Residence Inn Milwaukee Downtown, Milwaukee

Our room was next to the river. We awoke to the sounds of sea gulls and the sun shining in though these massive floor to ceiling windows. The ceiling height has to be greater thsn 16 feet. We had a sitting room/kitchen/dining table. It was huge. The bedroom/bathroom was efficient and spacious. The breakfast buffet was hot, varied and ample. One of the best free breakfasts we have had. We are AAA so the room rate was good. We splurged on in house parking which was quite nice and convenient. I would stay at this facility again in a heartbeat.

The hotel was in a great location in downtown Milwaukee along the river. The room was clean, spacious, and included mini kitchen. Full breakfast was included though seating was difficult to find. Cons: The entrance was difficult to navigate with little space to park. Overnight parking was offsite, about a block away, and cost $12 per night. I would definitely stay there again next time.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and happily printed maps for us to help us get where we were going. The room itself was large, but somewhat sparsely decorated (plain white walls, minimal pictures, scant furniture). We had a suite on the northeast side that overlooked Wisconsin Street and the river. That being said, it was extremely noisy at night (we stayed on a Friday and Saturday). There was a band that played outdoors at a club right across the river, which sounded like it was in our room until about midnight. Then the street noise and traffic noise continued until about 2:00 AM each morning, when it finally quieted down. I've stayed in many downtown hotels, but this one was by far the noisiest. Also, we had our kids with us, and there was surprisingly no swimming pool! For business, this hotel might be fine if you stay in a room on the west side of the building (perhaps), but with kids who like to swim in the summertime, look elsewhere.

I definitely enjoyed the room sizes, the ceilings were very high and vry nice. Service was great. I highly reccomend asking for Carrol or Lash to help you (we love them). Price was affordable. I'd definitely go back. The only hting I had a problem with was certain staff members were not as attentive as those mentioned.
