River View Resort, Bethel

River view resort is the worst resort I have ever stayed in. It should be illegal for RCI to recommend this resort, the A/C was stuck to 63 and you could not change it the only choice was to close it, but the rooms would smell moldy. There was only one bathroom for the family so the were lines, the water heater and the storm windows were in the closet of the main bedroom there was very little room left for clothes. The people were friendly but it didn’t change the fact that this was a motel and is still a motel. There is nothing to do over there even the mall only opens 3 days a week. To have some fun we drove about 2 hours to get to Portland and other places, if you go during the winter and like to sky it will be better for you as for us we will never again use RCI for our vacations.

We stayed at the resort for two nights over April school vacation. Rooms are dated but clean. Awesome view from the back deck great walking/ fishing out back to! don't listen to the guy who says the river is a half hour away. It is about a 4 minute walk. Pool was not 80 degrees as they say hot tub was off when we arrived. Over all I would go back but would probably pass on the time share.

We thought we'd exchanged into the Bethel Inn and Resort (a Gold Crown resort) but apparently there was a misunderstanding, and we were foolish enough not to check our confirmation closely when we got it. In all our years of timeshare exchanging (about 15) we have never been so disappointed. This is a converted 2-star motel, and if there were any recent renovations, I saw none. Our one-bedroom unit was shabby-looking, with worn, stained carpet and upholstery, and it had a musty smell. The bathroom was mildewed and had small unidentified bugs in the sink. There was a full kitchen but with older appliances. The location was right on a busy road with little local interest, and there appeared to be little or no onsite activities. Perhaps the town of Bethel would have been worth visiting, and in all fairness, I imagine there's more to do here in ski season. But we didn't stick around long enough to find out. We checked out after just one night, and found a nice Hampton Inn hotel in Waterville to spend the rest of our vacation.

Clean, friendly and courteous! There are allot of places to stay in the Bethel area but the Riverview has become our second home! They're centrally located, very easy to get to and incredibly affordable only minutes from Bethel Village, Sunday River Ski Resort, Ski Mt Abram SKi, BlacK Mtn. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, Wi-Fi; and what a great pooland whirlpool to end the day in! When you're ready to eat, the local restaurants can satisfy any craving!
