Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket

Me and my wife came from the US and got married (Beach Wedding) at Cape Panwa. The staff was very nice and they did everything to accomodate our stay and our wedding. The planning for the wedding was very smooth and all we had to do was pick from a list the things we wanted for both the reception and wedding veremony. We could also modify it if we wanted to, but we pretty much stuck with what they had. The food was great (the breakfast buffett is very impressive) and the rooms were very nice. I don't have the experience that other's had that the rooms were not clean as our room was very clean. It should be noted that there is an old and a new part of the hotel. Some friends stayed at the older part, but this looked nice and clean to me. This is a great place for families with kids since it's not too crowded and the beach is private. There isn't too much else around the hotel, but there is a free shuttle bus over the hill (2-3 minute ride) where there are some more shops and restaurants. Phuket Aquarium is right here. There are also a lot of taxi boats that can be rented (cheaply) for a day to nearby islands. We didn't do this, but I talked to someone who did this to Coral Island and had a great time. Patong Beach is about 30-40 minutes away I vaguely remember, and if you are going to Thailand to party, Patong is the place to be.

Like: clear sea water, best for snorkelling. fun activities. delicious food in the hotel. relaxing spa and massage.fun jacuzzi Dislike: a lot of houseflies, lizards,spiders,huge red ants and mosquitoes. Not clean enough.

i had no dislikes about cape panwa,don't understand people who have bad things to say about this hotel.i have stayed at cape panwa 5 times for 14 nights each time and i love it,it is so welcoming it has spoiled me even to consider a holiday anywhere else.i have made a lot of good friends at this hotel and would urge anyone to visit for a holiday.

It was a delight to stay here: clean comfortable rrooms, good staff, excellent facilities, wonderful views, a secluded location (but with the ability to get where you want): my only grouse (which would lead me to give four-and-a-half stars if I could) is that the hotel restaurant meals are on the pricey side. My advice: if you're going at a hot time, as we did, find the extra cash and take a "one bedroom jaccuzzi suite" - extra space and facilities, a bigger balcony with better view (they put the suites on the top floor) and - wonderful! - your own personal jaccuzzi on the balcony.

we liked everything about this hotel its was amazing and we cant wait to go back and see all the staff they were excellent. the food was amazing the weather was amazing and the rooms are amazing !

We loved the private beach at night as all the walkways were lit beautifully and the palm trees looked fantastic and the thai panwa house was superb. It is a tireing walk down to the beach but you can take the tram although it does stop operateing at around 10-11pm. The sea was not ideal for swimming in as you had to go in at certain times of the day, not ideal when you have a small child. You get pot luck which rooms you are allocated and you may end up with a view of the deep sea harbour which is host to a number of large ships!!!...not what you want to see or hear for that matter when you want a relaxing holiday. The hotel is about 30 minutes drive away from the nearest night life and it can get costly taking taxis each time you go out, you can hire a car but unless you are a brave and experienced driver I would so not advise that. The thai people drive with their own rules! Its is a lot cheaper to eat out rather than choose somewhere at the hotel but don't forget you have to pay for a taxi to and from your destination. I do hope the thai people do not allow many more people to buy the land which was destroyed by the tsunami as it seemed that there was so many buildings going up that looked out of place and was destroying what is left of this beautiful island. Our verdict is try it but you might not like it. Hands up to the thai people though, they are the most friendly on earth!

dependant on your religous take we may never get to heaven. Time spent in cape panwa is the nearest most of us will get to paradise.everything about the place exudes pleasure.the staff are absolutely magnificent. In nine visits i have never heard a voice raised in anger,seen any unpleasantness or loutish behaviour which is common place in the uk.a lovely atmosphere prevails about time spent in cape panwa. Cape panwa is good for your spirit and indeed your overall health.if you do not enjoy your time there you must be hard to please.

We stayed at Cape Panwa for 10 days with our 4 year old daugther. The location is quiet and the setting is beautiful. The beach always had chairs and the pools were very clean. The room was clean and had all the necessary amenities + a lovely balcony. The Breakfast display is very good but in general the food (be it Thai, French, Italian, or Continental) is slightly dissapointing. We have been living in Italy for a while so we might be difficult to please on the food side. We were however quite dissapointed on several occasions with the service. The staff speak English poorly to a point that causes confusion and dispair. We waited for 30 minutes for a milkshake to come (and with a 4 year old that is a long 30 minutes); we had staff hang up on us while waiting to hear wether our laundry was ready or not. I tried to rent a movie (as it poured rain for 4 days) and was first asked by the receptionist if I wanted to move rooms, then when I said no, I was asked if I wanted a wake up call, followed with a second person coming to my assistance to show me a list of possible movies only to find out that I could get the movie the next day. The rooms were rarely ready and clean before the afternoon. If the service were to improve (and the manager did say that he had a problem with many new staff who had just begun) this would be a perfect holiday.

We loved the sense of peace at this hotel. It is situated in a former coconut plantation with a private beach sheltered by palms. The sun loungers are set under the trees and the beach was never crowded. Lovely soft clean sand and bath-warm sea! The staff at this hotel are exceptional: so friendly. We were sad to come home and will definitely return. Our only criticism is not of the hotel, but of its location - a bit cut off from everywhere else with few local restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and comfortable (hard beds!) and the swimming pools are excellent. Our children (10 and 7) loved the fact that the resident monkeys come down to the beach bar every day. You can also see geckos and monitor lizards and there's a coral reef to walk to offshore when the tide is out. No riptides here, so very safe for swimming. Our son enjoyed the banana boat and waterskiing. Restaurants quite good but lacking in atmosphere. If you want to get out and about you can use the expensive hotel taxi service, or take the free shuttle bus down to The Bay Hotel and get a tout. Alternatively, there's a fantastic local guy, Mr Mor, with a new people carrier who speaks good English and charges v reasonable rates. We were most impressed with Cape Panwa Hotel in every way. It is a truly beautiful part of the island and we liked its hillside position with spectaular views through the palm trees down to the sea. A perfect place to really relax and lose all senses of time in a wonderful exotic atmosphere. We stayed in a two-bedroom villa which was most comfortable and decorated with elegant taste. The food was superb. The staff is charming and almost obstruding attentive and polite in an easy understated way and made our stay a really memorable one.
