Guyanese
By loreen, 5/11/10
I ask that anyone who wishes to visit Georgetown do some due diligence because this sight has no updated information. Although I am a Guyanese I cannot tell you what the current condition is.

Nice but expensive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/07
It is a nice and quiet place but I had to pay 125 US$ per night with (poor!) breakfast. Way too much, better choice is Hotel Zoom for half the price.

I agree . It is overpriced, lonely , and no street lights
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/06
First the location is POOR choice!. Loccated in lonely unlit street which has no beauty,Cara Lodge is anything but 1st class! You'll be dissappointed. Charm, yes, only in the day! No lighting? Well maybe for some people to accept! It is a lonely place. I stayed there ALONE last year. Very creepy feeling when you are alone in a building! Too expensive for the type of hotel. I escaped to the Le Meridien just to see PEOPLE and have someone to talk to and only went back after 11PM! What a holiday! Guyana was beautiful , Kaieteir and Mazaruni, but the hotel, NO WAY!!!

Great Hotel
By Shaun, 4/28/05
The has to be one of the Georgetowns best kept secrets. The building itself was built in 1840 and is absolutley beautiful and the new rooms blend into the old hotel so all looks like it was built in 1840. Great little restaurant that always seems to be busy with locals (always a good sign). Complimentary inroom internet access is a real bonus arethe staff who cannot do enought to make you happy. Look for Tuslie in the restaurant.

The Best in Georgetown
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/05
I have seen staying at Cara Lodge for years and I have to say it is by far the best in Georgetown. The restaurant has always been excellent and is very popular even with the locals who want excellent food at great prices.

Poor Service and very boring!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/5/05
This hotel bored me to death! I don't think i'll be going back there. The food was awful and the service was not what i was expecting. I suggest that if you go to a hotel in guyana, please don't go to this.
