Anywhere but here
By football fan, 7/18/12
Arrived with a party of 8 only to find out a reservation that was paid for got lost. Took two hours to register. Asked to see a manager and was referred to three females who got a good laugh out of the problem and went on with their conversation. Elevators took 20-30 minutes in the Rainbow Tower at peak times. Breakfast at the Rainbow Lanu was another bust. Wait 20-30 minutes then be escorted by empty table after empty table. Same goes for other eating places. The staff at registration were exceptional but finding a room when the place was sold out is hard. Then the kids tried the "Hilton Spirit of Aloha" for scuba and snub which was a disaster (complaint being filed with the Coast Guard). Expensive and mostly all show with little substance. Management leaves much to be desired. First Hilton I would never stay at again nor recommend.

Over-Rated
By Eric Petsch, 6/2/09
Christmas 2008 family vacation, First time to Hawaii, Nice but no need to go back. Hotel Way too expensive, no the friendliest service I have had. Just felt like I was nickeled and dimed for everything. Beach nothing to write home about, Way too crowded, did like other parts of the Island (North & West) do really see any need to stay in Waikiki. Anyway just my 2 cents.

Rooms Need Renovation
By Elizabeth, 2/18/09
You never have to leave "the village" but there is no drinking past 11pm. The room decor is outdated but the staff is great. The grounds are beautiful and the luau is great for families. Food in general is overpriced, but there are lots of options in "the village". Great for families with more than one child, but adults looking for more late night fun should stay somewhere newer and explore Eastward.

Service in Paradise
By Thomas Read, 9/26/05
The overall atmoshpere of the Hilton was exactly what you dream of when you think of vacations. The village setting with all the different restaurants, shops, exhibits, landscaping with animals and clubs sometimes made it difficult to want to leave the resort to go to the other attractions on the island. The service was very good, and you have so many options that it would be difficult to imagaine an individual not being able to engage in something that excited them. The proximity to Honolulu and Waikiki is great and you have the rest of paradise to explore when you do find time to leave the resort. You have the beach as well as swimming pools with everything you could imagine at your beckon call. It is a very well developed and managed property, that is worth looking into.

Been there 7 times. Going back in 2007
By Dorothy, 6/27/05
It is located right in the heart of Waikiki Absolutely FABULOUS! "The Bus" is totally accessable there. You can go any where on the island on it;Really no need to even rent a car. The shops right on the property are fantastic. It has a wonderful swimming pool at the Lagoon Tower, but, don't miss the main pool. Lots always going on there. A free hula show every Friday night, and fireworks. We were there in Febuary once during the pro bowl game. A lot of the players stay at the Hilton and you find them lounging around the main pool. The condos in the Lagoon Tower are a whole story in themselves! Absolutely beautiful! One, two and three bedroom units. Fully equipped kithens and beautiful livingrooms with glass sliding doors out onto private balconies. Definitely a "MUST STAY" in Honolulu!

What a way to Go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/05
When you turn in off Ala Moana Blvd. You know you have arrived at someplace special. If you are lucky to arrive at night you will never forget your first sight of the Hilton. The Torches are lit and the Statues of the Hula welcome you with ALOHA. You pass The Shops and Restaurants, and finally your Tower sitting right on the Ocean. What more could anyone want. You could never leave and have everything you need right here. We were pleasantly greeted by the staff and soon felt at home. Our room was clean and ready at our arrival. Our suite was a two bedroom with two balconies, with a view of the Ocean and Diamond Head. The Fully stocked Kitchen allowed us to eat breakfast and Lunch in the room saving money to spend on the Fantastic Restaurants. Do not miss The Golden Dragon at sunset not only was the food gourmet but the atmosphere ahhh I want to go back now! Walk out the front door and if you turn right you can chose between a dip in the small but private pool and hot tub or a walk along the Beach. Turn Left and a world of shopping and dining is at your command. The Hotel provided local flavor in activities such as weaving palms or making leis. At night there was a small Hula show and on Fridays there is Hula and Fireworks. You could just stay on grounds and have a nice experience but you would miss Hawaii rent a car the Bell men was great at telling when and where to go each day to try something new. Malasadas are Delicious hot donuts only made in Hawaii and you have to get up very early to snorkel at Hanauma Bay. This could be a once in a lifetime experience but for us we will return as often as possible.
