years ago and Mike was the GM the motel was very well run erin was a sweetheart the rooms were clean they had restaurant referrals and discounts set for restaurants in the area, maps Now the place is dirty, the staff and owners are rude, No discounts anymore the restaurants quit offering them after Mike left, The rates are moderate until the summer or an event in town then they hink They Are The Marriott I will not be back Mike O'neal

An OK hotel for an OK price.

I had to receive several faxed messages during my eight day stay. The hotel staff was very helpful. It is not a Marriot Hotel, but the price is not a Marriot price either. I would return.
