Decent price for this area
By Kent A, 07/02/08
This motel is OK for the price and the area. As a single male in my 50's, I stayed for 8 days (in late June), and got a good rate ($40/nt-no tax-plus $1/day for frig in room.) This rate is available if you pay it all up front. Other places nearby like Red Roof and Marriott are much higher. This is not resort quality and if you want a pool and/or gym, try elsewhere. The place is right next to a big Pilot truck stop which also had "low" gas prices for CT, at this time it is $4.25/gal. The truck stop aspect does not appear to affect the stay at the motel, except for perhaps some rowdy clientele. The room and bathroom I got was pretty clean, everything worked, nothing fancy but adequate. Good cable TV, good wall unit heat and A/C, and room was good size with decent furniture, although some might think the mattress to be a bit hard. The lobby area and building exterior are sort of run down but adequate, coffee only in the morning, with laundry, soda and ice machine available. Adequate car parking. The Pilot has food available next door (store merchandise plus Wendy's), there is a Dunkin Donuts across the street and a Cracker Barrel about 5 min walk. Also right next to Exit 40 on I-95. This is a decent pick for the area, depending on your preferences. I would stay again under similar circumstances.
