June London trip

Good points: 1. Great location, near Victoria train station in central London. 2. Attractive outside and inside, room was spacious, nicely appointed, comfortable, A/C worked great. 3. Room service staff was friendly and efficient, twice we ordered meals and were great both times (try the burgers, hmmm).
Bad points: 1. Lobby staff weren't as cordial as I would have liked. 2. Beware of the "Executive Room" deal, costs 25 pounds per day (for a couple), get a mediocre continental breakfast, 1 hr of room Internet access (need your own laptop), room available at 7-10AM, 2-5PM and 6-8PM, business travellers may like this. Executive room keys almost never worked. Use of Internet terminals there is an extra charge. 3. Gym was supposedly out of order, but I used my room key and entered with no problem and used the equipment (nice). Then some snooty personal trainer came in and couldn't give me a good reason why the gym was closed, but he and one of his clients were there because of an appointment.
Overall, the hotel itself was fine. Some of the amenities were not so fine. For under $200 a night I felt it was a good deal despite the inconveniences.
