El Panama Hotel, Panama City

I like the location it was in the center of everything that I needed to do, when I book another trip to Panama that's my first choice. I dont think I dislike anything about the Hotel.

This hotel is situated in downtown Panama, approximately 25 miutes from the airport. It is the oldest hotel in Panama, but despite the remodelling and updates over the years, it has managed to keep it's classical and 'old world' charm. The rooms are large and well decorated, the staff are all very friendly and service is prompt and efficient. Breakfast (which is usually incuded in the hotel price) is a wonderful buffet - full of Panamanian delicacies and other North American and European fare. The choice of restaurants in the hotel was great - two by the pool, and the other inside the main hotel, which has Happy Hour and Latin music and dancing at night.

I like the "Latin American businessman" feel of this place! Most of the rooms are huge, in the main building not out by the pool, and pleasantly furnished. We stay there 3 or 4 times a year on our way through the city to stay in the countryside. The breakfast buffet is great, lots of fruits, breads, omelettes and Central American traditional food. The staff don't speak much English and housekeeping ranges from immediate attention to many phone calls to get something done. Don't get the hotel to call you a taxi though as just off the property you will pay half as much for a ride anywhere. The location is really good as you are near all the banking, shops, restaurants and businesses. The pool and poolside cafe are very relaxing and a large open space in the middle of the city.

I HAVE BEEN IN OTHER HOTELS IN PANAMA CITY BUT MY FAMILY LOVE THE PANAMA HOTEL BECAUSE IS VERY FUN FOR THE KIDS. THEY COULD WALK FROM THE ROOM TO THE POOL (WE STAYED AT THE CABANAS). AND THE FOOD AT THE "BOHIO" IS GREAT!!! A VERY FUN AND INFORMAL HOTEL. GREAT FOR VACATION!!!

Very good central location with all the amenities of a 4 star hotel. Very nice pool. However, room service was lacking (on 2 occasions) and money was stolen from my room. The hotel said they would investigate but kept saying "tomorrow" and promised to let me know the putcome. That was 2 weeks ago!. It is a good hotel but hold on to your purse and go out and eat - don't rely on the hotel service.

A good location! My room was spacious and nice. I had room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner during my stay there, inexpensive by American standards. Service was fast and excellent. El Panama has large, open hallways on the hotel, so the wind breeze comes in, which is great.

I like everything, food, nail salon, service location. The food was very tasty and the service at the nail salon was very nice, the place was clean and the employees were very nice.

We loved the Health Spa becaeuse it gave own marriage the kick it needed.
