GuestHouse Inn Savannah, Savannah

We had a great experience at the Guesthouse Inn on Abercorn. First, the King size bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. This isn't a fancy place, but I didn't expect it to be for $49.00 a night. The hotel is a 5-6 minute drive from the historic district and we had free parking, free breakfast and a clean room. We have stayed on the river front, and while watching a ship come in was interesting, we didn't spend much time in our room. I decided to spend the money on fun stuff rather than a place to sleep. I am super glad we did. Rooms downtown started at over 3 times the price. There was not a huge variety at breakfast, cereal, toast, bagels, juice doughnuts, oatmeal, pastries and coffee...but it was good and saved us at least 12-15 dollars a day. We had a great time in Savannah and I will definitely stay at the Guesthouse Inn next time we go to Savannah.

the 1st room we had i found a dead cockroach in the tub, the safety bar was missing from the door .they did move us to another room the phone didn't work (they did fix it), bathroom fan was broken ,water pressure was really low very little water came out of the bathroom sink, and the final thing i found dead roach in that room too.the place needs major cleaning of the rooms and hallways the stairs had stains that looked like they were there for years.

I have been staying at this hotel for the last eight years, this year was the worst stay ever, there were huge roaches in rooms and the pool was closed for four out of the seven days we stayed. I only get one vacation a year and my kids were excited about the pool...and we only got to use it one day. Everything was NASTY. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The toliets back up and the management Spencer will not send anyone to fix.

there was a cockroach on the wall. the carpet smell and bad. the balcony was bad too. the chair was dirty. the sink had hair in it. i wouldn't stay here again.

This place is nasty and customer service is the worst. It looks nice from outside and entrance is not bad but this place is a mess and is under new management which has not helped matters. I agree this place has gone from bad to worst... I have stayed before but will not return again...... I would never dream this place would be so nasty until you unlock the door to a room that is filthy. The doors had fruit punch splashed on them the telephone had grease and dirt on it, the toilet had old poo or vomit on it. Left early. Very unsavory characters lodge at this dump. It is not safe for a traveling family!!!!! Suggest the LaQuinta Inn if you are on a budget also there is Marriot lodging on Abercorn s well as Hilton.

I've been staying at the Clubhouse Inn & Suites since 2004. The hotel has spiraled into a vat of nastiness, both rooms and personal. It's been under renovation for over 3 three years and now is in the hands of new owners. They placed a hold on my AMEX for the room, but I left early due to roaches being in my room. Further, when I arrived the room was not ready and the desk clerks treated me as though I was imposing on them. However, the holds remained on my card for two and half weeks. No one returned my calls with regards to the issues. Do not stay at this hotel. It's not worth the discount. The halls smell, the rooms had hair on the vanity. The carpets are flithy. The pool area is overrun with lizards too. Again, not worth it.

We were tired after traveling from Michigan and abit "anxious" about what kind of hotel/room we'd walk into only to find that everything was SIMPLY GREAT! Our room was clean...the pool was so refreshing after a day shopping in historic Savannah...and the breakfast buffet was much more than we thought it would be. We found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. We thought the hotel alone made the trip down to Savannah well worth it!! Keep up the great work and send some sunshine and warm temperatures up here in West Michigan!!!!

We stayed for three nights and slept well, had the wonderful breakfast (although the eggs were a little too runny). The waffles were good though and the sausage, potatoes and bacon were excellent. We got to the historic district in about 10 - 15 minutes. The drinks at 5:00 were nice after being out all day.

The breakfast was great and the service was good. We were there at a bad time-turned the water off from 8;30 pm til 4;00 am!We did get a discount after speaking with the manager. Will have to make improvements for us to go back. The queen beds were very uncomtable and small for queens.

My friends and I stayed at this Hotel. The only good thing was the complimentary drinks. They were the best all over Savannah. We got to the hotel on Friday at around 6pm. Checking in was ok, but we found out we were on the second floor and there is no elevator. When we asked the easiest way to our room we were told to go down the hall to the first set of stairs and it was right there. After walking all the way around - 10 minutes - we finally found our room. After that we found we were told to go the wrong way. When we got in the room it smelled like a smoke, and this was a non smoking room. It was very dirty. In the bathroom there was "crap" on the floor. We could not get them to come back and clean the room again and they were booked so no other room. We went to the store and cleaned the bathroom ourselves. We paid for more than 2 guest and could not get enough towels. We had 3 towels and 2 washclothes for 3 adults. They said they were out. Good thing we brought our own. The carpet was sticky and the air did not work well. We could not go to another hotel because we were on a tight budget and did not have extra money for a more expensive hotel. Not worth the 100/night. Next time difinetly somewhere else. Staff tried to be friendly but was limited in what they could do for there guest.
