Rob in California
I came to Isernia to decompress from an overfilled choir tour in the North (Rome & Florence). I stayed for two nights and slept entirely too much. The La Tequila is outside of the center of town on a hill that overlooks Isernia. There was lots of development going on in the immediate area, so expect more than the dusty, construction filled road I saw. The rooms are nicely paneled with good ventilation and superior climate controls. I think that I got maid service twice a day, but that may be a sleep induced hallucination. They have a good-sized swimming pool that is open to the public, so it fills up with attractive Italian women in the afternoon (maybe men too, but I did not notice). The pool has an adjacent bar/snack bar so beers or ice creams all round. The hotel claims to serve dinner, I was never in the dining area in the evening so can attest to neither the quality nor the presence of food, but have no reason to doubt them. Expect little to no English spoken (I did not try German). Also do not expect to see any English channels on the TV. All this could have changed, of course. Isernia is kind of a backwater with nothing much to recommend it (except just that). If I were to go back, I'd stay there again.
