24 hours with no toilet (no refund)
I stayed at this hotel in 2006, and found it fairly clean, and good enough for its inexpensive price. So I returned in 2007, and found the experience terrible. The room was dirty, with pizza sauce stuck to the table. And the bathtub had a permanent layer of dirt.
The toilet backed up that night. We finally got someone to "fix" it at about 10:00PM. A guy showed up with a plunger, splashed toilet water all over our bathroom, then told us it was fixed.
The next morning, it still wasn't fixed. I had to be somewhere early in the morning, so I opted to use the bathroom across the street at Dunkin Donuts. When I got back to the hotel at noon, I asked to check out a night early. They refused. I told them I was more than reasonable by paying full price for a night in a room that didn't have a working toilet. And I asked that they would be reasonable and give us our money back for the following, which we didn't intend to stay. They still refused.
The best they could do was give us a 5 dollar refund. I finally told her that the room was filthy, and I would never return. She said, "THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE SAYS."
