Avoid this hotel
By Jason, 8/30/10
Stayed one night with some friends for a football game in Austin. As soon as we got there i was shocked to learn that we would be paying an extra 25 dollars just to park in the hotel parking lot. Also you will be paying an extra $10 for internet access. As previously stated not within walking distance of any kind of convience store or restuarant. The shower had very soft water to the point that you could not get the soap washed after a shower. After 2am the hotel turned into a frat house with drunken college kids screaming and running the halls. Smelled like marijuana on our floor very badly. After all these wonderful experiences, I came home to find out that there was an extra $40 charged to my credit card with no explanation. tried to call the hotel for an explanation and was transferred to 3 different departments before getting sent to accounting where no one answered and had to leave a message. I still haven't got a return phone call. Avoid this hotel and stay somewhere else!!

La Quinta is Better than this place
By Suzie or Janet, 1/15/10
The staff was very nice however the beds were like a ROCK -- 1st night I didn't sleep at all the 2nd night I slept only because I was exhausted and the 3rd night I had a little help from alchol. There were no hair dryers in the rooms the iron board had no padding so I had the imprint of the board on my blouse that I ironed. The tv would turn on from the remote but had no picture, so if I got up and turned it off and the on at the set I got a picture. They say they have remodeled not sure where the $$$ was spent the bedspreads and curtains look nice but the things that really count they missed the boat.

I won't be coming back.
By Bobby7, 4/5/08
The hotel is a bit pricey for an average hotel. I had 2 main problems there: charged for overnight parking and plumbing problems. I was charged almost fifty dollars for a stay of three days to park overnight. When I checked in, I was given a tag to park. When I left, my bill had almost $50 fee of overnight parking. I was told that the parking garage is privately owned. They didn’t mention that when I got my tag. At the convention there, guests were complaining of plumbing problems which I myself had too. The room itself was small and the bathroom had no ventilator. The restaurant was good. I had the buffet twice. I do recommend it. The food was the only good thing there.

Overall Experience was GREAT
By Dr Ripoff, 1/19/08
The staff are professional and went out of there way to make my stay comfortable. The lobby was clean as was everything within eye view until entering my room. For such a beautiful hotel, take more pride in the rooms. The carpet was stain in the room foyer. The one of two toilet paper rolls is coming out of the wall. Little things that can be fixed within an hour. Take pride in your hotel; it is a nice place.

AWESOME
By pam green, 9/4/07
We were staying here for our first out of town soccer tournament. All of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable for our kids. The food was great and was always ready. Bill had a smile on his face and greeted us every time we saw him. The staff always told our girls good luck and asked them how they did when we got back. Rooms were great, some noise from the band on Saturday night that was playing across the street. Would stay there again in a heart beat. Thanks for making our first trip a great one. Sting Royal 97

need some higher management to stay in hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/4/07
hotel was going though renovation and some things couldnt be helped like pool being closed (although we were never informed about this during any phase of the check in process). Help in bar and lounge dining area were very good although severly understaffed making the wait rediculous. (seemed to be a management cutback situation) We have stayed at many starwood hotels and usually our experience has been extremely positive. This was not, and we ended up checking out a day earlier and moving to a different hotel.Found the breakfast buffet to be terrible. Dirty plates and lousy food although we just went once (for obvious reasons).

Probably will not rush to stay here again.
By Betsy, 4/24/07
The room was really average, however the bed was comfortable. Also the bathroom looked really cheap, not like a four star hotel room. This hotel really needs a do over bad!! sort of depressing since it was not that nice.

Just Average
By Carolyn L, 7/18/05
Noise is a problem - on the pool side there is a band shell facing the hotel - moved to the other side only to have road noise!! Thank goodness for ear plugs. Also lots of noise in the halls on the weekends - slamming doors and yelling. Food was average, service was average - the one bright spot were the people in the gift shop. And they charged me for the Internet Connection - something I hadn't encountered at other Marriotts. Threw in Long Distance - but who needs that with a cell phone?

Good place
By LT, 5/4/05
The concierge was great! My husband and I are vegan, and he was able to recommend some great vegetarian restaurants in the area. The Starbucks in the giftshop even had soymilk for coffee.
