Poor management...
By Jay W, 3/18/12
There was a power outage after we checked in and paid. We were forced to stay at another hotel. I know it was not the Hassayampa's fault that the weather caused an outage. My complaint was how they handled it. We did not ask for a refund, but that we could come back and stay another time in the future. We were told they would not compensate us in anyway. So, too bad for them that we will not ever stay there again and will also make sure that anyone else we know will not either.

Don't waste your money !
By p, 11/10/09
We received a gift certificate for this hotel, the bathroom needed a good scrubbing, the mattress and pillows were terrible in need of replacements. We have been to Hassayampa before and have always enjoyed this was very disappointing. When I called management they were very abrupt and need to learn the meaning of customer service !

Do not have a wedding reception here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/09
For months planed a wedding reception with food, Day of reception, chef decided to change what we ordered because he said it would not work. If you want to use a place in Prescott use the Hassayampa Country Club. No matter how much planning they do what they want and do not communicate with you.

By keith, 5/17/09
Noise, Climbing stairs lack of elevator, My laptop screen was 4 inches bigger than the TV. Could fit half a cheeck on the toilet thats how close to the wall it was! Shower never stayed warm it would go from perfect to scalding. Never ever even if it was free I would rather sleep in my car.

Not staying there ever again
By renee, 2/11/08
Service: When I was checking out, the lady at the front desk asked if I was joining them for breakfast. I said it was not provided with the room, and she reads the price of the room that I had paid and laughed saying she sees why. Other less expensive hotels, offer the same ammenties that they do to non-business guests. It also took a while to be checked in and checked out when the only staff person was sitting behind their desk visibly out in the open. Location: If you like being smack in the middle of a city with cities noises creaping into the room, this place is for you. Cleanliness: I did not feel the room was thoroughly clean. There was dust noticably on most places. The desk was wobbly. There was no bathtub. Underneath the bed was just plain nasty. The carpetting looked old and dirty. In stand-up shower, the tiles did not look the cleanest. Value: I could have stayed at the Prescott Resort with other people in my party for the same business price and would have received large comfortable rooms, a bathtub, flat screen tvs, balconies, complementary breakfasts...etc. So I do not think the Hassayampa Inn is a value at all.

I don't see why anyone would stay here over other newer places
By Ki, 2/8/08
I am staying here for a conference. It is already paid for so I can't leave or I would! I should have made reservations elsewhere. What annoys me the most, is there is no bathtub in the room! There is a stand-up shower in a tiny little closet bathroom! I wish they warned me before I payed for the room that I would not be in a room with a bathtub. I guess its like camping. The room is also very tiny. I guess its old --I guess that justifies it being tiny. There is barely enough desk space for my laptop with the provided phone/alarm/lamp/cards on it. I don't have enough room to unpack my clothes that I will be wearing tomorrow.. I certainly don't want to lay everything out on the floor. Cleanliness: Well, as soon as I walk in the door, I noticed two big smudged-in stains on the bed spread. I dropped something under the bed, I went to pick it up and it comes back all dusty. There is also a laundry bag on the floor in the closet that looks like it was just tossed there and smells very used. Other than that, it seems okay. However, there are a couple of gnats flying around my laptop screen at the moment.. I'm not sure where they came from. The location: Right in the middle of town, I suppose if you being in the middle of town its nice. The front entrance does look elegant walking in. Service: I didn't answer because I avoided the bellhop person on the elevator so I wouldnt have to pay even more for this place. The lady at the front desk seemed nice when I was checking in. Value: No free breakfast with my room. Not even a donut and coffee. No fridge or microwave. No coffee maker in the room. There is a small old-style tv. There is free wireless internet access, which I am quite happy with. Anyway, if I had it over, I would have stayed at a newer place like the Comfort Inn. Newer places you get.. large rooms, free breakfast, usually fridge/microwave/coffee-maker, free breakfasts, a bathtub, and furniture that isnt old that feel like they are about to break for the same price or cheaper! Sure, I guess it is fun visiting historic sites, but staying in one without a bathtub isn't fun!

Disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/08
The breakfast was great in the Peacock Room. Service in the restaurant was excellent and the bellhop at the hotel was helpful and pleasant. The location of the Hassayampa is excellent --- close enough to Whiskey Row but not too close. We took advantage of the weekday special room rate , too. We were disappointed, however, that the room was so plain and dull. It was small and with high ceiling but no wall decorations of any kind. We felt cramped into what my wife described as " a bunker". The hotel lobby is beautiful and elegant and tricked us into thinking that the rooms also would be beautiful. Ours wasn't. The bed was o.k. but the wimpy little pillows were almost useless. The bathroom was tiny. Sit on the toilet and your knees are against the wall. We were disappointed with the room. We will eat at the restaurant again but we won't stay at the hotel again.

Looking forward to another opportunity.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/20/07
I spent my anniversary here. The service was excellent. The rooms were modest, but duable. I wanted to try something different, so I chose a local historic hotel. Prices this time of year in Phoenix for any hotel is outrageous, so I took a chance and found a great deal just an hour and a half away. What lured me to this location is the famed "Whiskey Row". However, once I arrived I never left the hotel. We spent time on the patio and enjoyed the calmness of this awsome small town. We had a bottle of wine delivered to our room, followed by an elegant dinner in the famous Peacock Dining Room. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed both our meals in the Peacock Dining Room (breakfast and dinner). The service was flawless all around. I'm looking forward to my next visit even if it's just for lunch.

Overpriced & Small
By sherrie, 1/17/07
the hotel was really relaxing and loved the Great Room/Lobby. Bathrooms were tiny, my elder mom tripped over the toilet. Rooms were dusty, found a cigarette butt in the window seal and the maid didn't replensh toilet paper or tissues. Elevator was original and certainly facinating, however, MUST be operated by staff, therefore, older people or handicapped will be greatly inconvienced. Again, loved the atmosphere and I probably wouldnt' be sooooo critical if it wern't so pricey. At $150 a night I expect, at least, cleanliness and certainly more room in the bathroom. I would recommend maybe, for the History buff.
