Aquamarina Beach Hotel - All inclusive Optional, Zona Hotelera

i didnt like it because it was ugly and i paid 4 nothing

This pace was dirty and the Worst Vacation we have ever had. I wouldn't send my dog there. I can't beleive that a travel agency would send people to a place like this. We were so unhappy and tried to get back home the next day but wanted a $1000.00 per person and we couldn't afford it,so we were stuck.. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay there.. Real bad headache.

this was our 2nd trip to mexico and boy were we dissappointed with cancun, a party of 4 of went as it was my brother in laws 65 birthday, wot a way to celebrate, the rooms were a decent size but the cleanliness was not that good, could of done better myself.the food, well wot can i say, as you walked into the restaurant the first thing that greets you is a microwave, well you most definately needed that the food was always cold and most days was unedible wether heated up or not, we ended up going out of the hotel to find a decent place to eat, as we had gone all inclusive i found this most unacceptable. the pool was so cold you turned blue at the thought of even going in it. very difficult to get a drink in the evening as the bar and surrounding area is so small, there are around 400 rooms in this hotel and they have a seating area that will take around 30 people max, this area is also open all round and as its quite windy in the evenings it felt very chilly. now as for entertainment either during the day or in the evening, never could find any, not to sure if it even existed, luckily we took playing cards and a couple of other games wth us, so we were not so badly off as some other holiday makers, overall i would not recommend this as a holiday for anyone with kids, not so great if you are alone either, first and last trip to cancun. any travel agent with an ounce of common sense should remove this hotel from there brochures.

We made a reservation 8 months in advance. We were supposed to stay with our family who was traveling with us. When we got there they didnt have our reservation. They had "overbooked", even though they knew that they wouldnt have our room for us before we even got there.(as confirmed by the time share people who told my sister oh, I hope your not related to the other family, we wont have a room for them. they decided that yesterday) We ended up at an all adult hotel where the nudity was encouraged, and while that may sound like a good thing to most, it was awful to us, since we were celebrating our annyversary. We got a room with a broken AC while Our travel companions got a junior suite. and when we finally did get to go back to our original hotel, we got stuck with a little room. Aside from that, the sand at the beach was awful, and the sand in the water was more mud than sand. The food sucked too. They had the same food day after day. All they did was change the name for it, one day is potatos, the next its french potatos, and the next italian potatos. What a rip of! The swimming pool is all one depth 31/2 feet. And the elevator kept breaking down. It isn't in a convenient place if you like to spend your day's in the heart of cancun. You always have to travel to get to the good area. I sugest staying by the caribean side of Cancun. Travelocity also screwed us over. We made the reservation with them, and all we got from them was a $50 coupon to use at a later date on a two night stay!

First, this is a two star hotel plain and simple. My wife and I usually stay at JW's or Ritz Carlton's. But this was a free trip, so what the heck. This is an old hotel, on the beach (small). The staff is very friendly and efficient. The drinks are very well prepared. But this is an old hotel away from the center of the Hotel Strip (about $10 taxi to get anywhere). Lots of folks from "over the pond" so to speak. Heavy smokers. The balcony had two plastic chairs, but no table. The bed sheets didn't fit. The room was for sleeping only, not relaxing and having a nightcap.

The worst time ever! Cancun was great, Coco Bongo was smashing, but the hotel was distasteful. We made our reservation 8 months in advance and when we got there they didnt have out room, we got robbed right in the lobby, got a room with a broken AC, elevator broke several times, food was bad and repetetive, staff hounds you all day long, THE SAND ON THEIR BEACH WAS MUD..... I wont rant on and on about it, but beacause of that hotel our otherwise perfect trip was ruined. If I could rate a zero I would! AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!!

It is a nice hotel. Worker were very nice, they showed us to the best clubs in Cancun, the rooms were always clean the service was OK. I would go back.

I have been going to Cancun for the last 15 years! I have stayed at this hotel my last 6 times. The value is great. The food isn't the best, but then again I don't eat out at FANCY restaurants at home either!!!! The pool side food is the best. Pool entertainment staff is wonderful! The pool bartenders are wonderful!!!! Will be going again and will definitely stay here!!!!

After planning to go to Tampa, we found that all of our passports had expired and we could not go to the USA. Instead we went to Cancun and the Yucatan. Aquamarina Beach appears to have been made near the beginning of Cancun's boom, and it shows. The building, compared to the new beautiful Cancun hotels is an eyesore. If you're thinking the hotel would be good because of the "beach..." you would be wrong. there's a bing wharf in the way, and there's seaweed all through the water. Luckily, all beaches in Cancun are public, and if you're willing to walk down the beach, you'll find a nice portion. The room is okay. Nothing fancy, but certainly not a pigsty. Don't eat at the hotel restaurants unless you're desperate. The downtown is full of good food. Roberto wasted a lot of our time in Cancun. He works at the hotel, and he wants to sell you a bunch of timeshares. Don't give in. Avoid Roberto at all costs! Here's why you should go to Aquamarina Beach. There's a cheap ferry to Isla Mujeres down the street. Isla is not as developed for tourists, but that adds a lot to it's charm. If you're stuck at Aquamarina for a week, spend a night on Isla instead.

Great service, nice clean hotel. Checkin and checkout was a little painful and slow.
