The Stowaway Grand Hotel, Ocean City

Had a retreat and they moved our meeting location the day of the retreat to a restaurant...too much noise from electronic units...gas leak from a pilot light that was out in the kitchen and not what I asked for from the beginning when I booked it.....I really wanted to like this place because the price was the best I could find....got more than I bargained for in the negative...

The grand is dirty.There are roaches and if there is 1 there is  1,0000 the next day.And if 1 shall get in one of your bags then you go home you have roaches.They are supposed to have a heated pool but it's cold.Hey they even have a arcade ,but none of the games work it takes your money.The maintance is poor. We will not be back.

If you like being woke up with fire alams going off at 1 AM & then again at 2AM this is your place!! If you like wet floors from the rain coming in then this is your place!!! Grand Hotel where is the Grand didn't see it there. Musty smell in hallway from rain soaked carpets. never again. Wouldn't recomend this place!!!! Fire alarms are a regular occurance according to the locals that live near by!!!!

For the 5th year in a row we have stayed at the Stowaway Grand Hotel. It is a great place to stay. The design of the hotel is such that almost every room has a wonderful ocean view. The only down sides are that it is very pricey and the cleaning service could do a little better job. Here's a tip..instead of getting reservations - just show up. We did and saved $100.00 per night!

The hotel is beautiful with a huge lobby and a 24 hour coffee shop! Our room had a great view and was very clean and spacious. Staff was friendly and we even had a massage at the salon. Make sure to get an oceanfront room... it's sooo worth it!

Frankly, the only good thing about this place is the location. Housekeeping is laughable! Check in is a disaster!! At my check in two women were complaining that they could not get into their rooms. Turned out they were both booked into the same room1 How does that happen? Our second day there management informed us that "we don't think we charged you enough" Even though we had a paid receipt. We were told they would get back to us-which they never did. When we got our credit card statement the next month we found that had charged us an additional $178. Totally unprofessional, and completely inexcusable!! To be honest, we have stayed at the Grand for five years-because we really love the location. And each year service has gone slightly downhill. This was our last year!! I really hope they enjoyed that extra $178. cause it's the last dime they will ever get from me!!!

I liked the location and the views were awesome!!! Our room had a wet carpet, so wet when you stepped on it there was water visable!! Contacting maintenance & was told they would get back to me - went to the desk about an hour later (midnightish) and the ONE person there was asleep in the office, and I couldn't get her attention! Left a note and no-one called - went to the desk in the morning and they knew nothing, and offered to do nothing.... On the rates - I called and was quoted two rates - one for Saturday and one Sunday... upon check in I was told that it was the same rate for Saturday and Sunday... only if I checked in on Sunday would I get that rate! Then when I checked out because of the wet carpet they weren't supposed to charge me the full amount - gave me a receipt that said one thing then they charged my credit card for the full amount!!! UGGGhhhh... Of course no one is available to discuss this at 2pm (not sure why) so I'm waiting for a call back... I'll never stay there again....

I called and was quoted $319 for one night and when we got there the lady said the same room was $389! When I told her I was quoted $319 on the phone and that $389 wasn't even quoted on their internet site, the unfriendly lady said to ignore those prices, the manager told them to charge $389 cause they were almost full. Place is not worth it- nobody in the whole hotel smiles, entertainment in lounge was terrible, outside metal seating is rusted- not what you would expect at an expensive hotel!

Hotel was clean,view isnt bad,,bar was ok,not really a hangout tho. if you wanted to use the internet you had to find a desk down in the lobby area to use it,a/c worked ok,shower pressure isnt good esp when you have alot of sand to deal with,location and parking garage was great. All of the staff were not friendly,front desk,bartender,cafe,all of em just didnt seem like they care about anything. Made a reservation 4 months prior and requested a middle floor and got the 2nd floor,Front desk said cant help you.

We only live 30 miles away and couldn't wait for our "weekend getaway" for our 33rd anniversary in April. Our weekend was wonderful...great service and breathtaking view of the ocean! That's all it takes. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the bake shop goodies outside the lobby. Can't wait to come back this Fall.
