overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/06
The place was not was I was expecting. Our room which was paid for in advance was way overpriced, save this place for a last minute deal. The whole time I was there, I could hear the front desk people offering a rate of much less than what we were paying. Ouch! Our room was on the front side of the building, forget any sleep until the last person in the town had gone to bed.The staff was very nice, but the place has problems. Don't pay high dollar for this place!! The resturant was very good in the evening, the breakfast was not so great.

A Bad Comedy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/06
The Mansion House facilities are nice, so are the rooms. BUT...our shower ran ice cold water. The staff told us that no one could work the tub faucets. They suggested we move to another room (a much less appealing one). It did get fixed later that day. I paid for goods in the spa with my credit card. As we paid our bill at check out, it also appeared on our bill. The woman at the desk could not even fix the mistake, I had to handle it a week later. THEN, they fixed a sticker onto our car saying we were not permitted to park in their lot...even though we had a Mansion House Guest sticker prominently displayed in the front window. (Of course, this was after they gave us the sticker the first day and told us to park on the street. They meant to say, "While you unload." Luckily, they did tell my husband 2 days later that he was meant to park in a not-so-obvious lot.) Don't walk, RUN away from the Mansion House!

Oh Please!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/06
The proximity to the roadside horns, traffic, trucks down shifting, lack of shops and perplexingly empty store fronts in the hotel is disturbing for a 4 night relaxing getaway. Breakfast was mediocre, coffee was good, but that is because I got us coffee from a coffee shop down the street. Across from the firehouse this hotels location is to noisy. I loved the pool, hated the clorine smell. Loved the health club but disliked the staff. It seemed like a bother when you asked them something. rooms were clean and nice. elevator didn't work on Sunday morning check out.

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall
By NGMV, 12/9/05
This was our third visit to the Vineyard and our second time staying at Mansion House. We spent five days there this summer with the whole family. The staff was very helpful and gave great suggestions for beaches, child-friendly activities and the many must-see beautiful places on the Island. We enjoyed Mansion House so much that my husband and I decided to take a mini-vacation weekend to Martha's Vineyard at the beginning of December. Mansion House was the perfect getaway. Even in "winter-mode" the Island is beautiful, Zephrus at Mansion House was open for a great dinner, and the front desk set up a number of treatments for us both at the spa! I'm already looking foward to my next Vineyard vacation.

Honeymooners haven - 2nd time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/11/05
Y'all, I have to say this is probably one of the best places I've stayed in my life. The hotel staff is always courteous and helpful, and super friendly. Every night is like a honeymoon suite, whether you're in one of the lower-priced rooms or in the upper-end rooms. And the Vineyard? If you haven't been, go. I recommend the winter time when it's quieter, fewer people. It's a treat.
