It is the worst service I ever got
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/11
I arrive with my room tripple booked. They had no courtsey, no manners and no training how to greet guests. They put me in a hotel 2 miles away. I came to rapid city for a conference which was taking place in the rushmore holiday inn. ALong with me they placed many other professors and reserachers in Rammada inn and grandstay hotel. The second day of the conference I came to know they had taken guests in and that they had moved many guests from grandstay and ramada inn back into holiday inn but they niether informed me nor moved me. I have been attending the conference by shuttleing between two hotels. Terrible service. No apologies. The only bright spot is that drivers for shuttles are nice people

Fair At Best
By Michael Wenzel, 6/16/08
One of the main reasons we stay at Holiday Inn is because of their Kids Eat Free policy. As a result, we ate at the restaurant 4 times over our stay. There are exceptional people that must carry the load of the incompentants. The greeter in the morning and the man who runs the omelet station were the only bright spots. Everything else was below par. The wait staff submitted checks that did not deduct the kids meals. They also have poor experience in serving kids. One wait person served my three year old her orange juice in a tall glass. She could barely lift it. At supper time on Friday, the greeter informed us that if we were ordering from the menu, the wait would be long. At least she was honest about it. The night before we waited almost an hour for our supper meals. When we checked out on Sat. morning, we noted 5 restaurant charges. When I brought this discrepancy to the attention of the desk clerk, she immediately went into "pass the buck" mode. Some of her quotes,"I do not control what the restaurant charges", "Which item is wrong? How do I know which charge to correct?" She never offered any solution to the problem. She begrudgingly removed one of the charges with the comment " I will give you the benefit of the doubt." After I went past the desk a half hour later, she volunteered information that one of charges was probably the kids meals. The beds were only full size. One bed sagged in the upper corner. Needless to say, I did not sleep well. That is unfortunate because all the rooms face an atrium. Unless someone is walking past your room while talking, you hear no disruptions.

great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/3/08
i stayed there for wild west winterfest a church of god youth retreat. the staff handled everything very well. the rooms are clean (queen beds would be nice, but i understand doubles are the norm these days). everything was ran efficiently. although i would recommend a bigger coffee shop with more than one barista, the poor girl was always swamped. great hotel this was the 3rd time i'd been there. keep it up.

Enjoyed my stay
By Gamma Kiss, 9/14/07
We found room service to be excellent, anything you needed at any time. The room was very comfortable with different areas for reading and sleeping with two TV's. The king size bed was down right comfortable with plenty of pillows, the other furniture couch, chairs were also very comfortable. The Staff at the front desk were very helpful for directions, times etc. The location of the hotel was very convenient, being near the historic center and museum and the beautiful park next to it. The Mall is only a matter of minutes driving time. Only ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The service was very good the first day but lacking on the second. The food was fair. There are plenty of eating places out and about. Didn't use the pool, but did use the hotel computer which was very handy.

Best In Town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/07
My family and I loved this hotel. It is beautiful, although the rooms are aging a bit. The service was out of this world. They could teach a class around the world.

Very nice, but a little too fancy for regular people...
By Mac, 11/12/06
My seventy-three year old mother and I stayed for three-nights at the Holiday Inn Rapid City-Rushmore Plaza starting on Saturday, July 29th, 2006. When we arrived at the hotel, we were very impressed with the lobby area and the waterfall. The room we were eventually given was nice and comfortable and very large, with three pillows per bed, a clock radio, a comfy chair, a desk and chair, a round table, and a large (fifty-plus channel) television in a cabinet with remote, as well as a beautiful view of downtown Rapid City and a park. The medium-sized bathroom was functional and relatively clean, with three sets of towels, a hairdryer, and one bottle of shampoo. However, while the room was spotless, the bathroom fan was surprisingly quite filthy for such a posh hotel. Also, we found that the glass containers were only rinsed and not cleaned, as I could still taste the Listerine I used from the night before. I made use of the Business Center downstairs, and was able to access the Internet through one of the computers, as the other one did not work. We found it strange that such a big hotel would only have two elevators, and we found that they were very slow and we always had to wait a long time to use them. We rated this hotel as the second best on our trip, but we still felt uncomfortable staying there. It was just too "high class" for us, and we seemed "out of place" at the hotel.

Luxurious Palace
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/14/06
I cannot tell you how unique the waterfall in this hotel is. If you don't believe me go for your self and tell them Austin from Cape Cod sent you. Just ride in there elevator and you will want to stay on the 8th floor. My wife and I stayed at pricey hotel the first two nights of our stay and didn't get any sleep. We made reservations and the front desk was respectful of our needs. I will tell everyone how wonderful our stay was.Definetly go for their smorgous board Sunday Brunch.

Poor Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/05
Very poor service, which explains why the rates are so low! Horrible rooms, in need of severe renovation. Went to the pool and there was a green slime ring all around it. When I told the front desk lady, she said there's always the public pool & laughed. Not exactly funny!

Nice motel
By JOHNL, 5/10/05
Great motel, kids loved pool, convenient location for our trip. Wasn't very happy with powdered eggs in the breakfast buffet, but had real eggs on the weekend.
