Upon arrival to the Best Western City View, we were greeted in a somewhat friendly manner and were given a room with two beds. The room was decent and clean. The next morning, as we were quietly eating our breakfast, we were interrupeted by the desk clerk instructing us that we had to move to another room. The reason being, they say, is that a single bed was reserved originally. We were originally on the ground floor near the front desk, and we were moved to the top floor in a much, much smaller room. On top of that, it was not cleaned and prepped from the night before. When we called the front desk about it, the clerk rudely replied with "Well I told you it wasn't made yet". We put our belongings in the room and then tried to rush to the subway, because at this point with the move, the hotel made us late for the show we were going to see at Radio City Music Hall.
We patiently waited for the shuttle. It pulled up with people inside and they did not get out. Three round trips we waited, and it was always full. We decided to walk and got directions. The directions were wrong and we got delayed again.
Upon our return to the hotel via subway, we called the hotel to arrange for the hotel shuttle to pick us up. The front desk said the shuttle van would be there in five minutes. The shuttle van showed up 15 minutes later. It was a Ford Windstar that had seen better days. As I got in the front seat of the van, the seatbelt wouldn't click into place, the windshield was cracked more than once, the check engine and electrical system lights were on, and the registration sticker on the windshield was expired. The van driver drove like a lunatic as well, to place the icing on the death ride van cake. We left the following morning and we will not be returning again after this experience. Poor customer service all around.
