2 star resort
By Rachelle, 12/12/09
THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A 4+ STAR UNIVERSAL RESORT. THE ROOMS WERE MAYBE A 2 STAR, NOTHING FANCY AND POORLY CLEANED. ALOT OF COB WEBS IN THE ROOM,DIRTY GLASSES, DUSTY SURFACES, AND WALLS WERE IN POOR CONDITION, CARPET VERY DIRTY. THE ONLY THING GOOD ABOUT THIS RESORT WAS THE SUSHI AT ORCHIRDS ONE OF THE 4 RESTURANTS AT THE RESORT. I ATE AT JAKES AND THAT WAS THE WORST FOOD. I HAD TO SEND MY PLATE BACK TWICE AND STILL WAS NOT ANY GOOD. I WOULD LIKE ALL TO KNOW , I AM NOT WRITTING THIS BECAUSE I WAS MAD ABOUT SOMETING AND WANT TO GIVE A BAD REVIEW, THIS IS MERELY THE FACTS!!! I STAYED 6 NIGHTS THIS HOTEL AND MY ROOM WAS NEVER REALLY CLEANED. ALL TEH MAIDS WOULD DO WAS EMPTY THE TRASH, MAKE MY DIRTY BED SHEETS (NEVER CHANGED THEM EVEN WHEN I REQUESTED) EVERYDAY, AND LEAVE FRESH TOWELS. TEH MAIDS NEVER WIPED DOWN ANY SURFACES NOR DID THEY CLEAN THE NASTY SHOWER FROM DAY ONE(SHOWER WAS DIRTY UPON ARRIVAL). I REALLY HAVE TO ADMIT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO COME TO ORLANDO TO HAVE SOME WONDERFULL FAMILY FUN GO TO DISNEY WORLD. BECAUSE BETWEEN THE ACCOMIDATIONS AND THE EMPLOYEES AT UNIVERSAL IT IS CLEARLY A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY. I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT ALMOST EVERY EMPLOYEE AT THIS RESORT AND UNIVERSAL CLEARLY MADE IT KNOW THAT THEY DID NOT LIKE THERE JOB. HOW MUCH FUN IS IT TO BE ON VACTIONS WITH PARTY POOPERS LIKE THAT.... GO TO DISNEY. I HAD A WONDERFULL TIME THERE !!!

wonderful family experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/09
have just returned from 2 weeks at Loews Pacific. We had a wonderful time. The kids loved being able to hop on the boat and take themselves over to Universal. But the highlight for them was the wonderful pool staff and swimming until 10pm. The rooms are on the small side but have the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in.

Best week of my life!
By Pete, 10/23/09
I just want to let you know that this was my first trip to Florida and living in New Jersey I didn't know what to expect. The Royal Pacific is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen, it was like being on a tropical island. Your staff were so friendly and courteous, the grounds flawless and the palm trees a new love of mine. I have to admit that I had such fun taking pictures because everywhere you look is a picture. It was one of the nicest experiences of my life and am so looking forward to coming back to the Royal Pacific in the future. My daughter-in-law, son and grandson enjoyed our stay with you and want to thank you so much for such a nice experience on my first visit to Florida. I highly recommend the Royal Pacific to anyone who wants to feel like "royalty" on vacation! Thanks for so many good memories! Thanks so much, Mary E. Schaeffer Carney's Point, New Jersey

Resort nice, free transportation not
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/09
We just returned from 9 day stay at Universal Royal Pacific Resort... Very beautiful resort and staff was very willing to please. Upgraded to club level and it was conveinent with drinks, computer use, and comfortable place to hang out. Our only disappointment was the supposed free "scheduled" transportation to SeaWorld area parks. It was free, but there were only 18 passes per 1000 guest rooms... You had to arrange this 24 hours ahead of time and hope you got there in time to get a pass. And.... the times for pickup and drop off were just not conveinent to park hours (pickup 10:15 and drop off 6:30 - SeaWorld open until 10 p.m.)... So beware of this. Otherwise we had a great time and the Express Pass for staying at Universal resort in the parks was well worth it.

PLACES LIKE THIS ARE OVERPRICED WANNABES!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/09
During my stay service at the Royal Pacifica Orlando was something I had to explain and ask for from the entry level experienced staff. I expected a lot more from them especially when I could have stayed at the Ritz for the same price. It became apparant why the staff was indifferent to my requests for basic service. It is because of managements willingness to ignore you. We were forced to make repeated calls and visits to the front desk to get our bed made. It took housekeeping 3 days to get to our room. We suggest that the entire staff at Royal Pacifica get some pointers next door from the staff at the Hard Rock Hotel. WARNING!!!! Use your own pillows!! Unzipping the pillow cases at Royal Pacifica Orlando reveals a filthy unsanitary mess that should have been thrown away 10 years ago. Beware of the outdoor luau buffet. You are squeezed together like cattle and you will find yourself babysitting someone elses children seated at your table. After all, isn't it worth $50 apiece for the pleasure? Naturally breakfest is also buffet style where service ability from staff is at a minimum. Once at the pool they go out of their way to get you food and beverage where they are not ashamed to add on the tip. Since there must be thousands of Hawaiian themed resorts, I see nothing lasting here, in the absence of any marketing symmetry coming out of the Loews Group in New York.

Awesome Place
By JonathanO, 12/14/08
For its price it is by far the best hotel in Universal. Overall it was extremely clean and the room was very comfortable. The staff were very kind and made my holiday a very nice stay. The hotel and the park were much nicer and more fun than anything in Disney. It was an extremely fun experience for my family. I would definetely recommened it to anyone looking to get away for a while. I spent five nights in the hotel and that was just about enogh time to get to see everything Universal had to offer. The food in the hotel was excellent. The prices were very good too.

Family Vacation
By Kos, 07/16/08
This is our family's favorite hotel in Orlando. It's our favorite of the 3 Universal hotels as well. The south pacific feel is very relaxing. The staff is helpful although sometime slow to respond and you may need to call twice for requests. The atmosphere is great. The pool area is relaxing and nice. It's pricey but no more than any other "in the park" location. All the Disney stuff is close by, and there are some grocery stores close if you want to stock your room up. The boat ride to City Walk is nice and if you stay long enough you may get free tickets to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. The breakfast buffet at the main resturant is definitely worth it. The building has been around for a while now and the rooms are begining to show some wear and tear, but the rest of the property is wonderful. Overall I highly reccomend this hotel.

not too shabby
By Thomas, 05/19/08
Price was high for level of service. While the staff was attentive and the rooms clean I've paid less for better. convienance a huge plus tho. If you hate getting in your car on vacation this is a good choice for Universal. Free water taxi to City walk, Universal Studios and the other hotels which saves you a bit on walking/taxis. sadly the best customer service was from the valet and the phone operator while the rest of the employees seemed tired or uninterested in doing anything more than the minimum. btw expect to be charged for everything..nothing is included 'cept the towels at the pool.

Worst Ever
By ClearRainbow, 05/11/08
For 317 dollars per night, plus tax, plus parking, I expected a better room, better service, and a more enjoyable stay. We booked a water view room with 2 queen beds for my husband, my son and myself. Waterview? If I craned my neck I could just about see the kiddie pool. That wouldn't have bothered me, after all I didn't go to Florida to look at it through a window. However the room was very small, the beds took up most of it. There was a table with 2 chairs, but the table was so cluttered with the phone, internet, lamp, magazine rack full of useless phamplets etc that there was no room to use the table. The bathroom was so small it did not even contain a sink or a mirror. There was no counter space at all to put our toiletries etc.The tv only got 23 channels and at least 4 of them were hotel info channels. The website claimed all rooms had a flat screen tv. Ours sure didn't. As for the service, or should I say lack of, there were 2 days I had to ask for towels because we didn't get any. There was one day that not only did the housekeeper not empty our trash but she brought in more and left it behind! Our first day there we asked for valet parking, which incidently you pay through the nose for, but self parking isn't much cheaper. When we came back to the hotel that night, there were no valets there and we had to self park anyway and walk quite a long distance. Valet parking claims to be available 24 hours per day... well not so. I made them remove the valet charge. As for the mini bar, it was not restocked one time durring our entire 9 days there. I used the milk for my coffee and it was never replaced. The second time I asked for it to be replaced they sent someone up from room service with a pitcher of milk and glasses! I said NO that will NOT fit in the mini bar and I had better not get a bill for room service! They said someone would be right back to restock it, well nobody ever came. The next day we used the orange juice, which was never restocked either. After 4 days I bought my own at walgreens and put it in the mini bar. The next thing I know we come back to the room and there is a note by the mini bar that we are being charged 30 dollars for removing their items and replacing them with our own. Excuse me???? I only removed what I used, and I asked a dozen times for it to be replaced! Oh they also claim the minibar is not cold enough to keep milk and juice.... funny it is cold enough to keep theirs at 4 bucks each. Anyway I made them remove that charge. Funny they can send someone to peep in the mini bar to see if I have put anything in it but they can not restock it. Next day when we come back to the room the red light on the phone is blinking that we have a message. The message was "you have been fined 100 dollars for smoking in a non smoking room" What??? who asked you to put me in anon smoking room I said?? I never asked for one! and you can not charge me 100 bucks when I was not even told. I told them get someone to carry my luggage to my "smoking room" But then they decided I should just smoker where I was. It seems there were no waterview rooms that allow smoking. Smokers are too lowly to have a view of the kiddie pool I guess. I tried to mail some film while I was there but it wouldn't fit their tiny mail slot. The concierge offered to take it and send it out in the morning with their outgoing mail. It was all addressed, and ready to go. 10 days later a ups truck left it at my home. Instead of mailing it they paid UPS deliver it to my home. Not exactly the brightest group of people I have ever met. I know all 3 hotels are the same owner but the last 2 times before this one we stayed at the hard rock and the service was much better and the rooms were normal sized. We just thought it would be nice to stay at the "new" hotel this time. What a waste of money. I will never stay there again.

AWESOME
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/08
The Royal Pacific Resort excellent service, great staff and overall a real nice resort. Water taxi boats to theme parks were always on time. The Emeril restaurant was excellent. The food at the pool area nice large portion and great prices. They should add another whirpool. The pool was great. This is a 5 star resort.
