Horrible Spa Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/05
I had a horrible spa experience at the Five Gables Inn and Spa. I booked a one hour facial for the pricey sum of $110 only to have what amounted to my face washed and a mask applied, by an Aveda-trained technician (read that as I am not a trained esthetician, but I have index cards in the spa room that tell me what I am supposed to do during a face treatment.) Now I normally get facials at home for $60 with a trained esthetician in a beautiful salon. But I was in town visiting my family, had free babysitting for my 2 year old, and thought I would splurge. So I had my facial, paid my bill and came back the next day to talk to the spa manager, Bonnie Booth. I have never met someone so rude in my life. I offered Bonnie two alternatives to make me feel better about this over-priced face washing. She could give me a partial refund for the difference between what this treatment should have cost ($40) and what it actually cost ($110) or she could give me some free product. I got nothing. Not only that, but Bonnie chewed me out. What happened to customer service! She told me that I should have known that the Aveda concept facial is what it is. Girlfriends, dont make the same mistake I made. Skip the Five Gables Spa and tell your friends to do the same.
