Clueless New Year ~ and ~ Pay extra for parking!
By Heartland, 01/04/09
The New Years Eve party was terrible. The band and the two stand up comedians were terrific, the food was pretty good (food has never been that good at any of these events and you hardly expect it to be). Though in spite of the excellent entertainment, whoever planned the event was a complete idiot. There were no party hats, no New Years Eve noise poppers, no confetti, no balloons, no New Years Eve banners and the worst was the timing for the countdown, the lighting and the late start for the dancing. Imagine 500 people still sitting in there chairs and counting down just anxious for the whole damn thing to be over; instead of “Old Anxine” their singing "Thank God its Over". It was quite literally that bad. Oh, you can say that life is what you make it and we did make the best of it and proceeded out to dance… to the just opened dance floor… fifteen minutes after midnight. And not to forget… the entire time the lights were up so bright you could effortlessly read a book. Even the waiters and the bartender were apologetic… after all, ninety percent of the people in the place were commenting on how ridiculously STUPID it was to co-ordinate things so POORLY. It was like attending a fully lit conference with a band and stand up comedians… to bad… considering the caliber of entertainment. Hat’s off to the band… and comedians! As far as the hotel, be prepared to pay $10 per night extra for parking. They began this practice back in February 2008. All I can say about that is… WTH! The front desk compared it to paying for parking in areas like downtown San Francisco… WTH! I can understand parking considerations in any downtown district but San Ramon is hardly a comparison. I did ask for the parking to be validated considering that our stay was for three nights… sorry… “No can do”… hotel policy. I politely stayed on that evening and cancelled my stay the following morning… We gladly went home early; though I did notice that they removed the parking charges from the final bill. I would like to commend the staff for being courteous and professional the entire time. I actually felt sorry for them for having to tolerate such inept management. P.S. … this is the only negative review I have ever written… and I do like Marriott hotels… they're always nice...

Watch Out!
By beasley, 08/28/07
We booked a room to meet my brother and daughter who flew into SF from the East coast. We planned to stay in a "nicer" hotel to be able to enjoy mingling with family. We have 2 young children 5 and 3. We booked 2 queen beds. The pictures on the web site were beautiful. When we arrived after a 5 hour drive we were informed that all they had available was a room with one King and we were give a single roll away for the boys. The room was set up as a business room so NO space to put away clothing. One drawer. We lives out of suitcases. We were placed in from of a staircase which the employees use to smoke which permeated the whole of our room and hallway. Some good though. The buffet and staff in the resturant was wonderful. The grounds were beautiful. Tip: Make sure that no tournaments or other large booking are occuring. A soccer tournament was occuring when we were there.

not recommended for children

THe location and price for this hotel was good but the service stunk. I reserved my room there a few days in advance and requested a crib for my 7 month old boy. When we got there, they reassured us that the crib was on it way up. 2 hours and 3 phone calls later, there was still no crib. We went to dinner and on the way out we asked that it was to be placed in our room before our return. Well, we ended up with NO CRIB and 2 fridges. I spoke with the frony desk numerous times and still nothing was done. The rest of the week, my husband and I slept like crap. Not to mention, we are Rewards Members, so it sucks that they didn't even comp us a night or give us extra points towards our card.

Perfect!
By Cute Girl's #1 Fan, 08/26/05
I chose this Hotel originally for out-of-town guests attending my wedding. I knew my husband and I were going to stay there on our wedding night. However, when we went to check the hotel out before booking rooms, we loved it so much, we ended up staying there 2 extra nights, as well as much of our family. The staff was very friendly. Great food! The rooms were comfy...I love the down comforters! And it's in a great location!
