Will not return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/11
We stayed here for three nights and on all three mornings we had cold showers. The first morning was very cold water due to a maintenance failure per the front desk - OK, these things do happen. However, the next two mornings when we got up at 8:30am, the hot water had run out, leaving very cool water. The heater they put in could obviously not keep up with demand. That is not excusable. Only weak apologies from the front desk each time I called. At checkout, they offered $15 discount on the $175 daily rate and after push-back another $50 was taken off the total bill. The manager stayed behind the scenes and did not show face, leaving the clerk to deal with it - not impressive. I value a hot shower in the morning as half the value of staying in a hotel - obviously they did not. As others have said, it is "funky" decor and very noisy. Will definitely not be returning there!

Doubt We Will Ever Stay Again...
By Hilton, 7/7/08
The idea of the hotel is cute. I like the SF movie themed rooms. We made the reservation through a travel website because we stayed overnight at the last minute. I normally stay at larger hotels in SF but decided to give this one a shot. I used to live in SF so I was a little worried that it was right next to the Tenderloin District, but it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, the sheets felt like sleeping on 400 grit sandpaper, the beds shook everytime we moved. The M-80, cherry-bomb type sound going off at 12:30am about scared the crap out of us. It was disappointing we were not able to open a window to let the breeze through because it was so loud outside. What's worse? They have NO air conditioner or any type of fan to circulate the air through the room. I was so hot and I could barely breathe in that room. The free continental breakfast was ok but get down there early, if not you get stuck with dirty nasty tables, no clean silverware and picked over food.

hotel bijou-san fran gem
By stephen, 9/29/06
great little friendly hotel, vey helpfull staff, very clean rooms, the front of hotle is a little noisy but we still slept ok, great themed movie rooms all have a title , like the dirty harry room, interview with a vampire etc, all films are fron san fran area, there is a free movie theatre veiwing every night 2 films 7 and 9.30 ish. breakfast is included as many muffins and bagels , coffee and tea you can drink and eat. area is not the best but best tip is to leave hotel from main entrance and turn left, right takes you into a seedy part of town, but that said we diddnt feel threatend at any time with the area that the htel was placed in. Theis is a real pleasure of a hotel and a bargain at the rates we got, in the centre of all you want in san fran highly recomended.

Cute Movie Themed Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/14/06
The nightly movies were very nice after a long day touring the city. It came with popcorn, coffee & Tea. The staff was extremely helpful in planning trips, printing boarding passes, popping corn for the movies, or making you comfortable in any way possible. The price is right if you are on a budget. The room is a decent size, however there is not a huge selection of TV channels offered. The continental breakfast consists of muffins, bagels, coffee, milk and water. The hotel is located about a block and a half from the BART station - it costs $5.15 to get to the San Francisco airport one way. Or they offer a shuttle that costs $13.00. The Financial and Theater districts are nearby and there is plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. One is a new amazing Indian restaurant kiddy corner from the hotel. The only complaint we have is that there are an awful lot of homeless people that are in the surrounding area. Don't forget that you are in a city and there is a lot of noise around, so they provided earplugs - we did not use them. You can ask for a room that does not face the street but it was nice to open the window and hear the sounds of the city. The price was right for us but we would not stay again because of the bums.

Great time, clean, well kept, would use this hotel again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/06
Valet parking was more expensive then advertised when we booked the reservation but understand why one would need it because of the downtown area where it is located Continental breakfast lacked more choices to drink(juice cost$) Overall nice decor, sixth floor was very quiet, exceptionally clean entrance, hallways and rooms.

Very cute, would do it again
By CarrieP, 11/14/05
We recently traveled to San Francisco for our 10th wedding anniversary and stayed here for 5 nights. We weren't looking for much in the way of amenities and this did fit the bill. There are no fridges or coffee makers but located right around the corner from was little coffee shop or a 7-11, not to mention coffee available in the petite theater off the lobby too. They offered breakfast in the morning of bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, milk and juice was available for purchase in a machine. Good in a pinch or enough to jump start your day. The staff was wonderful!!! They couldn’t have been more helpful, courteous or fun. They even got us a little gift of chocolate, mug and key chain for our anniversary. Believe it or not that really made our trip, such a little thing but a big impression! Only one complaint. We suffered from jet lag and spent more time in our room at night then we would have liked and the choice of TV channels was dismal. We liked to say there were 5 news channels, the Weather Channel (which never showed San Francisco) and the “Friends” network (TBS). Other weird thing, and this seems to be a San Francisco thing, no screens on the windows to the rooms. Seems they don’t have bugs there. We would stay again. It was located near the main lines of travel, clean, well cared for and the staff was great.

Awesome staff
By Maria, 5/25/05
I had to attend a web conference in San Francisco and found this hotel right next to where the conference was. The staff was amazing. Very, very helpful and gave you maps to anything you needed. The rooms were small but very clean. They served breakfast every morning. I would book again at this hotel if I was going to be in that area in the future.

Nice neat place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/7/05
I stayed here several years ago; I was pleasantly surprised that it was clean, moderately priced, comfortable, quiet, located close to Union Square and had great security. I enjoyed my 2 day stay.
