THE SHELL GAME "BAIT & SWITCH"
By Bart W, 02/01/10
WHERE IS THE "BBB BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU" AND THE "ATTOURNEY GENERAL"???? LOOKING AT BOOKING A VACATION ONLINE, AND HERE'S WHAT THEY DO... ON THEIR SITE "FROM 65% OFF" OK, SO I CLICK IT. UP POPS A LIST OF DESTINATIONS. THE FIRST ONE IS OCHO RIOS. THE PRICE FOR OCHO RIOS STATES "FROM 150 PER PERSON" (AND IT'S IN BLACK FONT, NOT RED SALE PRICE FONT LIKE THE 65% OFF IS) OK. $150 TIMES 2 PEOPLE FOR A WEEK IS; $300 X 7= $2100 X 65% OFF = $735 FOR A WEEK FOR A COUPLE AT OCHO RIOS. DO YOU KNOW BETWEEN USING THEIR SITE, AND USING A CHAT REPRESENTATIVE, AND TALKING TO AN AGENT ON THE PHONE, ALL THE PRICES WERE OVER $5000! FALSE ADVERTISING AND DECEPTIVE PRICING TACTICS. I HOPE SOMEONE OR SOME AGENCY GOES AFTER THESE PEOPLE. LIARS AND CROOKS.

I just got back
By JuanT, 11/13/09
My new wife and I just got married at this resort. The staff is absolutely amazing. Everyone is super nice and so helpful. We assumed everything would be nice when we got there but we were blown away by how nice it actually was. After our first day we were already discussing when we would be making a trip back. The resort was surreal and I could never have imagined having such a great time. I would recommend this resort to anyone. Words can't even begin to describe how great the resort and everyone there is.

Absolutely the BEST Vacation in 10 years!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/09
OMG! This is absolutely the best resort I've ever stayed at. We booked with FAYETTE at TripGuy. First let me tell you about the booking process. We asked for some information b/c we originally wanted to go to Antigua. After seeing the flights we decided to go with Negri in Jamaica. I'm sooo glad we did. Fayette handled EVERYTHING including telling us about the butler services. Since it was our 10yr anniversay we thought sure why not - it's not that much more expensive. Taking Fayette's advice was what made our trip extra special!!! The butler will unpack for you, bring you drinks on the beach, set up ALL dinner reservations and any tours that you want to do - even things as simple as snorkeling. We literally didn't have to do anything but relax!!! Our butler even did an in-suite dinner with candles, champagne and pictures for our 10 year anniversary (this was free)!! They even reserved us lounge chairs on the beach with an umbrella - so we never had to find one!!! They also give you a list of activities of the day (which was great) We got the swim-up room. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! The bathroom was phenomenol! the walk in shower and HUGE tub was awesome! The bed was comfortable and I loved the pillows (I think we had almost 6 :-) We were close to everything! The room with the private plunge pool are not close to anything - so there is more walking involved. Our room and area was very private which was great and the fact that everything wasn't very far was even better. We stayed in room 6214 - that is the very end swim-up room and the most private!!! I will request that room for my next visit - we loved it!! Everyone at the resort is friendly. The food was great and very easily accessible at all times (try the ribs at the grill - FABULOUS). The beach is gorgeous! The water was great and the sand was great!!! It was soft to walk on and beautiful to look at! The entertainment (nightly) was great! The playmakers (during the day entertainment) was great and a lot of fun! My favorite thing to do at the resort was the snorkeling! DT (the captain of the boat) and Toby (the photographer and tour guide) were beyond entertaining!!! When ever we would go do an activity, we would stop by the photoshop and ask one of the photographers to join us. So we got pictures of EVERYTHING that we did!!! But the professional photographers are always around to get pictures if you please, so you can always just grab one! - we bought over $500 worth of pictures - they were all beautiful!! Other tours we took were the canopy tour (ziplinging through the jungle) and the Booze Cruise (to rick's cafe to cliff dive). The canopy tour was AWESOME!!!! the tour guides are hilarious! They make it so much fun that you don't have time to be a little scared! We can't wait to go back and do this again. The booze cruise was also our favorite!! You will love it!!! We went cliff diving which was exhilarating!!! If I could give this resort 10 stars I would!! Sandals Negril is absolutely the best place ever!!

Thinking of going to a Sandals in Jamaica
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
If I were you, I would say think about going to the Dunn's River sandals then. My wife and I just got back from Sandals - Negril and I would have to say it was a waste of money. The service was horrible, although there was a few awesome staff members, the rest were horrible. The food menu's were the same almost everyday and our first room was awful. Old, smelly and loud. We got to move but had to pay an extra fee for that. That room was beautiful but very pricey. It's interesting to see some of the good reviews on here but I would say stay away. Goto Dunn's River as the staff is great, rooms are awesome and food is truly awesome. Hope that helps!

Simply the best!!
By Paul S, 06/09/09
I have been to Sandals Negril 5 times, the first time in 1997. The resort and staff are absolutely first class. The food experience and choices are unbelievable and the resort is spread out enough to allow quiet and private space. At Sandals Negril there is nothing but smiles, good people and great times and memories. Must be an omen, I am writing this and my radio just started playing Bob Marleys' "No Woman No Cry" IRIE

let down...
By bridalgirl, 05/26/09
I have been to other all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica, and had never been to Sandals. I had heard great things about the resort, and the reviews looked promising. My husband and I got married there and had nothing but problems. First, our room was gross. There were bugs all over, the door didn't seal shut, and the linens were dirty. They took us to 4 different rooms before we found one we were ok with, but even that was worn down, dated, and had ants and flies everywhere. There was no night life there, again, bugs were terrible, and they do nothing to help with ants in the buildings. Every night you go to eat, there are bugs all over the table. If this is an elite resort, I would think they could do something about the bugs. The food was alright, not horrible, but not great either. I just got back and have been sick ever since so I think I did eat something bad. I have been to Couples Swept away resort in Negril, and Loved it! If anyone is thinking of going to a resort in Jamaica, Couples is the one! Don't waste your money on Sandals! I think their name is all that is carrying them at this point! Plus, we had our wedding there, and they charge for everything. They didn't give us as many choices as other all-inclusive resorts. plus, they forgot the permanent seal so I could change my name when I got back to the states so I have to wait a couple months before I can do so. Overall, a let down.

Amazing and counting the days till I can go back!
By Melissa, 10/21/08
This resort was amazing. I enjoyed everything but the night life...being a young twenty something it was pretty boring but the days were wonderful!!!! I love the bartender Andrew and Donovan!!!!! The photographer Vinten is just the best...I could pretty much consider them friends at the end of the trip! The pool is awesome and the beach is beautiful. We stayed in the honeymoon beachfront concierge rooms and had room service but rarely used it seeing as I was never in my room. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Service Horrible, will not go back
By HEATHER, 10/15/08
We stayed at Sandals Negril October 8-12, 2008. Having been to "Couples Negril" another couples-only all-inclusive resort in Negril for our Honeymoon in April 2007, I was expecting a lot more from Sandals since it is suppose to be “Luxury Included” & “Ultra All-Inclusive”. It is far from luxury and everything is not included!!! We went for our friend’s wedding and did not pick the hotel. Drink Service was horrible: You had to wait forever to get a drink at the bar. During the day, there were only two bars open, one at the mail pool and one at the beach grill. If you were at another pool, you would have to walk across the resort to get a drink. I’m still waiting to get one of my drinks...There were never enough bartenders working!!! Food Service was horrible: You had to flag someone down to get anything you needed after you sat down-including more drink. One night, the waiter never even took our drink order other than filling the water glasses. At the same meal, we were not offered dessert. There were never enough servers working!!!! This is supposed to be Luxury??? “Reservations not required” is a false statement. We went to eat at Barefoot by the Sea ans Bayside and it was a 45 minute wait at both. The Sundowner, the only air-conditioned restaurant besides Kimonos, was closed the night we were going to eat there for a private reception-which the people had to pay extra for. They do not notify you of restaurant closings in advance. Kimonos was the best place to eat & the service was good-must have reservations. Towels/floats: never enough of them. They always ran out if you weren’t able to get them first thing in the morning. Staff response to this: you have to get them early. Nasty Ocean Water/Swimming Areas: Not very clear & not blue. Swimming areas were shallow-did not reach my knee. They had seaweed all in them which was nasty on your feet. Activities: Do not stick to scheduled activities. We are a karaoke group & there was a “Sing-a-long” one night…it never happened. The dance party didn’t happen one night either…movie they were playing on the beach wasn’t finished yet was all they said. Beach Volleyball was only scheduled for once a day & it would be cancelled if there was a wedding. Not everything is included: You have to pay $59 a person for the Sunset Catamaran “Booze” Cruise. This was included at Couples. They tried to sell you “better” wine at all the sit-down (not buffet) restaurants. They also try to sell you snacks and things in your rooms too, horrible!!! And “COME BACK SOON” advertisements are everywhere. Don’t go to Negril in October: It was so humid and hot and there was not a breeze. My legs, feet and arms are covered in bug bites!!!! Check-in: 3 ladies took four couples to our rooms at the same time. We were the last ones to our room. We had to wait outside each room for them to be taken in and show them were everything was….twenty or so minutes later, we were at our room. Hotel mess-up: Sandals somehow gave our “anniversary upgrade” that our travel agent put as a special request to my parents. It was room service and a mini-bar in the room. Not too big of a deal, but yet another hotel error. Room/Bathroom: Grande Luxe Beachfront: It was small, no Luxe about it. It was suppose to have a sitting area, no chair. The bathroom does not have a fan, an outlet or air-conditioning vent! It only has louver vents you can open over the shower. In order to keep your room cool, you have to keep the bathroom door closed & the bathroom gets hot!!! Internet: You have to swipe your credit card and pay 60 cents a minute to use it. Couples Negril had three computer stations you could use for FREE! There were actually 20 of us that went and I think that the bride and groom, who paid for a butler room, were the only ones who didn’t have anything to complain about. And the wedding did look beautiful at sunset. We are a fun group so we did have a good time, despite all the things that went wrong.

Love Sandals Negril
By ronikeys, 08/25/08
My husband and I were married here in '05 and are already planning our vow renewal in '10. We visited Ocho Rios Sandals resort last year and while super nice, but we more enjoyed the intimacy of Negril. The resort and beach are beautiful and well kept. My only complaint was the photograhper for our wedding - however, he is a "contractor" and not an employee of the resort. The food was good, and the fact that we were there for 11 days and didn't pay for one drink saved us a ton of money. It says no tipping at the resort, but am here to tell you, a couple of bucks here and there goes a LONG way. We received excellent service the second we stepped onto the property and it only got better as the trip went along.

i would love to live there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/08
for the rest of my life.better than hawaii and tahiti.the weather of a constant 80 to 90 degrees and high humidity is great, the ocean temperature of a constant 80 degrees, feels like being in a giant bathtub, the food, prepared by the seven different restaurants is the best
