Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa - The Luxury Included Vacation, Negril

The resort doesn't look like the pictures. It's old and not as clean. The food is boring and doesn't compare to other all-inclusives I've been to. Whatever was not consumed the day before shows up with a different sauce the next day. They are constantly out of items that are printed on the menu, like scallops, prosciutto, and ham. It would be worth it if it were less than $1000 a person, but for anything over $1000 per week, you can get a better deal elsewhere.

We went to sandals to get away from the cold in ny. It was my husband and I . I think the food was good the activities were very good, resort was beautiful great beachh. The only negative i would say is the nightly entertainment can use some help. Besides that great 4 days away

My husband and I went there on our honeymoon. We had a blast in Jamaica. Not so much Sandals. We had the top of the line package. Butler service, spa days, the works. I have to say, for the amount of money we spent, the services didn't match. Our butler had about 10 other clients, so he was hardly around. When we tried to swim in the pool, our swim suits would smell horrible. This was also the season when the seaweed was bad, so we didn't do much swimming. The night life, which was something we were looking forward to after an amazing experience at a different resort in Punta Cana, was lacking. We felt the entertainment was only for the staff, not the guests. The food there was OK. "All inclusive" isn't so much true. You have to pay for the beach side beds, wine, not to mention we were expected to tip everyone. With every hotel there is good and bad; here the bad isn't bad enough to not enjoy your vacation. It is, after all, Jamaica! The staff did do their best, I just feel they are under staffed. I would recommend Jamaica in a heartbeat... just find a different resort.

So disappointing! The rooms are awful! Small - no dresser, no easy chair to sit in - the bathroom is only made for one person! If you did not have "butler service " you were treated like 2nd class citizens! One morning we had reserved lounge chairs by the pool, went to breakfast, came back & another couple was in our chairs. When questioning them they said "Oh - I thought our butler had reserved these for us." They actually had a reserved sign which had to have been put there after both my husband & I and the other couple with us put our things - which included magazines with our names on them - on the chairs. We think the "butler" just moved our things. When we went to eat at the hotel restaurants, we were always asked if we had reservations when we said no we had to wait in line while those with butler service were seated ahead of us. Upon returning by taxi from Rick's cafe one evening, we were stopped by a hotel representative who asked us where we had been & how much we had had to drink! I was furious! We have stayed in other resorts and had wonderful experiences and were hoping for the same as Sandals is known as the "top of the line." I would never recommend a Sandals to anyone!

My husband and I have been to Sandals Negril 3 times the past 5 years and we have absolutely loved it everytime! I am always astonished when I hear others complain about this resort! First of all, this is a 5 star resort by Jamaica standards, NOT United States standards. Remember people, you are in Jamaica NOT the US it is not the same! Although I think the rooms are exceptionally nice its not the same as a 5 star hotel in america. Lots of complaining about service, etc. Yes, things are slower and more laid back. You are in Jamaica, on vacation. Things are slower here. It's the way of the Jamaicans. The service is NOT to get you in, get you out like in the US. Again, you have to remember where you are and just relax. Don't be in such a hurry! We are already planning out 4th trip back here next year and can't wait! Just remember your vacation is what you make of it. Don't be so picky and remember you are in another country NOT the US, things are not the same. Enjoy!

We had a great time. However, this is not a resort for picky or demanding types. People who don't ask the right questions will find issues. Especially during the hot season. This is a small, romantic resort with small beaches and Jamaican waters. This isn't Aruba. But, it doesn't get any better than this in Jamaica. No waves, beautiful sunsets, and the swimming areas are fine. Large wedding parties, especially during the hot season here, would not be a good idea. You need a larger resort with more amenities. We thought the food was great but they have this resort set up for dinner with a sunset so they only have two restaurants with AC. The others are out next to the water and open where you can enjoy the sunset view (which is extraordinary). Our room was plain and simple (low grade) but we didn't go to stay in our room. We could have upgraded to swim-up rooms but we were fine. Our staff and service was wonderful and friendly. From my suit clean and press to her hair, makeup, and nails (which she loved). We had a low-key, romantic, stress free wedding which was made special by the staff, coordinators, photographers, and very nice pastor. Through the week we stayed entertained on and off the resort easily. If you want elaborate and extravagant this resort is not for you. Its a very simple resort for couples. Negril has plenty to do for a reasonable price if you wish to leave the resort as well. Just use your head. If you are looking at resort weddings, find a place that fits your needs and take time to research what they have to offer as far as rooms, food, and entertainment. Take everyone into consideration. Also, what is the weather usually like during the time of year you are going? We were there during the New Year festivities so the weather was in the low to mid 80s. No shirt, no shoes, no problem the entire time. If you have 30 people in your wedding party and you want to come here during the hot season all dressed up in suits expecting a five star experience then you are going to have problems. Not us, we got what we paid for and we had a blast. Just the two of us.

I recently (Feb 5-12) traveled with my family to Negril, Jamaica to participate in my brother’s wedding on the beach and enjoy some vacation time in Jamaica. I was traveling with my fiancé, my sister and my parents. As I was the best man in the wedding, my father was a groomsman and my sister was a bridesmaid, we all decided to stay at the location of the wedding (Sandals Negril). In addition, to ensure we could all spend time together as a family we all wanted to be at the same resort thus we all booked our travel to Sandals Negril more than six months in advance of the trip. Further, we all received confirmation of our reservations at Sandals Negril and paid in full at the appropriate time. Upon our arrival at the Sandals hub in the Jamaica airport we were notified that two of the three rooms within our party were overbooked and moved away from the rest of the family and away from the resort where the wedding was being held. As you could image this came to us as a huge shock and developed into a major frustration and inconvenience as we were all part of the wedding party. After spending three plus hours of dealing with Donald Smith and Gary Stewart in the Jamaica airport (both of which represent the worst examples of customer service I have ever seen), the only thing that was clear was that mine and my sister’s Sandals reservations were not going to be upheld. In order to make the wedding rehearsal in time we all loaded up and headed for Sandals Negril. Upon our arrival we were met by Nichelle Oxford who tried to be as understanding as possible(much better customer service). However, even she could not change the circumstances that our reservations were not going to be upheld. After the rehearsal and dinner, me, my fiancé and my sister all went over to check into the other resort. During our check in we noted this was not an 18 and up couples resort and upon getting to our rooms we found that both rooms did not have the water turned on. We could not flush the toilet, wash our hands or take a shower until the next morning. The next day (also the day of the wedding) we had to make several trips between the resorts to make previously arranged appointments and prepare for the wedding, yet another inconvenience. In addition, after all the wedding day events and the end of the evening we could not walk back to our rooms and turn in for the night. Instead we had to wait for transportation to take us back to the other resort. This process of going back and forth between resorts continued for the next two days. Finally on the fourth night of our 7 night stay in Jamaica we were moved back to Sandals Negril, where our reservations that were booked over six months ago were made. In addition, to help smooth the process we were allowed a mini bar in the room (which was of no use to us), 24 hour room service (which we used maybe 2 times) and a $150 resort credit (which might have made up the difference in price from Sandals Negril to the other resort for the 3 nights we stayed). To me these are all token gestures in an effort to put out the immediate fire. However, this does not at all excuse the complete lack of confidence I have in any Sandals resort to uphold their end of the bargain to ensure my reservation remains in-tact as I made it and not as Sandals deems appropriate. Further, based on my experience of this situation I will not plan a trip using Sandals again.

My new wife and I just got married at this resort. The staff is absolutely amazing. Everyone is super nice and so helpful. We assumed everything would be nice when we got there but we were blown away by how nice it actually was. After our first day we were already discussing when we would be making a trip back. The resort was surreal and I could never have imagined having such a great time. I would recommend this resort to anyone. Words can't even begin to describe how great the resort and everyone there is.

OMG! This is absolutely the best resort I've ever stayed at. We booked with FAYETTE at TripGuy. First let me tell you about the booking process. We asked for some information b/c we originally wanted to go to Antigua. After seeing the flights we decided to go with Negri in Jamaica. I'm sooo glad we did. Fayette handled EVERYTHING including telling us about the butler services. Since it was our 10yr anniversay we thought sure why not - it's not that much more expensive. Taking Fayette's advice was what made our trip extra special!!! The butler will unpack for you, bring you drinks on the beach, set up ALL dinner reservations and any tours that you want to do - even things as simple as snorkeling. We literally didn't have to do anything but relax!!! Our butler even did an in-suite dinner with candles, champagne and pictures for our 10 year anniversary (this was free)!! They even reserved us lounge chairs on the beach with an umbrella - so we never had to find one!!! They also give you a list of activities of the day (which was great) We got the swim-up room. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! The bathroom was phenomenol! the walk in shower and HUGE tub was awesome! The bed was comfortable and I loved the pillows (I think we had almost 6 :-) We were close to everything! The room with the private plunge pool are not close to anything - so there is more walking involved. Our room and area was very private which was great and the fact that everything wasn't very far was even better. We stayed in room 6214 - that is the very end swim-up room and the most private!!! I will request that room for my next visit - we loved it!! Everyone at the resort is friendly. The food was great and very easily accessible at all times (try the ribs at the grill - FABULOUS). The beach is gorgeous! The water was great and the sand was great!!! It was soft to walk on and beautiful to look at! The entertainment (nightly) was great! The playmakers (during the day entertainment) was great and a lot of fun! My favorite thing to do at the resort was the snorkeling! DT (the captain of the boat) and Toby (the photographer and tour guide) were beyond entertaining!!! When ever we would go do an activity, we would stop by the photoshop and ask one of the photographers to join us. So we got pictures of EVERYTHING that we did!!! But the professional photographers are always around to get pictures if you please, so you can always just grab one! - we bought over $500 worth of pictures - they were all beautiful!! Other tours we took were the canopy tour (ziplinging through the jungle) and the Booze Cruise (to rick's cafe to cliff dive). The canopy tour was AWESOME!!!! the tour guides are hilarious! They make it so much fun that you don't have time to be a little scared! We can't wait to go back and do this again. The booze cruise was also our favorite!! You will love it!!! We went cliff diving which was exhilarating!!! If I could give this resort 10 stars I would!! Sandals Negril is absolutely the best place ever!!

If I were you, I would say think about going to the Dunn's River sandals then. My wife and I just got back from Sandals - Negril and I would have to say it was a waste of money. The service was horrible, although there was a few awesome staff members, the rest were horrible. The food menu's were the same almost everyday and our first room was awful. Old, smelly and loud. We got to move but had to pay an extra fee for that. That room was beautiful but very pricey. It's interesting to see some of the good reviews on here but I would say stay away. Goto Dunn's River as the staff is great, rooms are awesome and food is truly awesome. Hope that helps!
