Hearthside Extended Stay Austin, Austin

08/07/05 My boyfriend and I stayed at the 7101 North I-35 location for two nites. The clerk at the front desk was more interested in smoking than customer service. When we opened the door to our room, awful stale air came out. There were broken boards on the floor from the dresser. The mattress was stained and the two tiny pillows were so old. The remote control had masking tape wrapped around it. The shower handle broke off when my boyfriend turned it. There was one large towel and two face towels. The next day my boyfriend was told to get new sheets and towels because room service was not available. You get what you paid for is so true. We would not recommend this place to anyone, even if it was free.

I guess nothing has changed there. My experience at this place was so bad that I blocked the name of it from my memory til now. I had to use yahoo maps to remember the name (by location) so I could write a bad review. I would not be surprised if this place has an hourly rate if you get what I'm saying. I did not even stay there 1 night. I ran away scared to the LaQuinta across the way (which wasn't far enough, just exiting the highway at that location gave me the creeps!). If you are female and single, do not go here, even if there is a group of you. You will get mistaken for a prostitute! And the previous reviewer was right, you don't need a black light to see what's on the carpet, the comforter, and the sheets. Also, this place is not safe. We went to check in around 10pm and there all kinds of ganster-looking types hanging around in the parking lot playing loud music out of their cars (looking to pick up prostitutes?). The only good thing I can say for this place is that they didn't give me any trouble when I came back 5 minutes later and said, "This place is unacceptable, I would like to cancel my reservation." They asked why and so I told them the above. They were pretty quick to get me out of there.
