Not the best Ritz by any means...
By ,
location off "the beaten path". not close enough to union square. can't walk anywhere really, since it's at the top of a hill....the rooms leave you without that "first-class" feeling you expect from other ritz carltons....

treated like a queen
By ,
I went with my mom for a weekend getaway, rented a car, and watched a musical. Since the time we arrived, we were treated with friendly service and they were interested in our plans. We told them what we had arrranged, and they had taken care of all the rest. All we had to do was get dressed. They even had a driver escort us to the musical at night, so I didn't have to drive. Great service and great big, sunny room.

Great beds, small room
By ,
The beds were SO comfortable, the bathroom ammenities were appreciated, and the Ritz service was, of course, impeccable. Our room was small and the upgrade to the Club Level wasn't such a good bargain because there are so many great restaurants in San Francisco.

Enjoyed my stay for sure!

Good place to stay! My favorite hotel in this area for sure. Staff was kind. Ended up getting this hotel pretty cheap at SweetHotelDeals. Net actually.

feather beds
By ,
Quiet, slept better there than in our own beds, very friendly and helpful staff, pool and steam room beautiful. Great in house restaurant for breakfast. Car rental in house requires payment for garage parking as well (nearly more than the car rental itself)

Will definitely return
By ,
Not surprisingly, we enjoyed our stay at a Ritz. This particular hotel provided a central location and solid amenities. The room was large and nicely appointed. Would definitely recommend as a luxury hotel option in San Francisco.

very good Ritz, a tad stuffy and is very fromal like. I perfer the Four Seasons in San Fran, its more comfy. Ritz is good but to stuffy and fromal for my taste

The consierge floor was fantastic. Wine, deserts, and snacks galore. The people were incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone made it their personal mission to make you totally comfortable and happy.

Sleepless at the Ritz
By ,
Do not book into 2nd floor, odd number rooms. You will find yourself right above street level and be awakened (if you can fall asleep) during the night by motorcycles racing up the hill, cars zooming, sirens, and a crossing guard whistling every morning for the school children being dropped off at the school across the street. Otherwise, it is clean and service people are friendly and accomodating. A bit off the beaten path but not any quieter!
