Wouldn't stay here again!
By Nikki, 11/08/09
I stayed here for a wedding in the area. I was alone and had only one car which they allowed in the parking garage. The bride came and spent the night with me the night before the wedding anand drove to the hotel. The hotel would not issue me another pass in the parking garage. they only allow one car on the property. We had to pay $16 to pay in the public parking garage across the street. The carpet looked liked it had not been vacuumed. The food in the eatery in the hotel was overpriced and not good. The all of the hotel staff that I encountered at the front was rude. I would not myself or recommend anyone else to stay here.

We will never stay here again!!!
By Charlene, 09/05/09
If you want to be accommodate, then don't stay here!!... First of all, our TV in the living room did not work, so I called to report it and 40 minutes later the maintenance man showed up. He tried to fix it, but couldn't. They told us because the room was individually owned that they could not replace the TV. After arguing with the hotel management for 3 1/2 hours they finally brought us an old 19 inch TV. Second of all, we had NO HOT WATER. Again, I called hotel management and it took 40 minutes for the maintenance man to call us to tell us he had fixed it, that there was a bobble in the lines. Well, he didn't fix it and we had to take COLD showers the whole time we were there. Don't plan on getting clean shower or pool towels, because since there's a washer and dryer in the room, they expect you to laundry them yourselves. There's not enough tables and umbrellas at pool side, so if you want a table and umbrella, you will need to get down there around 7 AM to put your towels on one to save one. And hopefully no one will still them, because if they are stolen, the cost of the towels are $15.00 a piece. If you want to stay somewhere that is very nice and accommodating, stay next door at the Daytona Regency. The only difference in the two facilities is the Wyndham has a lazy river. But the lazy river is so small, that your constantly bumping into everyone or getting into jam with everyone. We stayed at the Daytona Regency last year and it was great!!.. That is were we will stay from now on!!

Paradise in a room
By Pat, 08/07/09
As an owner, you couldn't have asked for more. The service, the environment, was all exceptional. My view of the ocean and the streets from the third floor was like having the best of both worlds. I actually enjoyed being in the room since I was so tired from the drive. However, I did creep into the FL. ocean waters. The resort had more than enough to offer, food, shopping, swimming, golf, games, babysitting, parking and the list goes on and on. I'm looking forward to my next trip somewhere in the world with Wyndham.

We are never going to stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/09
Where to start? First , we were told we had a pool view room but were put in the interior room, not a big deal or so we thought. The room was nice but we noticed it had two window with blinds looking into the hall way. We unpack and go out to the pool. Things started to go wrong at that point. We took our two daughters into the kiddie pool area at first. Then went to the south pool area where the water was extremely cloudy as was the other pool on the north end and the lazy river. So we went back to the kiddie pool with our youngest. On the way, we noticed the north pool was empty, there was a volley ball game earlier and we thought the game was over. We thought that was the reason the pool was cleared out. My oldest daughter jumped in, went under water and came up . At that point a guest informed her that someone had defecated in the pool and she should get out. There was noone to block anyone from going into the pool and the pool was not roped off. Second, the elevator were useless, There was long lines and the average waiting time for us to catch a elevator was 15-20 mins. Third, no towels left for the pool area, informed to come back later Fourth, The windows I had mentioned earlier and the blinds that was supposed to keep the bright light from the hallway were useless. Fifth, we went out to see he fire works and noticed the pool was that was defecated in was blocked off with a employee standing by to make sure no one swam in the pool, I am pretty sure that there should be enough chemicals in the pool to kill any bacteria or anything thing that would threaten the health of my daughter but this still pissed me off that no one was there to warn my daughter about this when she jumped in other than another guest who did so after she jumped in. Me and my wife went down to talk to the manager about the light in the hallway and the pool incident. One manager told us that the incident occurred after after she got in at 3 o clock and we informed her about the guest warning my daughter to get out of the pool. She informed us that these people are on vacation and say anything. Did she forget we are on vacation too? We told her we don't know the exact time and what does it matter when she got to work, she implied that the guest did not know what they was talking about and at that time, no one had defecated in the pool, again we didn't tell her any certain time the incident occurred. Also, she informed us that our daughter is fine. all with a smile on her face. They knew about the light shining in from the hallway and were given blankets to cover the windows. We were told that hopefully in January when they do some updating they will put drapes in the rooms. At that point , we just wanted to get out of the place and go. But because this was a time share and privately owned, there could be no refund for the two nights left. So, we hung up the blankets by stuffing them above the blinds(the manager informed us that is the best way to hang them), after the pool incident, we didn't really feel like going back into the Questionable cloudy water( we did mention this to the manager and she went on about the standards they have to keep as far as chemicals and such in the pools) so we went to the water park across the street on one day and just hung out on the beach the next day. Hey look, we are not complainers and just wanted to leave after the first horrendous day and night but this is a worst vacationers nightmare. The elevators are almost useless, my daughter jumped into a giant toilet and after that, we started to see imaged feces everywhere in the pools, the windows showing a beautiful view into the hallway with its glaring light and the transparent blinds they use to block out the light, and finally the managers, one who implied to us, who are guests, that guests will say anything because they are on vacation.

Family would not recommend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/09
For several years we have wanted to take our young sons to the Wyndham Oceanwalk Resort. Though we already had our yearly Daytona Beach reservations in place we began to research the possibility of changing our plans and surprising our boys. Many hours were spent in search of an affordable room and reading different reviews. Even though some reviews made us second guess our change, we truly believed it would be the greatest vacation ever. Well, you decide! We arrived to a traffic and check-in nightmare even though we were allowed an early (2:00 pm) check-in. During check-in we were given blue armbands to wear during our stay. I have no problem with the armband if you can remove it before going out and if everyone else wears theirs while at the resort. If worn as supposedly required you make a good target for those looking to cash in on vacationers. Our unit (606) was an owner unit and it only had five bath towels. Our rental didn’t provide housekeeping so we were required to do our own laundry. So, with 5 bath towels we were basically doing laundry every day. I would recommend using the dryer while out of the unit due to the “jet engine” sound it makes while running. Lounge chairs were hard to come by. In order to get a chair you had to wait in lobby along with lots of other guests until 8:15 when pool area was opened and race to a chair. So, forget sleeping in. Also, be prepared to wait in line just to get in the lazy river. People aren’t allowed in it without a tube which is usually hard to come by. No “body floating” is allowed. On second day, buses, vans, and more buses arrive with youth groups attending a youth convention. Resort was overtaken by teenagers. People would “knock and run” on door and windows at all hours of the day and night. Elevators which required patience anyway were basically inaccessible when youth groups came in. The joke was to press all 20 plus buttons so it would stop at all floors all the time. We recommend checking the Daytona Convention Center events calendar before booking. On third day, air conditioning in parts of the south tower quit working. Air conditioning was not restored for approximately 30 hours. Our 85 degree room was abandoned for an entire day. We were lucky to have family at a nearby resort so we spent the day with them. Resort management was very unprofessional, unfriendly, and unaccommodating about the whole ordeal. During our vacation we experienced many other unpleasant events similar to those we read in earlier reviews. Due to our experience with Wyndham Oceanwalk we will no longer spend our money or precious family time at any other Wyndham property.

About the best outside of the Orlando area!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/28/09
We have been going to this resort on and off for the last 10 years. They have everything you want there, including a caring staff. Our car broke down just down the street this past trip and a staff member come down to us and got AAA to jump start it. They are always smiling and very courteous. I have read some of these reviews and can see where some have had a hard time there. I say just book there. Everything is in one place on a great beach!!

NEVER AGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/09
I PAID FOR OCEANFRONT ROOMS FOR MY WEDDING AND THEY GAVE US CITYVIEW ROOMS AND WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ME THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE. STAFF WAS RUDE, HAD TO PAY FOR PARKING WOULD NOT LET US PARK AT HOTEL. WOULD NOT LET MY LIMO PULL INTO HOTEL, HAD TO WALK OUT TO ROAD ON MY WEDDING DAY. NO SHAMPOO OR SOAP, TELEPHONES BROKEN, SHOWER BACKED UP. OUR FLOOR SMELT HORRIBLE. HAD TO WAIT 30 MINUTES JUST TO GET AN ELEVATOR AND I WAS ON THE 24 FLOOR. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN.
