Dont waste your time or money on this hotel.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/09
The rooms are less then average. Walls are thin (noisy) They charge for everything even a phone call from the room (to find out the pool hours) $1.00. Parking is 20.00. Room service food was horrible. Ordered Chicken Quesadillas appetizers for 12.00. I got two small corn tortilla shells so dry I couldnt eat them. Was charged a $4.00 delivery charge and a 22 percent tip. Totaling 20 bucks! Highway robbery. I was afraid to touch anything for fear I'd be charged extra!...Went to a much cheaper hotel the next night and had better experience including a complimentary breakfast. I do not recommend this hotel and will not return.

Best Hotel Ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/09
A wonderful place to stay. Quiet rooms, extremely clean, and the most comfortable beds ever. Tons of restaurants in walking distance and the best Sunday breakfast ever.

Terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/08
Overpriced. Rooms are below average. Small, only moderately clean. Walls are THIN. You can hear everything going on around and above you. Very, very loud. Don't expect to sleep. First hotel I've stayed at in 15 years that doesn't have a free workout room. Not even a single treadmill. You have to pay to use the sports club (would have cost more for 3 days than I pay for my gym for a month). Avoid this place like the plague.

Dont Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/08
My family stayed here because it is fairly close to the beach and the zoo, which we were out here to see. I am normally a fan of Hyatt's properties but am extremely disappointed with this property. No matter how low I set the air the room is too hot to use blankets, we keep hearing a loud bang outside our room every 30-45 min, the beds they claim to "have deluxe bedding," a duvet cover and stuff---- nope, we got 2 flat sheets with a down comforter in between and for our fitted sheet, we also got another flat sheet which they just tucked in. The beds are very firm--- way too firm for me.. Anyway, my point is that I should be in bed sleeping right now but instead I am writing this review..... You decide.

Honeymoon nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/07
My wife and I chose to stay at the Hyatt for our honeymoon. I ordered the romance package which put the room at roughly $400 a night. From the moment we stepped in we were treated as second class guests even though according to the package we were suppose to receive VIP service. I ordered flowers through the e-coinsures and they were suppose to be in the room when we arrived, which they were not. I ended up getting roses even though I ordered gerber daisies. The best part was that they did not write anything on the card. I had nice message that was a surprise for my wife and they forgot to put the card with the flowers. I call down to the front desk and am on hold for 10 minutes and when I finally get to talk to someone they tell me they will have to talk to a manager. 40 minutes later a manager calls back and says that they will provide an extravagant gift for their blunder. They sent up a fruit plate, which consisted of a green banana, apple and orange. I could have walked to the closest store and spent $2 for this so called extravagant gift. After dinner and a night cap my wife and I go back to the room. We call room service to see if we can get a bottle of wine. They say no and my wife calls back to try and see why they can't give us a bottle of wine. When she calls the man on the other end refers to her as a drunk and tells her to raid the mini-bar. My wife is insulted I'm angry so I go downstairs to talk to the manager and he tells me that I am just a customer that can't be made happy and there is nothing he can do. So at 1am my wife and I pack our bags and leave the hotel on our Honeymoon! Absolutely, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The incompetence of the manager and staff was unbelievable. For $400 a night and a honeymoon one would think they could treat us slightly better. My suggestion go to the Marriot, Hilton, or the Super 8 because you will get better service.

A wonderful and quiet place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/07
The staff were very nice and courteous. They were very helpful in helping with activities around the area. The hotel was very clean and worth the stay. I've gone twice already and will go again.

good location
By travel qa, 02/23/07
The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.

YUCK!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/07
Noisy, a million kids running around the large lobby out of control, not enough seating in the lobby if you even cared to sit, a Starbucks coffee stand in the lobby with almost no service to speak of, rooms not as clean or well-maintained as they should be. (Hairdryer in bathroom was not affixed to wall- had broken off and stayed that way the entire time I was there). Long drive to LaJolla Village where all restaurants and shops are. Front desk completely indifferent. there are a lot of places to stay in LaJolla - find someplace else

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/06
my family and i stayed for two nights. the price? well, it was outrageous. the service? very snubby to me and seemed like they didn't want to be there. the view? nice i'd have to admit. but it dosen't cover up the other flaws this place has. sorry.

I wont stay anywhere else!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/06
This beautiful hotel overlooked the city & the ocean in the same breathtaking mement. The pool was full for "Beautiful" people, and it was close to everything you want to see in San Diego. You have to go, and remeber to make out right on the window ledge of the high-rise...what an extra rush!
