Disgusting, Terrible, Etc.

I am not sure what hotel the other reviewers here are referring to or if they were paid to leave their reviews but they are completely wrong. I have had to stay at this hotel many, many times over the past year and a half. I live out of state and work in the area. I have never stayed any shorter amount of time than two weeks. Please, I beg of you, do some research on this hotel and read other reviews than what you find on here. I am currently working on business pricing with other hotels in the area as I can not bear to go back to this one again. I am just your basic, low key person...not hard to please at all. But this place is nasty. Seriously, I have stayed in every building they have on this property and it has always been bad. The nicest room I had was a penthouse that was given to me for one night due to raccoons in the attic of the room I was first placed in. - smells bad - furniture ripped up, torn, worn - kitchen in need of major upgrade - very few kitchen utensils - most appliances do not work - breakfast is good, dinner is bland - was told five minutes before "the posted time to eat" that I was not allowed to have a can of coke and would have to get it out of the vending machine - pool only open few hours during the afternoon - hot tub usually non-functioning, have to constanty add water, only got in one time in approximately 12 stays - beds are TERRIBLE -bathrooms are moldy and disgusting - balconies are not safe - work out area is a joke, one tredmill and one eliptical in room too small for more than two people at a time, not air conditioned - bugs walking around of all types, actually left a spider and web in the corner of the kitchen last time to catch the other bugs - bathroom shower enclosure in several rooms melted from candles? - bathroom wallpaper molded and falling down in most bathrooms. Granted I usually stay in the one bedroom room. The others are larger but I don't think they are in any better quality. In the summer, it can also be quite loud. Many families with kids stay here and if anyone is outside of your room, you can hear it. Second floor is better than first, you don't hear the person above you. However, you have to carry your bags up a flight of wooden outside stairs to your room, no help provided. Not a terrible thing to do....unless it is raining or snowing and then it gets a little difficult and scary. I usually fill the vents full of dryer sheets when I arrive just to try and make it smell better. I have never attempted to use the fireplace! You have to pay for the internet connection. In all of my stays, I have yet to have a connection that worked. You have to sit at the kitchen bar to use the connection. If you have problems, you are told to call an outside internet company who will do nothing to help. Every time I stay, I end up speaking with others that are staying for an extended period of time and eventually they always get around to telling me how terrible they think this place is. I am being brutally honest here, I know what it is like to have a nice place to lay your head when traveling. I just really don't think this is the place where you want to spend your money. Each time I go in, I tell myself that it's not that bad and I only have to be there for a week or so. Well, this time, I'm done, staying somewhere else. Within an hour of arriving I realize just how bad it really is.
