Lives Up to its Name

Dirty, dark, dingy. Any idiot could get through their non security to get into the hotel hallways from outside or the casino. Housekeeping totally forgot us, then they didn't have the staff to clean the room. We asked for more towels and a woman brought one towel -- naturally, she didn't speaka word of English when we asked for more. Plus the front desk people refused to accept any responsibility or make any adjustment for our wretched stay. Avoid this place at all cost (unless you can't afford anything else-- but believe me, there are far better places to stay downtown for less).

I liked the location and the cleanliness of this smaller hotel and casino. The food is always great.

Can we go swimming?
By ,
Can't beleive that the pool closes at 8:00pm. It's summer and it's not even dark yet. Most hotels allow you to use the pool until 10:00 - 11:00.

I could tell you more if I GOT to the room . . .
By ,
I booked this room for out-of-town family who don't have a credit card. I paid online, but there was still the deposit fee of $40, which is usually accepted in cash as long as you have ID at this hotel. I had forgotten about this fee, so my brother called me about it. He had $30, and had driven here from California for my son's first birthday after getting off work. He left and got more money. However, when he came back, all of a sudden the rules had changed. The employee he had previously spoken to was "new" and didn't know what he was talking about. Now a credit card was required. He was completely exhausted, but didn't want me to have to come down and take time away from my son on his party day. So he drove home tired, all because of $10. He had the cash. I offered to pay for the $40 using the same card I booked with over the phone. Nothing on the website states a credit card is required upon check-in. This place risked my brother's life and yours by letting him drive when he was so tired, (and angry from the whole experience).

Terribles is not so terrible!
By ,
Everything was great, and I would definitely stay here again. It's a little tricky getting in and out (they trap you by the casino, but isn't that the deal everywhere?), but they give you little reason to leave anyway. Unless you want to go to the strip, of course, which is only about a 15-20 minute walk away. And who couldn't use the exercise, after filling up on their bountiful buffet! The casino is nice and small and the dealers are friendly, a hospitality you won't get in most large hotels. The pool area is lovely, too. Its not luxury, but all in all, a great value!

Friendlier Places
By ,
Worse experiences were in the sportsbook where it is managed by an unfriendly, could care less, your the customer so it's your problem types. Chama and a couple of the other female writers are friendly, should be promoted types. The little McDonalds has been removed to make way for more slots for the pigeons, and this a cute convenience lost. The coffee shop has some good dinner values. This joint promoted itself has the "Local's Favorite" and I am at a loss to figure out why. Avoid this place.

Vegas on a budget? This is the place.
By ,
Terribles has everything you need for a good time in Las Vegas--inexpensive food and drinks, decent casino, pleasant accommodations. The pool area is very nice. The dealers and hotel staff are friendly. You're off the strip but it isn't hard to get there. Terribles is a great solution to the ever-rising price of a Vegas vacation.
