I wouldn't stay here again
By golfgrll, 6/25/10
The room was smelly and looking bad. The beds were old and dirty and furniture too. Carpet was torn. The ceiling had mildew on it. There were flies in the room. There was no ice bucket. The breakfest only had hash browns and eggs. The eggs were bad. the hash browns were not that great. I wouldn't stay here again.

awful service
By irisheyesny, 8/15/07
I wrote a review but it is gone so I will write it again. We drove from upstate NY for a convention I had two rooms booked we got there and first they said we only had one booked I went online to show them there were two then they tell me that they didn't have a room for us that night. I said why we had the reservation.they said "we had people that wanted to stay longer" HUH? what are reservations for? So we had to go to another hotel then the next day go to our convention with everything back in the car then move back to their hotel.. there were four of us and none of us will ever go back,, they acted like it was our fault.. and the rooms really needed some updating..

Not quite as described.....
I have stayed at this property regularly. Several times a year, childrens weddings, we housed out of town guests even for funerals where people were coming in town. But, this is not the homey place it used to be. My last two visits the penthouse suites I've had have had dirty carpet, been missing supplies either in the kitchen or in the bathrooms. Phones were not plugged in and/or when we connected them they didn't work. My last visit this weekend, there were what seemed to be late teens early 20'ers renting rooms to party. At 2 AM when we finally could not stand it anymore we had to call multiple times to the desk to get any action, and then it was an elderly guard who couldn't get the residents of the room in question to answer the door. He shouted to them from outside and the kids stood and shouted from the inside of their unit and I could hear them in mine, across a stairwell. Nothing ever happened. Unacceptable. They would not reduce the cost of my stay but offered a free night. Of course, why would I stay when I wouldn't be sure I could get any sleep? I believe my stays have ended. This is a nice place, becoming run down and no action is being taken to uphold the service and not enough to keep up the property.

Just like home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/06
The suite was excellent, clean, spacious, and just what we needed for two couples. We attended a car show during our stay and the staff was very accomodating and friendly. I would recomend this establishment to anyone. I did see the bad review and can not imagine how this person found this hotel to be bad. We are looking forward to returning next year during the car show.

Disgusting, Terrible, Etc.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/06
I am not sure what hotel the other reviewers here are referring to or if they were paid to leave their reviews but they are completely wrong. I have had to stay at this hotel many, many times over the past year and a half. I live out of state and work in the area. I have never stayed any shorter amount of time than two weeks. Please, I beg of you, do some research on this hotel and read other reviews than what you find on here. I am currently working on business pricing with other hotels in the area as I can not bear to go back to this one again. I am just your basic, low key person...not hard to please at all. But this place is nasty. Seriously, I have stayed in every building they have on this property and it has always been bad. The nicest room I had was a penthouse that was given to me for one night due to raccoons in the attic of the room I was first placed in. - smells bad - furniture ripped up, torn, worn - kitchen in need of major upgrade - very few kitchen utensils - most appliances do not work - breakfast is good, dinner is bland - was told five minutes before "the posted time to eat" that I was not allowed to have a can of coke and would have to get it out of the vending machine - pool only open few hours during the afternoon - hot tub usually non-functioning, have to constanty add water, only got in one time in approximately 12 stays - beds are TERRIBLE -bathrooms are moldy and disgusting - balconies are not safe - work out area is a joke, one tredmill and one eliptical in room too small for more than two people at a time, not air conditioned - bugs walking around of all types, actually left a spider and web in the corner of the kitchen last time to catch the other bugs - bathroom shower enclosure in several rooms melted from candles? - bathroom wallpaper molded and falling down in most bathrooms. Granted I usually stay in the one bedroom room. The others are larger but I don't think they are in any better quality. In the summer, it can also be quite loud. Many families with kids stay here and if anyone is outside of your room, you can hear it. Second floor is better than first, you don't hear the person above you. However, you have to carry your bags up a flight of wooden outside stairs to your room, no help provided. Not a terrible thing to do....unless it is raining or snowing and then it gets a little difficult and scary. I usually fill the vents full of dryer sheets when I arrive just to try and make it smell better. I have never attempted to use the fireplace! You have to pay for the internet connection. In all of my stays, I have yet to have a connection that worked. You have to sit at the kitchen bar to use the connection. If you have problems, you are told to call an outside internet company who will do nothing to help. Every time I stay, I end up speaking with others that are staying for an extended period of time and eventually they always get around to telling me how terrible they think this place is. I am being brutally honest here, I know what it is like to have a nice place to lay your head when traveling. I just really don't think this is the place where you want to spend your money. Each time I go in, I tell myself that it's not that bad and I only have to be there for a week or so. Well, this time, I'm done, staying somewhere else. Within an hour of arriving I realize just how bad it really is.
