Nice Chain & Rooms / Evidence of Cost-Cutting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/07
I have stayed at the Jersey City Candlewood a couple times.
The first time I encountered ants in my first floor room. This was during the summer. They didnt move me. They stated that someone would come to look at the ants (in the bathroom) sometime that day. They persisted thruout the weekend.
During my return in September I have encountered two major issues with the place.
1. They have what may be the slowest high-speed internet I've ever encountered at a hotel. And it cannot be excused by bad wireless connectivity because it is wired right from the wall. I've stayed for 3 weeks and reported this and nothing has changed. Shame.
2. The temperature control units have a mind of thier own. You cannot simply set them to a temperature and expect it to get there.
Also, their cupboard shop never has toothpaste left and they dont offer any at the front desk. Bad.
With all that said. Jersey City Candlewood meets my needs the best by offering extended stay rates close to NYC (the path train is about 5 min walk way, WTC one stop). Also the units have ful lrefrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, stoves, etc etc etc. I love the rooms.
Without the evident cost cutting these places could be great.
