Motel 6 Austin Central - South/University of Texas, Austin

We came down to Austin for the live bands, after driving for 4 hours we thought it would be easy to find a hotel, Well it was easy to find them but most of the hotel's and motel's prices were way over priced (double and tripled in price) Motel 6 had the bestprice for 3 people we were charged $55.00. The room was standard Motel room nothing fancy. which was fine for us that need a place to stay for 1 night. The staff was very friendly. out side the motel it looked pretty scary, don't exspect curb appeal. I felt better when I saw a police man on duty walking around. one last thing, though out the night once we returned to the motel from dancing. There was a man that called the room 4 times wanting to talk and hook up...he sound just like the clerk that checked us in. over all for a one night stay, just a place to crash it was not to bad. for a longer stay you may want to check into something that seems safer..

I couldn't even understand the people that answered the phone, due to not being able to speak english. They also have false avertisment about the pricing for a room, they try and charge u more that what is listed. Its a scam!!!!!!

My friend and I stayed here for one night and the motel was decent. The wireless internet signal where we were (and paid $2.99 for) was very weak and was in and out, so I would not recommend paying for it. There are a lot of wi-fi hotspots in Austin, so go for those, including a Starbucks not too far from the motel. Otherwise though, it was clean and comfortable, as was the pool. The service was friendly as well. No loud noise, and it appeared the rooms had been recently renovated (maybe in the past year or two). Not the Ritz, but certainly a good stay for a night if on a budget, was my friend and I were. Convenient too - right off of I-35.
