Great place to stay with kids
By ,
The parking is in the back with the rooms having a front and back door so unloading was a breeze! The rooms were nice size though the bathrooms could use updating. The front doors open to a big grassy area where kids can play along with basketball, horseshoes, miniature golf and the pool. You can bring lawn charis to sit on the "porch" area and enjoy the relaxing. The kids LOVED the teepees out front and the minitature town to investigate. The pool is a little small but there weren't many other guests enjoying it the times we were there. The horseback riding was amazing! You could not have more convenience to entertain kids (9,6,4,2) than petting horses and taking a short ride. The trails are through nice wooded areas. The kids had such a great time with all these attractions it was a little hard to get them to go to the Grand Canyon the next day! The breakfast voucher thing was a little odd...I am not sure why they can't ask you if you want breakfast when you check in and get them then but whatever. If you have kids, I would bring breakfast and eat outside. We accidentally left our daughter's pillow there and took one of theirs and initially were told that we would be charged $200 since they didn't want it back for fear of where it had been but after speaking with the owner we will trade pillow and there will be no charge. I would have been very upset about that so be sure not to swipe a pillow!! Overall, we had a great expereince and it was much more than just a place to sleep while visiting the Grand Canyon. We look forward to another stay (when we get our pillow back!)

Great for Polar Express Weekend Getaway
By ,
We live in Arizona and saw this hotel was advertising a great package for a weekend getaway during the Polar Express. Several of us stayed at the hotel and had such a great experience. The hotel was nicely decorated with a Christmas theme which the kids very much enjoyed. The food was exellent and staff very friendly. We will return in the summer when it's warm and we can take in the outdoor activities they have to offer. We only wished they had a hot breakfast in the morning vs. free continental.

Great fun for family!
By ,
We had a wonderful stay at the Mountain Ranch Resort while vacationing at the Grand Canyon with our family. We have three small children and they absolutely loved playing on the grounds and loved the horses on site. Our room was a newly remodeled room that came with breakfast and a $30.00 food credit that could be used every night we stayed. The food was great and we very much enjoyed the all you can eat crab legs special on Saturday night! Staff was very helpful and very pleasant. There is a $5 fee for the fitness center, but well worth it, not your typical hotel fitness facility. When asked why there was a fee the front desk advised it is a privately owned club that the locals use and they allow the hotel guests to use it for a fee.

A dump
By ,
This place has obviously gone down hill since the 2006 and 2007 reviews. We were supposed to stay here 2 nites. We tried to go to another hotel but because it was July 4th weekend all hotels were full. We left the next day for our next destination. It is rundown and should not be named a resort. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

Wouldn't go back.
By ,
We spent 4 nights there in Sept. 09 for commutes to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Sedona. We were told to park in the back, which I imagine everyone is, but the horse corrals were there and instead of cleaning up the manure, they just shovel it outside of the corral. Huge heaps of manure were piled up there and the smell in the parking lot was obnoxious. Our room was above and just over from the restaurant and they ran some kind of exhaust fan during the day and it was loud. Most of the hotels we stayed in on this trip had laundry facilities for the guests, this one did not. And being the closest town was over 7 miles away, getting some laundry done was a problem. Upon check in, we were were given a $30 meal voucher for their restaurant, but we were not told that it could only be used on the evening of our check in. We had saved it for our last night there. There was some problem with using the voucher, but it was corrected after the owners were contacted. Also, we were given breakfast vouchers but one of us went to have a continental breakfast and had forgotten the ticket and was not allowed to eat. We found out that only the people that were in suites were allowed to use the continental breakfast. We were in a suite, but found their breakfast policy odd. All the rest of the hotels we stayed in on that 15 night trip had free continental breakfasts for all of the guests. The hotel is pet friendly and there are many areas to walk your dogs. That part was good, as we traveled with two dogs. The room could have used some updating but was not an unpleasant room. All in all, it probably wasn't worth the money we spent.

I Will Never Return
By ,
I disliked the fact that the staff was snooty and the Plumbing was outdated. The experience was not fun. It was not worth our time or money. We were told that the exercise room was for the owners use only. The ice machine was broken. I nearly slipped up in the outdated tub and had to lean to reach the shower nozel.

Best Ever
By ,
Our stay at the Quality Inn Mountain Ranch Resort was more than just a stop-over while on vacation. We were there during the first week in August, 2007 and we are trying to get there again soon. We had driven from Sedona and were very tired. The Inn seemed like a haven. The first night in the resturant was a delight, from the food - to our waiter, Miguel(who was excellant) to the fantastic entertainment - Omar DeLeon. We enjoyed the second evening even more. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the grounds were beautiful - even the teepees out front. My friend and I were on a "Chick Trip" and felt totally safe at this location. Saundra B. Fabulous!!
This was by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The onsite horseback riding was an unusual perk for a hotel and just made it even more special. The view was breathtaking and the location perfect. Close to Williams, but far enough away to be peaceful. The sunrise over the mountains was the most enjoyable scenery to go with my morning coffee. I could go on and on, and HIGHLY recommend this place if you're in the area. Everyone was so friendly, from the hotel staff to the girl we talked to at the stables. Williams is a very cool town on Rt. 66 and if in the area you don't want to miss the Quality Inn! They also allow pets and there was plenty of room for our dog to run.

Very Surprised & Pleased!
By ,
I was sceptical about a motel with TeePees in the front as I imagined visions of a run down 1950's era Route 66 inn. I booked it anyway as we needed a pet friendly motel and we were very pleased! Being 7 miles East of Williams was a good thing. The peace and quiet were great. The property sits well back from I-40 at the edge of tall pines. We heard no highway noise at all. The room was not new, but it was fresh and roomy. It did NOT smell like a dog kennel. The employees there were very receptive to our Wheaten Terrier. We stayed two nights, and asked that housekeeping NOT run the vacuum in the room while we were gone for a day and Cassidy was shut in her crate. That request was granted. Here is the best surprise. Their restaurant was excellent!! I am a picky, even snobby restaurant eater. The place was roomy and clean with linen table cloths. Miguel our waiter was among the best I ever been served by . . . the perfect combination of attention and concern without being overbearing. Had the salmon the first night, and it was perfect! I never had better even in San Diego or Seattle! My wife ordered a beef strips and spring greens salad with balsamic dressing and crumbled blue cheese. Very unique and ample, and she loved it! Second night is was prime rib and again it was as ordered and wonderfull!! This property is perfect for a "base camp" from which to explore the Grand Canyon and surrounding attractions. We WILL be back!

Resort
By ,
My wife and I along with another couple (All over 70 years of Age) were well satified with this resort and will stay here again if we travel in this area. The Owner along with his employees are very good and will go out of their way to make your stay with them enjoyable and as they advertise. Thanks again to Mr Rotter and his staff. Jim
