Had the most amazing experience
By michael, 10/22/12
The wife and kids took me here as a surprise for my birthday. I can honestly tell you this I best vacation I ever had. The hotel was amazing food, service, a bit pricy but if you only go once a year like us it's ok. The have a Hawaiian style dinner just like your are on the beach in Hawaii the food was so good and you get a nice little fire dance show. If you are park goers like us staying onsite allowed us to do it all more than once which in my book was icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great vacation!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/11
My 13 year old daughter and I just stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando and had such a great time! Our room was beautiful and was on the 7th floor overlooking the pool area...so the view couldn't be beat. There were a couple reviews on here about bed bugs- so I checked our beds thoroughly and there was nothing to be found- the room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. There were a lot of activities by the pool for children- but since my daughter is older- the only thing we did was the torch lighting ceremony which was fun. We got into the parks an hour early which was a huge help especially with Harry Potter since the lines get pretty long if you get there past 8:00am. Also- the beat-the-line passes got us through the lines in less than 5 minutes for most of them- but they didn't work for Harry Potter's Forbidden Journey ride- but the most we waited for that was 45 minutes because we got there early. Also- the food in the Pacific Dining Room was really good- especially the breakfast! This was such a wonderful vacation and we will be back!!!

Ladies' Underwear found in the bed! Please read!
By k, 7/18/11
I never write a review, but due to this experience I believe it needs to be done! We came in late to room 1554 tower one after going to a near by park. I was laying in the bed with my clothes on (Good thing!) My kids were in the next bed falling asleep. My husband turned back the covers next to me and to our surprise Ladies' underwear was found in our bed. I quickly woke my kids up at 12 AM - who knows what they were sleeping on. The operator was called and I was told to talk to Craig Curtis the Manager on Duty (M.O.D.) I was told he was coming to the room, instead after ten minutes Christian Maxville and Joe O. came to the room. They asked if we wanted switch rooms in the middle of the night. We refused due to packing everything, so a housekeeper would come change the sheets and morning MOD Ihab will call us. When housekeeper came, it was not a lot of room in the hotel we went downstairs to the front desk to talk to Craig Curtis. He was too busy on the phone to come see us. Christian again helped us and returned my money for one night in cash the way I paid it. I was given breakfast buffet which we had to ask for and rubber band bracelets were given to the kids after they asked for it. No other phone calls were ever made to us during our trip to make sure we were ok. Only an email after completing the survey just confirming my thoughts. Nothing given as a solution to the problem. I was sick and appalled all night! How do you pay over 300$ a night to be given a dirty, disgusting room with girls' underwear in it. Housekeeping is terrible! The pool area and location is nice - but..... Please beware!

Highly overrated.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/10
I had a 2 day stay and was just not impressed. Cheap furniture in the room. I have never had a room where you can see wiring for lamps and phone across the rooms. Dust in the bathrooms. Paper thin walls and doors. Maids come a knocking at 8:30am. Walkway to Citywalk is very long and curvy path. When it is cold outside a enclosed boat is better then the open air one. $15.00 a day for parking. No walkway to the parking lot. Felt very insecure. Also once you check out scanning your card does not get you out of the parking lot.

Look Elsewhere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/10
Like the appearance of being someplace special. Well maintained grounds. Close to Universal but nothing else. Food was average. Disliked the lack of responsiveness to problems. Disliked the high prices with no alternative within walking distance. Disliked lack of public transportation. Disliked the high parking fee. Disliked the attitude of 'keep you and your money in Universal'

Some good & Some Bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/10
We just got back from our vacation and here were some of the great things abhout staying in this Hotel...Great service, the pool is a great place to relax. You can have your drinks brought to you at poolside. The rstaurants are fantastic, clean with great food and service. I actually was stung by a wasp at poolside and they had a burse come and check me out to make sure I was OK. I was very impressed with the level of service. You roomkey was your express pass...That was a huge plus..well worth it.. Some of the bad things....Maid service could have been better...some days our room was not ready until late afternoon. I was not happy that I also had to pay for parking...Are you kidding me???....With all the money we paid to stay there they charged for parking..I did not mind paying for the extras at the pool or paying a little extra for drinks but I did mind that I had to pay for parking. I thought that was a bit too much and kind of low class on their part....all and all it was good and despite the parking thing I would go back

Had a great time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/24/10
This is our second year at the Royal Pacific. The staff is friendly, a little slow to get our room ready but that is understandable due to the Harry Potter park with ten's of thousands coming int to see it. Food was good and the wait staff at the Island dining room exceptional. We will be going back next year.

Horrid service
By Sydney, 6/22/10
Ok, so we arive at the hotel. I'm very impressed with the attmosphere, the place looks great and the staff was very pleasant. Well, pleasant is the only thing they are. The valet parking is 20, self parking 15. We went to our room after paying a good 65 in advance for self parking the 4 days we would stay. We go to our room, and it's very clean, very nice, except for the huge water stain from the air conditioner that was leaking. So we call the front desk, and tell them that there is a huge wet spot. They said that they would send someone right on up there. and never did. So we come back and the maid calls the desk because the floor is wet. They still didn't come. So we put down a note saying, "Big wet spot here!" pointing to the spot. Nobody came. The next day they call us at about 8 saying that we need to change rooms immeadiantly, because the leak is spreading. So we were ticked. And we go to move rooms, but we can't use a luggage cart because thats a liability. So we had to tip the guy to get a waterfront room. If we squinted, we could just see a tiny sliver of the pool past the huge palm tree planted right in front of the window. The "complementary" fridge was locked up so we couldn't use it, and the customer serviace was horrable. The lady at the ice cream stand would handle your food after touching money, with no gloves or anything. The people working there obviously have no training, because it took 4 people to set up a table. The managment did not alert the employes at the Harry Potter theme park that they would be letting their customers in at 6, because the workers showed up at 7:30. Managment also gave us a free early checkout, usless because we left the hotel a day early, and a free breakfast, which they then refused to change to lunch. The prices for everything are through the roof, and the health room was empty because you have to pay 10 dollors to get in. They add a 18% Balla charge for a group of 4, and a caricature in the hotel costs 60 for two and in the park it's 30 for two. The location wasn't wonderful, but wasn't bad, either. You could take a very long walk to city walk and go from there, so it was fairly easy to get into the park. You do have to pay to hop between parks, even though the tickets for both came in the package we bought. All in all, it's a rediculously high priced hotel with a manager that doesn't have a clue and is as greedy as a pig.

Overrated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/1/10
I had a terrible time. The room was dirty (mold on the curtains/hair on the floor/stains on the bed sheets) and the staff was rude, except for the lady at the desk. Whatever you do don't go in the pool it's dirty. I went in and ended up sick. I barely saw them clean the pool while I was there. I've stayed at a Travelodge once and saw someone clean the pool practically everyday. All I have to say is, I had high expectations and left disappointed. I was happy to get home.

wonderful family experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/7/09
have just returned from 2 weeks at Loews Pacific. We had a wonderful time. The kids loved being able to hop on the boat and take themselves over to Universal. But the highlight for them was the wonderful pool staff and swimming until 10pm. The rooms are on the small side but have the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in.
