Wyndham Ocean Walk, Daytona Beach

Too crowded. Not enough chairs by the pool. Get ready to stand in line for check-in, for the elevators, and for a luggage cart. Not enough parking spaces. Furniture in rooms is dirty.

I DONT HAVE ONE BAD THING TO SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE. I STAYED AT THE HILTON A MONTH PRIOR AND WAS VERY UNHAPPY, ESPECIALLY THE PRICE. SO I WALKED THE BEACH AND SAW THIS RESORT. I RECIEVED A 860 SQ FT ROOM, FULL KITCHEN SEPERATE BEDROOM, EVERYTHING A HOUSE HAS AND CLEAN AND COMFY. AND $70.00 CHEAPER THEN THE HILTON A NIGHT. DEFINITLY 5 STARS AND THUMBS UP...............

Reading the reviews of those that had problems, they just look to much for perfect everything. The chairs at the pool, yes, they are hard to get, but you can obtain a chair if you want to by 8am instead of laying in bed or watching tv. Way too many people come down and put their towels on the chairs, go back and shower up, eat breakfast, drinking coffee, and expect the chair to be theirs upon their arrival. If you want a chair, use it right away. You don't have to stay there the entire time. Parking: there is ample parking across the street, you have to pay each day, but if you bring more than one vehicle, this is the way it is done. The room itself: So many problems because of the different people that stay there. If you are not a timeshare owner, you probably could care less how you treat the room, don't really care if the place gets dirty, you dirty it up and leave it, kick your feet up on the table, break the coffee pot, abuse the tv or whatever you complain about that is not useable. With the amount of people coming thru this resort, and it is a resort, NOT A HOTEL!, it is amazing they can keep up the appearance, cleanliness and in working order the rooms. As far as the elevators, what, are you riding them constantly? Try the stairs for a couple of floors and catch it there. Be patient. Not too many places on the beach where you can come out of your room, down the elevator and sit at a bar inside the lobby. That is convient. Or sit out at the tikki bar by the pool. Not too many places you come out of your room, down to the lobby, walk right out to the pool, or the beach if you are going there. Many, many resorts, you have to walk a 1.5 of a mile to the pool, a 1/3 of a mile to the beach, no bar, no tikki bar, no restaurant in the resort, nor a mini mall attached to the side of the resort. It is the best place to be on vacation. Now, try staying in a HOTEL, like a cracker box compared to this resort. Not all resorts are equal to OceanWalkResort. W isn't perfect, but it is better than the alternative. I will never stay anywhere else. But hope you do to give me peace of mind. Oh, and I am coming back in late September this year, 2012...

The Elevators are HORRIBLE here. We timed them, and we waited up the 18 minutes for an elevator. We went in 2008 and 2009, but decided not to go back because of the elevators taking so long. We found a really great deal on ebay, and decided to try it again this year, 2012. We would not go back again even if the vacations was given to us. The elevators were a nightmare. We complained to the customer service department, but they said there was nothing they could do to make them better. We went to a time share presentation, and I even complained to them about the elevators. There is no way I would waste my money on buying a place from these people, because my time is money. I told them that was the reason we would not buy from them, and they laughed. The rooms have always been nice, and the water amenities are wonderful, but get ready to spend your whole vacation waiting on the elevators. We will not ever go back again.

I loved the location being right there on the beach. it was convient to shops and restaurants. The pool was a bit crowded but loved it none the less. The arcade on the inside was great. The room was awesome. Had a view of the beach and it was amazing to sit out on the balcony night and day. I would definantly recommend this hotel to anyone, the pricing to me is completely worth the stay. Thanks Wyndham for an amazing experience!!

I stayed here with 2 friends in April of 2010 and we plan to return this year. We had no issues. We did have to make a few calls to room service to obtain extra t/p & pillows. Parking is tight but we managed to find a spot every night. Not sure why people are saying only 1 spot is alloted per unit as we were there during cheerleader competitions & they took up multi parking spots. We did ask for oceanfront & were given street, which worked out better for us in the long run; however if I really, really wanted oceanfront I would have been very disappointed. Lots to do in the area & within walking distance to the hotel. Rooms were clean, staff was nice. Not luxurious but certainly functional. All I need is a clean room, a comfortable bed, & a bathroom. I'm on vacation, not living here.

The only good thing about this place was its location on the beach. Otherwise they hit you hard to buy a timeshare. If you don't buy you're treated like crap. If you ask for anything (i.e. extra towels) they check to see if you are a "owner". If not, the answer is no.

We spent a week at ocean walk and we loved it. We had a nice clean condo on the 22nd floor. The view from the room was city/ocean. The people were nice and friendly and willing to help you with anything. The location was great every thing you needed was withen walking distance. Great place for kids with the slides at the pool and the lazy river. Will return next year and stay at oceanwalk.

Poor, poor service. One parking permit per unit no matter how many people or what price. Go to the Hilton or Regency next door. If you just want a view then this is your hotel. No exchange of linen no matter what. very unsatisfied with customer service.

We are Wyndham owners and some of their resorts are newer than Ocean Walk, but we brought our son and 2 of our grandchildren and had a wonderful time. Looking at some of the reviews it seems like the Wyndham owners had a good time and the people that rented or payed for a room might not get the best rooms. l just made reservations for 6/1/2011 tonight and expect to have another wonderful vacation. I don"t understand all the complaints about the pools. I went to Ocean walk to be on the beach. If the pools are so bad lay on the beach.
